Chapter 132: Shattered Silence

Fifteen minutes earlier...

Back inside the master bedroom, Aliana, who had been sleeping peacefully, finally stirred awake. Her light grey eyes were greeted by the dim natural light filtering into the room through the rain-streaked windows.

Blinking slowly, she shifted slightly to stretch, only to pause when she felt something heavy caging her body.

Very slowly, she turned her head over her shoulder only for her gaze to land on Gavriel’s face. He was sleeping barely inches away from her.

Surprise flickered across her features as she realised it was the first time in her life she had ever seen him asleep.

Her gaze lingered on how calm and remarkably young he looked. A few strands of his dark hair had fallen loosely over his forehead, while his illegally long lashes rested against his cheeks.

’It should be a crime to look like this,’ she mused absentmindedly.

When her eyes drifted down to her own body, colour once again began to rise in her cheeks.

She was dressed only in her soft white robe, which was practically falling open with Gavriel’s arm firmly wrapped around her. His hand was tucked right inside the parted fabric, his palm resting casually over one of her bare breasts.

Her heart skipped a beat at the sight, and the steamy events of last night came pouring back into her mind, instantly jolting her groggy brain awake.

’Gosh, he’s an absolute beast!’ she screamed in her mind, flushing at the memory of how he hadn’t stopped at all, even after the third or fourth round.

But what mortified her even more were the words that had spilled from her own mouth.... begging him to keep going and shamelessly moaning his name into the night.

’Did you get possessed by a harlot, Aliana?’ she asked herself, covering her face with her hands.

Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm her racing heart, but it was impossible to ignore how much she had actually liked it all. Even now, being held so snugly against his heavy frame, she liked the feeling of his warmth.

Wanting to look at his face once again, she uncovered her face and glanced over her shoulder again.

As soon as her eyes landed on him, she froze, only to find him already staring at her through his own lazy blue orbs, and Aliana’s heart nearly leapt out of her chest.

Unable to form a single word, she continued to stare at him when the pressure of his palm tightened against her soft swell.

He tugged her firmly against his chest, burying his nose deep into the crook of her neck before murmuring in a rough, low, sleep-deepened voice, "Go back to sleep."

As his warm breath brushed over her sensitive skin, goosebumps rippled down her arms.

She felt her heart squeezed as a familiar, liquid heat pooled low in her belly at the intense intimacy of his touch.

Flustered, she blurted out in a small, breathless voice, "B-but I’m awake." As soon as she said it, she realised how sore her throat felt because of all the screaming she had done the previous night.

"Hm," he hummed, his deep voice vibrating against her skin.

Without warning, his wicked hand began to slowly wander downward, trailing over the plains of her flat stomach as he suggested, "Then it seems you’re energetic enough to continue right where we left off."

A sharp gasp escaped her lips when his palm pressed against her stomach, only for her to feel his thick, rigid length pressing demandingly against her back once again.

"W-what?" she squeaked.

Her hand instantly flew down to catch his wrist, stopping his hand from travelling any lower before she turned sharply to face him. Her forehead pressed against his as she hissed, "Do you think I am not human, or are you just a beast?"

A shameless, wicked smirk curled his lips at her accusation and he murmured, "Both."

Before she could speak another word, he dived in, sealing her lips. The devil snaked his tongue deep inside her mouth, easily rolling her over so that her back pressed flat against the mattress. He pinned her body beneath his heavy frame as he began devouring her.

A breathless whimper left her lips at how savagely he kissed her, his hands beginning to roam wildly over her skin.

’Oh Lord, it’s happening again,’ Aliana’s panicked voice screamed in her head. freewēbnoveℓ.com

Yet, her hands were already acting on their own, trailing down his ripped back as she realised he was shirtless.

She knew she needed to put a stop to this immediately if she didn’t want to end up passing out right after she had just woken up. freewebnσvel.cѳm

But Gavriel had already skillfully parted her legs and settled himself between them. She felt his fingers trace along the sensitive inner sides of her thighs, as if preparing her for whatever he intended to do next.

Before Aliana could muster the will to stop him, and before his fingers could venture any further, the sharp sound of something shattering downstairs echoed all the way up to their quiet room.

Gavriel and Aliana instinctively broke away from their searing kiss, turning their heads toward the bedroom door. Both of their chest rose and fell with uneven breaths as they remained completely frozen in the ensuing silence.

Turning her wide eyes back to his face, she breathed, "Did you hear that?"

Before he could respond, another series of loud, shattering noises echoed through the penthouse, and Gavriel finally pulled himself off her.

Snatching his robe from the bench at the foot of the bed, he threw it on before marching straight toward the door with an icy glare.

Aliana quickly scrambled out of bed as well, tying her own robe securely around her waist before rushing to follow him.

The sound of breaking glass after every small interval continued, making Aliana’s nerves spike as she and Gavriel hurried down toward the kitchen.

Just as they arrived, her eyes landed on Nigel and Cillian, both standing completely rigid as if they had seen a ghost at the break of dawn.

"What’s going on..." Aliana started to question, but her voice trailed off the moment she followed the exact line of their sight.

Her eyes widened in sheer shock. A petite figure was standing with her back to them, dressed in a black nightgown.

The wet, sloppy sound of someone ravenously devouring food filled the otherwise silent space.

And a disbelieving whisper left Aliana’s lips as she called out, "Jade?"
