Chapter 293: All I could ever wish for

Not wanting to indulge in them any further, Nathan waved his hand. The maids, still clearly afraid of him, retreated with unstable steps. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

When Nathan turned to look at Ryle, he found the latter sitting still in the same position as earlier. Uninterested and unbothered. ’’We have a lot to catch up on and now that you are here, don’t think about leaving anymore. We can catch up on things gradually.’’

Nathan pushed himself to his feet, ’’I have things to do. You can go to your room and take a rest. We will talk business later.’’ freewёbnoνel.com

Later that night, Ryle tossed and turned on the King-sized-bed. After a few moments of struggle, he grabbed his phone and attempted to call his people but before the call could connect, he disconnected it.

The moment he stepped in here, he knew all his movements were being tracked. And he had already expected it before he came here but that had been in the sphere of his expectations. But now...

’Creak’

Ryle sat up on the bed without turning on the bedside lamps. In the darkness, he could barely see anything. But his ears picked up the faint rustling sounds.

’Swish’

The window opened and a shadow jumped in. The sound of approaching footsteps made Ryle push the pillow aside and grab the pistol he had been hiding.

The person stopped in their tracks for a brief moment before they continued walking again.

’’It seems you are not afraid of losing your life,’’ Ryle said coldly as he pulled the trigger.

’’That’s true. I am more afraid that you might not be able to kill me.’’

The pistol in Ryle’s hand dropped on the edge of the bed before tumbling down the blanket to the floor carpet.

Ryle exhaled a shaky breath as he watched the person step out of the shadows and stand at the spot where the moonlight infiltrated in the room.

Earlier when that maid had given her name, Ryle had been momentarily stumped. In his wildest thoughts, he had assumed that it was his Daisy. But he had not dared to look at her in the fear that if he recognized her, his expressions would give it away.

However that unfamiliar voice, the feet size, the shape of the legs and other such things had given him consolation that this might not be Daisy after all because he was familiar with every mole on Daisy’s body.

But in his haste, he forgot the amount of times he had been fooled by Daisy and her disguises, be it when she was Dexter or be it when she disguised herself as a makeup artist to run from her wedding. He had been so indulged in being her boyfriend that he overlooked the fact that his girlfriend was a master of disguise.

An entirely unfamiliar face, even the body structure was different somehow yet as Daisy approached him, she peeled off her mask and undressed herself with one hand till she stood before him in nothing but her corset that held her body tightly hiding her curves and making her look rather frail.

She tugged that corset string and let it drop to the floor as she took a step towards him, her long hair cascading over her shoulder.

Ryle gulped, forcing himself to not look anywhere down her neck lest he lost all his senses, ’’Why? Daisy, you...’’

’’You lied to me,’’ Daisy grabbed his suit jacket that he had thrown onto the chair earlier and draped it around her body, covering herself properly.

Nobody turned the lights on.

Ryle opened his mouth and then closed it, a hint of guilt squeezing his heart. Fuck, how he missed her. All he wanted was to hold her hand, pull her into his arms without any restraints but she did not give him the chance.

As she sat on the bed, she kept a distance between them and her eyes met his only momentarily before looking away.

Ryle gulped the words he had intended to say and lowered his head before he spoke, ’’You should leave. I... I will find you soon but till then, I don’t want you to stay anywhere near this place. Sweetheart, you need to trust me more...’’

’’What reason did you give me to trust you?" Daisy glanced at Ryle, her voice breaking towards the end as she spoke, "You lied to me.’’

Ryle opened his mouth to speak but the sight that he witnessed left him choked. Her eyes were sparkling with unshed tears. She averted her gaze and blinked a few times before looking her way again.

’’We have been living together for a long time now. We are together in all good times, Ryle but the moment when things go wrong, you get up and leave on your own to deal with them. I know I might not be good enough,’’ As Daisy spoke, tears rolled down her cheeks.

’’I am bad at communicating. I don’t know how to console you and I might not be the most ideal girlfriend. I have never dated before. I don’t know the right way to do it either...’’

Her words were cut off by the pair of lips that claimed hers in a gentle kiss. As Ryle kissed her, he grabbed her hips and pulled her onto his lap. His other hand stroked her hair as he cupped her face and deepened the kiss.

When she resisted, Ryle flushed her closer against him till he felt her hot tears gliding down her cheeks as well.

’’You are all I could ever wish for,’’ Ryle whispered, peppering soft kisses all over her face. He let himself go and wrapped his arms around her waist.

Daisy did not meet his gaze even as his touch comforted her, even as his words left a trail of warmth in their wake. She sat still for a while before struggling to get off his lap, ’’Let’s talk business.’’

’’We will talk like this,’’ Ryle wanted to lie down while holding her in his arms but along with her stubborn nature, Daisy was blessed with the kind of a strength that had impressed him when he met Dexter for the first time.
