Chapter 278: Missing him together
The past few days seemed to pass in a blur. Daisy did not know why she felt that way but she had a feeling that it must be because everything was going good.
Her parents were happy in their life and on a recent call with her father, he revealed that her mother’s treatment was going well. After recovering her memories, she was still detached with her therapists and refused to talk to them about her encounter and experience that night but gradually, she was opening up, not just to the therapists but also to her father. They were content, living their own little world.
In all this time they have been talking, Daisy had never been questioned about the company’s situation by her father and it took her some time to realize that it was not that he did not care about the company but he simply had handed it over to her. Permanently. Without any worries.
Daisy did not know what to do or how to feel about this realization. When she was young, she hated this place, this family and everything revolving around her parents so she had no interest in this company despite her inclination towards business.
As she grew up, she did not hold strong resentment towards everything but still she was not too emotionally attached to it as well.
But the past few months changed many things that in a way she did not see coming. And now, she did not feel as uncomfortable or hesitant about being responsible for the company. Perhaps that came with the realization that she loved what she did.
She had done multiple part time jobs in the past, from legal to illegal but business indeed hit a different chord in her that the rest didn’t.
So, although her father did not bring it up, she assured him that she would try her best and probably find him when she needed it. And he sounded rather elated about it. So happy that he laughed for a few minutes straight.
That caught Daisy by surprise. It was unexpected from a man who rarely showed any emotions on his face but maybe that’s what love did to people.
All it takes is one person and you start doing things that you don’t usually do.
’’Daisy... Daisy...’’
Daisy blinked and looked up at Ivy who was sitting next to her on the couch at some point, her chin being supported on the bridge of her intertwined fingers. Ivy’s attention swung between Daisy to the laptop on her lap.
’’Hmm?"
’’You were so distracted. You didn’t even pay attention to what I said.’’
’’Oh... I..’’
’’Mommy...’’
Angel, sitting on Daisy’s left, called out, her undivided attention on her laptop, ’’Mommy has finished working already,’’ Daisy sighed and patted the girl’s head.
The girl jutted her bottom lips out but did not look away from the laptop.
Ivy chuckled, ’’It’s not like you don’t know what she is waiting for.’’ freёwebnoѵel.com
Daisy sighed, ’’There is no way I can give in to her on that.’’
Angel had developed a strong interest in codes. And in further details, the girl liked it and watched it with keen attention when Daisy had to use her hacking skills.
Angel always had an uncanny interest in computers but this thing probably deepened three weeks ago when Daisy was hacking into the materials regarding some troublemaking shareholders. While Daisy was working on it, she had not noticed Angel who had at some point sat on the floor, looking at the laptop with complete focus.
And ever since then, things have been like this. Everytime Angel spotted Daisy with her laptop, she would bat her eyelashes and sit still, looking at her expectantly.
"Are you afraid that she would get into illegal things?" Ivy laughed even more.
Daisy rolled her eyes, "I hope not.’’
’’Mommy...’’
Cute Attack 2!
Angel climbed on Daisy’s lap and looked at her like a hurt bunny.
Daisy reached an arm towards her and stabilized the girl with one arm, her other hand grabbed the laptop as she passed it to Ivy.
Ivy took it from her and placed it on the coffee table while Angel smothered Daisy’s face with an unhealthy amount of sloppy kisses, her adorable face determined to please her mother into convincing her to give her what she wanted.
’’No,’’ Daisy stated calmly, waiting for the girl to continue kissing.
But the girl abruptly stopped her actions, her eyes tearing up.
’’Be good this time. He must be busy. He will call us once he has some time, okay?" Daisy pulled the girl into her arms.
’’It has been just over a day since Ryle went to the US but you both mother and daughter are already missing him so much,’’ Ivy grabbed an apple and munched on it, ’’Why don’t you call him? He might not be that busy...’’
Daisy shook her head.
The reason why she felt like the past few days were too good and passed too quickly was precisely because of this. Everything was fine and well. Not just with her parents but also on her side, with Diana, her business and all.
The Lu Family’s news was still trending and it had shifted the probing eyes from Chen Corps. When the news of the Lu Family made it to headlines, it caused an uproar and many people were shocked. Even Daisy was in disbelief too. She called Lu Xian to express her condolences but the call did not go through.
She considered him not just as a business partner but also a friend so Daisy dropped a text to him and let it be.
But that somehow caught Ryle’s eyes who initially seemed very understanding about it until night fell and he started ’punishing’ her for caring too much for another man.
The past few weeks were a haze and she had lost the feeling between her legs. Where Ryle would get the chance, he would be inside her, be it in the mansion, in the car, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in her office... Three days ago, he even tried things at a restaurant. He took her out on a supposed date and she was the only one who ate while he had his fingers buried inside her from under the table.
Results...she got out of the result on shaky legs.
It was all fun and good until...
