Chapter 325: Let him go
Suddenly, Daisy’s hand was grabbed by Si Yena.
Before Daisy could resist, Si Yena smiled, ’’You would not want to push me, would you?"
When Ryle stepped inside the mansion, the place was enshrouded in darkness.
’’You are finally here after the long wait...’’ Si Yena’s voice reverberated in the big mansion.
Ryle looked up and at the floor above, he spotted Si Yena sitting on a throne chair, placed in front of a painting that had been burned beyond repair. By her side, Daisy stood quietly.
Daisy looked at Ryle with a complicated expression and Ryle knew that the situation was no good.
’’I knew your people have surrounded the mansion from all sides and some are even trying to get the child while we talk here,’’ Si Yena laughed, ’’But you should ask them to back out.’’
Ryle’s face turned cold.
Si Yena raised a brow, ’’Call yourself unlucky but you have stepped into my lair. Unlike Daisy who had to put all the efforts in tracking me down, you had it easy. I gave you my whereabouts. Now that you are here, don’t tell me you regret it? Or do you not want to save the child anymore?"
Ryle looked at the woman with a piercing gaze before pulling out his phone. He placed the phone on speaker.
Benjamin’s voice rang, ’’Boss, we...’’
’’Retreat.’’
’’But...’’
Ryle hung up the call without a moment’s delay.
’’Very well... And now...’’ Si Yena smiled.
’’He has nothing to do with this,’’ Daisy blocked Si Yena’s sight, ’’Leave him out of it.’’
’’Hmm?" Si Yena looked up, ’’Aren’t you together? You should be thankful that I am helping you see through men. Don’t you want to see if he treats you and your child well?" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Daisy frowned, ’’We have nothing to do with each other,’’ As she spoke, she did not spare Ryle a single gaze, ’’We were together but things were bound to change sooner or later. He is unrelated to my child. I don’t see a reason why you would even try to use us against him...’’
Ryle narrowed his eyes and ascended the stairs.
’’Men!" The moment Si Yena spoke, men rushed out from inside the mansion and rushed to the stairs.
The first man hurled a fist at Ryle’s face but before the hit could land on the man, it was caught by Ryle.
’’Are you resisting?" Si Yena looked at the man condescendingly.
Ryle met her gaze, ’’Tell me what I must do before you will let Angel go.’’
’’That...’’ Si Yena stroked her chin, ’’actually depends on my mood... forget it. Let me vent and settle my scores with you and then maybe...’’ She paused and clapped her palms.
Suddenly the glass chandelier in the center of the living room moved away. The ceiling opened up and a tall glass enclosure slowly descended.
’’You...’’ Daisy’s heart rose up to her throat, ’’When...?"
The glass enclosure had plenty of soft toys in it and in the center, Angel was seated. The little girl was laughing and giggling, seemingly unaware of how she was suspended from the air.
Ryle’s fingers curled into fists.
The other man whose hand was grabbed by Ryle retracted his hand at lightning speed, feeling the pain of having his bone crushed.
’’Caught you off guard, didn’t I?" Si Yena liked the myriad expressions on Daisy’s face, ’’I had been making arrangements in this mansion for quite a while. There are secret passages in every place around here. Moreover, the both of you should be happy...’’
Si Yena pointed at Angel, ’’I will let her be there... away from everyone else. Once we are done, you can take her and leave,’’ Speaking of that, she turned to Daisy, ’’Men!" Once she spoke, more men rushed out of the mansion and surrounded Ryle.
With a few hits, Ryle flew down the stairs, blood trailing down his broken lips.
Daisy closed her eyes.
’’Daddy...’’ the voice was suppressed by the glass enclosure that was suspended from the ceiling but still it was audible to everyone.
Initially the little girl stood near one wall, hands pressed against the glass wall as she looked at Ryle excitedly.
But as she watched him being bruised and beaten by everyone, the little girl started bawling, the soft toys no longer held her attention.
’’Oh?" Si Yena looked at Daisy, amused, ’’And you try to fool me into thinking he is unrelated to you all? But then you teach your child to see him as her father? No fun.’’
Propping her chin on her palm, Si Yena dropped another, ’’Bring out your knives. Let him bleed some more.’’
Ryle did not respond to any hit. The men around him pulled out their knives and in no time, his body was riddled with wounds.
He gritted his teeth and staggered back when a knife grazed through his chest, digging a little deeper than others.
’’Let him go...’’ Daisy turned to look at Si Yena, eyes sparkling with unshed tears, ’’He will die... I can take his place if you want.’’
Si Yena fell silent and a hint of displeasure crossed her face.
’’How can I hurt you? Stop!" When her words dropped, the men who were attacking Ryle from every direction halted.
Ryle stood up straight, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.
In the silence of the hall, the only sound that could be heard was Angel’s crying. That too was suppressed by the glass enclosure she was trapped in.
"Quite pathetic if you ask me,’’ a voice sounded.
Chen Lina walked towards Daisy and Si Yena with a file in her hand, ’’But it’s good for you that you finally get to repay all the humiliation you have endured.’’
’’What are you doing here?" Si Yena frowned, ’’Didn’t I ask you to stay put and keep your eyes on the surroundings?" freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
"His people have retreated. And at this point, there is no opening for them to play any tricks so it’s time that I get what I was promised.’’
