’’Mm?" Ryle continued stroking her hair gently as he looked at her face, up so close. The more he looked, the prettier she seemed to him.

Daisy looked at the man for what seemed like a long time and just when he thought she was going to turn him down, she opened her mouth to speak, ’’Very well.’’

Lu Xian’s brows rose in surprise but soon, he composed himself, ’’Are you willing?"

’’But I need you to tell me first about what you need in return for this help that you want to provide,’’ Daisy tilted her head to the side, observing the man as she tapped on the arm of the couch, ’’Tell me what is in it for you?"

He thought she would not think twice before agreeing to this deal but he was taken aback now.

He tried to convince her for a long time but she remained unmoved as if even at this point, she had things under her control at her fingertips.

So, in the end, he could only tell her to contact him in case she changed her mind.

After Lu Xian left, Daisy contemplated for a few minutes before she took out her phone and dialed a number she did not think she would ever dial for help.

It was only on the second ring that the call was answered.

’’Daisy? How are you?" A mature voice came from the other side of the phone. The voice was tinged with a hint of happiness but uncertainty as well, ’’Daisy...?" the man spoke up again.

Helian Chen fell quiet for some time before he spoke up, ’’Is something troubling you? Tell me, I’ll fix whatever it is,’’ the man knew his eldest daughter very well. They did not have the kind of relationship where she would call him because she missed him even though he wanted her to. But he knew that he had let both his daughters down in numerous ways for them to do that. Daisy was inherently stubborn and rooted in her pride hence it was more so difficult for her to come to him for anything.

So, he knew, it must have taken her a lot of thinking and analyzing before she made the call.

And Helian Chen did not want her to change her mind.

’’I need $50 billion,’’ Daisy spoke up after a moment of silence. She glanced at her palm that was lying on her lap, her fingers softly tapping her knees, ’’Is that possible?" she asked.

’’Of course, it is. It’s a small amount. I’ll ask my secretary to wire the money over right now...’’

’’No, wait...’’ Daisy stopped the man who seemed like he did not want to waste another moment before sending her the money that she needed.

’’What happened? Do you need more? Don’t worry. I will make it $100 billion. Whatever you need it for, it’s better to have some extra.’’
