Chapter 300: Oh how I love you so

Had the young Ryle just been this concerned when he saw his family breaking apart? How long had he tried with his small body to negotiate with his father, or to take care of his mother? When was he eventually disappointed until he stopped trying? Did somebody lend him a shoulder? Did somebody pat his head, telling him that he will be fine?

Daisy cupped his face and leaned in towards him. She pressed a soft kiss on his forehead, ’’Let’s stop fighting. I don’t want to not be on talking terms with you.’’

Yesterday was probably the first time they had such a confrontation and she did not want there to be a second instance of it.

Ryle was stunned when she suddenly kissed his forehead but her words brought him back to himself, ’’When did we ever fight? Can I bear to fight with you?"

Daisy tilted her head and nodded seriously, ’’That’s even better. In the future, don’t push me away. Don’t ask me to leave...’’

’’But...’’

’’I won’t meddle in your affairs...’’

’’That’s not what I mean...’’

’’I will not put myself in danger. I will try not to involve myself in things,’’ Daisy stroked his face, ’’But I will stay here with you. I will continue living under this disguise quietly till you are done. I will watch you from afar if you want, never interfering unless you are in danger. But I won’t leave you alone here....’’

Her words were cut off as Ryle grabbed the back of her head and captured in a soft, punishing kiss. When their lips parted, both of them were panting softly.

"Oh, how I love you so...’’ Ryle whispered, his voice almost inaudible and his face full of the feelings he couldn’t contain in his heart.

Daisy imitated his actions and looked at him just the way he was looking at her. Her eyes glazed over as she said in the same way, ’’Oh, how I love you so.’’

Ryle was stunned. He looked at her in absolute disbelief, ’’Princess, say that again?"

’’What?"

’’What you just said.’’

’’Oh, I was just trying,’’ Daisy blinked.

Ryle could feel his heart spiraling haywire, ’’You... Try again. Please try again.’’

As he spoke, he had already flipped their positions, pinning her under him.

Daisy frowned, ’’Stop being willful. Do you think we are at Chen Mansion?"

"Do I look like I care?"

’Knock knock’

’’Ryle.’’

Hearing Nathan’s voice, Daisy narrowed her eyes at Ryle.

Ryle cursed under his breath. freewebnovel.cσ๓

When there was no response from inside, Nathan pushed open the door and stepped inside.

The room was dimly lit and even the blinds were drawn. Nathan could only see Ryle half leaning on the headboard with the thick blanket draped over him. Ryle had his reading glasses on and in his hand, he held a book. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

’’Not feeling well?" The man asked.

No response.

’’If you are not feeling well, we can make some arrangements for your training. You are to take over this empire in the future and you cannot do so in a fragile state.’’

No response.

’’Daisy Chen.’’

As Nathan’s voice dropped, Ryle’s grip on the book tightened.

’’That’s her name, right?’’ Nathan glanced at his son coldly, ’’Not a bad choice, if I must say.’’

Daisy, who was hidden under the blanket, had her head pressed tightly to Ryle’s thigh. When she heard Nathan’s words, she slowly placed her palm on Ryle’s thigh. It seemed like the man was praising her, but she had no good feelings about it.

And her instincts turned out to be right when Nathan continued, ’’Had it been someone else, it would have been an exceptional choice. But for us, the Kingsleys, the Chens are not the right match. They are wealthy and powerful but only in business. They have no standing in the underworld so no matter, what they would not be able to add anything to us.’’

’’Are you done?" Ryle closed the book and looked at the man, ’’If you are, lock the door on your way out.’’

As he spoke, his fingers twitched slightly. He could feel Daisy’s lips on his thighs. She had caressed and fondled about for some moments before she settled in a more comfortable position.

’’Secondly, she has a child.’’

Ryle felt Daisy pause under the blanket.

’’Our family customs do not allow this. In any case, you won’t be raising someone else’s child. So, you better drop the idea. This is my advice to you as a father. Nobody wants a second Raelynn in this place, right?"

’Click’

In Nathan’s eyes, Ryle’s movement was just a blur. One moment, Ryle was sitting still with an aloof face but in the next moment, he pulled a gun from the pillow and it aimed straight between Nathan’s forehead.

Nathan stood stunned for a moment but contrary to one’s expectations, he broke into a huge smile instead of backing off, ’’It seems like you are not as fragile as I had assumed. But that’s only good for us,’’ the man smirked, ’’Don’t be so hostile towards me. This is what the family customs dictate. The Kingsley family only recognizes legitimate heirs otherwise, don’t you think you would have had a bunch of siblings by now? I didn’t have another child because your grandfather held me on edge, threatening to discard me if I impregnate any of my mistresses.’’

’’You are the only legitimate child he recognized and while I despise your slut of a mother, you are still my son...’’

’Bang’

The trigger was pulled.

Blood dripped down Nathan’s right shoulder but the man did not flinch in the slightest, ’’If you think killing me gets you your freedom, then you can carry on. But remember, this empire I have carried on for decades recognizes my blood. I have raised a pack of wolves and I feed them religiously. When I die, those wolves would go out for a hunt. And they would sniff your blood and find you for vengeance...’’
