The remaining people were speechless. Amidst such a heated discussion, the man was only concerned about how Daisy was addressing him? Was life so easy for everyone? Why were they not as chill?

Daisy looked at the man quietly. On her way to the company, she read the reports regarding Caleb Astor that were mailed to her by Secretary Han. True to the man’s words, he was indeed very close to her father. Now, he was the COO, one of the most influential positions in the company so Daisy knew that it was all because of his competence, and not his friendship with her father.

Still, he was a mysterious person. Daisy did not know why she had a weird feeling every time she encountered him or interacted with him. It was almost as if she had met the man before but she had no recollection of that. If she had met a remarkable person like Caleb, she would have remembered.

’’Uncle,’’ Daisy looked at the man.

’’Good. Good.’’ Caleb nodded, visibly pleased and her quick decision.

’’So... What’s your take on it?" Daisy questioned the man again.

’’I have no take on it,’’ the man waved his hand nonchalantly.

The ringing of a phone pierced through the silence in the meeting room.

Everyone looked at each other but Secretary Han whispered something in Daisy’s ears and they saw her nodding before the man took out her phone and handed it to her.

’’Hey sweetheart, how is your day going?" A deep voice reverberated in the room.

The room which was already quiet seemed to have become deathly silent.

Daisy’s gaze swept over everyone present in the place before she strode out of the room gracefully, the sound of her retreating footsteps gradually disappeared.
