Daisy’s movements stilled completely when she heard that familiar voice. Her hand that was almost mid air halted and her eyes that were looking in the direction of the secret guards whom she was about to command, lost their focus in a split-second.
Along with Daisy, the rest of the people were stunned too. But their shock was not an emotional shock like Daisy. Instead, some people were curious by the new arrival while some even wanted to know the identity of the person more because of the audacious voice that he used while talking even in the presence of the authorities because that only showed that he was not a person with a status that can be underestimated.
While ordinary people and the reporters who were a part of the scheme had such thoughts, the people who were leading it were intimidated and frustrated both.
Mrs. Lu’s face had dropped and turned bitter, ’Why was this bitch so lucky? Why does she get away from things easily everytime?’ she could not help but think in her heart. As for the matter with the shares, it was her son, Lu Xian who had schemed and gotten his hands on the shares of Chen Corporations first. What Daisy did was merely a retaliation and a way to ensure the safety of the company.
The Lu family and Si Family were each lost in their thoughts and struggles and they did not notice the person who had intervened in this matter until he walked past the police authorities and came to stand beside Daisy.
’’Who are you? How dare you show your face here?" Mrs. Lu looked at the man who was much more taller than Daisy and when he stood by her side, he almost seemed to be like an unmovable mountain that was determined to protect her.
Mrs. Lu’s face was a little pale. After all, she had willingly lent a hand to the Si family to cause all these chaos because her son was not around. But she had never expected this matter to be stretched till now. If he came to see the current circumstances then he would undoubtedly resent them so she wanted to deal with this matter as soon as possible.
Ryle did not look at the woman even once nor did he bother to respond to her words that were obviously directed towards him. He turned his face to the side and glanced at Daisy who was looking up at him quietly.
’’Are you alright?" Ryle turned around and shielded her with his body while he spoke to her in a voice only they could hear.
Daisy’s heart raced slightly and the indifference she had felt towards this matter suddenly seemed to be disappearing. Her defenses dropped and she suddenly felt wrong. The urges, however strange and foreign they were, made her want to rush into his arms without wasting another moment.
Ryle did not know how she was feeling or what she was thinking but the longer she looked at him silently, the more he felt his heart constricting in an uncomfortable manner.
The calm and playful aura around him gradually dispersed as a frost gathered on his face.
’’You cannot meddle in this matter, sir. It’s better if you let us do our duty and deal with this,’’ one of the officers quickly walked towards the man as he spoke, ’’Or else, we would have to resort to other ways.’’
’’You dare?" Ryle’s face turned dark and his eyes burst with a menacing light as he stared at the man who approaching towards him, the look completely contrasting the way he had looked at Daisy earlier.
The person halted in his tracks, momentarily dazed by his aura.
’’Men!" The moment Ryle’s words dropped, a huge number of people surrounded the venue and closed in to the authorities who seemed like they wanted to approach Daisy.
Daisy frowned but she did not say anything.
