Chapter 2129: Overflowing Power
Isdis and Eris looked at each other and then took a deep breath as Amaterasu disappeared. She was a handful to deal with, being such a force that they couldn’t even face. She does what she wants, and no one can argue with her.
They looked toward Arad for a second, and then walked back with him to the throne, where he sat down to keep channelling Isdis’s power to the entire heaven, and the two goddesses sat on his lap, with each taking a leg for herself.
Eris and Isdis both poured their divine magic into Arad’s body, where the two raging powers mixed, and then were spread through the throne to all the angels working around the heaven. Such a process would have been impossible without him, as neither of them had a way of storing the divine magic of another god.
Eris could house Amaterasu’s divine magic since they are both stars, but even then, the divine magic would change significantly to reflect her. The only way for two divine powers to coexist inside one body is for a mortal to use them, and there wasn’t any mortal besides Arad who could endure enough divine magic to fuel an entire heaven.
"Why..." Isdis felt a bit bothered. "Are you able to easily absorb all of my divine magic?" She asked as she looked up at his face, unable to believe that he easily absorbed and redirected all of the divine magic that she, a goddess of control, couldn’t control.
Eris smiled as she reached up to Arad’s chest, rubbing it with her hand. "Well, you see..." She licked her lips. "This one is special." She threw a gaze toward Isdis. "I doubt anyone besides him could pull this off."
"I know that." Isdis pouted, "What I’m saying is that he can move more divine magic than most gods could ever dream of. Wasn’t he weak to divine magic before? Due to being a vampire?" She then threw a sharp gaze at Arad’s face.
Arad looked down at them and then thought about it for a while. He then wrapped his arms around them and held them tightly. "Do you think you can escape my grasp?"
The two blinked, and Isdis immediately shook her head. "Impossible, I’m not that physically strong." Eris, on the other hand, smiled with a proud face. "Well, I might be able to."
"Then try it. You’ll understand something that Kali explained to me." As he said those words, Eris tried to move but couldn’t get out of the grasp of his arm. It didn’t matter how much power she tried to pull; she couldn’t escape.
Arad then opened his arms, and she still couldn’t move an inch. "What... is this?"
Arad looked at her, "It goes even further. Stand up." As he spoke, she did as he said and then realized that she couldn’t control her own body. "Like all worlds, this entire world has its own rules that I control. So if I said you are... a child for example..." Eris turned into a little girl as she looked back. "As a goddess, you can’t exist in my world without following those rules to limit your own power."
Eris then returned to her adult shape, and looked at her hands. "So... you set the rules for this world?"
"I do, but I’m still not that good at it. For example, if you were to resist with all of your will, you could break free from my rules, unlike in the outside world." He then looked at Isdis, "You also should be able to break free if you use your Control, but that would take some effort."
Eris returned to sit on his lap. "So... you can’t control people like Kali or Amaterasu."
"I can’t, but Kali gives me full control over her anyway, and it was the same for Amaterasu. They follow any rules I set, even though they don’t have to." He pointed at the throne. "The reason I can easily control your divine magic is that it all exists inside my stomach."
So, the more gods live inside Arad’s stomach, the stronger he becomes, and the more pawns he has to enact his own will. Eris and Isdis aren’t just living and having their heavens inside him for nothing; they are also actively adding to Arad’s overall power.
Eris smiled from ear to ear, and her eyes burned with a bright, purplish-red light. "So, defeating you inside your stomach is even harder than outside it." She then leaned on his chest. "That only means... it is safer here."
Isdis also smiled because, for some reason, it made her feel better knowing that she wasn’t the only one Arad could overpower here. If even Eris couldn’t move against his will, she should take her time and grow stronger.
At that moment, a divine presence sparked in the hall as a powerful angel of peace flew in, and she landed right in front of the throne. She was about to kneel down, but then noticed that Arad was the one sitting on the throne, not her divine Goddess Isdis.
"My Divine?" She looked at Isdis, who sat on Arad’s leg, and got a smile back. "What do you want? Is it important?"
Hearing Isdis’s cold voice, the angel immediately knelt down. "I apologize for my rudeness, my Divine. We formed the base of the heaven, but we still need more divine magic to start building the actual places where the believers would rest. We also lack energy for defences and crucial communications."
Isdis looked troubled, so Arad spoke. "I’m pretty sure I’m giving out all of Isdis’s divine output, alongside a huge chunk of Eris’s divine magic. How is that not enough?"
The angel was about to tell him that it might be his fault for not letting Isdis sit on the throne, but immediately swallowed that as she could see he was moving more divine magic than Isdis herself could emit. "It is just not enough; we lack quantity. From what I’ve heard from Eris’s angels, they used far more to build their heaven, which was fuelled by Amaterasu’s endless divine magic."
Eris growled, "Fine, I’ll give you more." But before she could, Arad stopped her. "Eris, you still need your divine magic to form the Gravastar and train, the same with Isdis. Building this heaven is just too big a task... I’ve got a better solution."
The angel looked at him. "A better solution? Ask Amaterasu for divine magic?"
"We already got enough from her." Arad closed his eyes, and the angel immediately paled as she sensed an endless torrent of Destruction’s divine magic flowing out of the throne. But that wasn’t the part that made her pale; what scared her was that Arad had neutralized the destruction part so the angels could safely use it.
"You can do that?!" The angel gasped, and Arad looked at her. "Yes. This should be enough, right?"
"Yes, it is more than we need for now... But..." She threw a glance toward Isdis, "Can we... have her oversee the operation?"
As she spoke, she felt something push on the back of her head, and in the next moment, her face was already planted to the ground. "Aren’t you talking a lot for an angel?" Kali was there, stepping on the angel’s head.
As the angel twitched, Kali just pushed down harder. "She is a new goddess, and didn’t even become a demigoddess in the process. Everything is new to her... aren’t you asking too much of her now? Come on... tell me."
She then removed her foot and walked past the angel toward the throne. "Arad is here doing his best, so don’t overstep your limits in front of him."
As the angel lifted her head, she saw Kali sitting between Arad’s legs. "Go back to your work. I’ll give enough divine magic to build this heaven, and next time you come to ask something, make sure to show respect."
Diana was standing behind the angel, and she grabbed her by the hair, lifting her up as she growled. "You showed up here without asking for permission first. That is a clear sign of disrespect from an angel to the divine. You aren’t an archon to act like that. Just because Isdis is a new goddess, and just because she isn’t your former goddess, that doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want."
"Diana is right." Kali smiled, "Make it known that any angel who dares disrespect Isdis, Eris, or Arad, I would have them skinned alive. Take her out; she is excused for her first offence."
