"Yun Hao, what are you doing? Put me down! Do you hear me?"
Xu Wenwan was terrified. For the first time, she sensed a vicious streak in Yun Hao—it was as if he wanted to destroy her.
Yun Hao paid her no mind, kicking open Xu Wenwan’s door and carrying her inside.
Xu Wenwan called out to her system, hoping it would help her.
The next moment, Yun Hao threw her onto the bed.
The surface of the fire-heated kang bed had been smoothed over with mud and coated with a waterproof layer, making it incredibly hard. Being thrown down like that, Xu Wenwan felt as if her entire body had been shaken to pieces.
Yun Hao climbed onto the bed, his hands clamping around her neck.
"Speak! Who bit you on the neck? How can you be so shameless? We just got married and you’re already fooling around! Do you have any idea that if I call people over, you’ll be ruined for the rest of your life?"
Xu Wenwan shook her head. "I didn’t. I really didn’t."
"Yun Hao, let go. This is just a misunderstanding. Believe me."
A sarcastic look crossed Yun Hao’s face. ’Believe her? After all the things she’s done, how could I possibly believe her?’
No man could ever tolerate his wife cheating, especially not someone as proud as Yun Hao.
He suddenly tightened his grip, wishing he could just crush her throat.
Xu Wenwan couldn’t breathe, her face flushing crimson. She looked up at Yun Hao, her eyes shimmering as tears welled. If one looked closely, they could see they also held a silent plea.
Yun Hao sneered.
"You’re just a slut."
He slapped Xu Wenwan across the face, then let her go.
"Go make dinner."
Xu Wenwan was speechless.
They had only been married two days, and Yun Hao had done all the cooking. Suddenly being ordered to make dinner herself, Xu Wenwan felt a bit lost.
But one look at Yun Hao’s dark expression told her not to argue. Xu Wenwan didn’t dare delay and immediately got up and went to the kitchen.
There were some grain supplies in the kitchen, all belonging to Yun Hao.
When Xu Wenwan married him, she had brought nothing with her but her own clothes and bedding.
Her grain ration book had been transferred to the village when she returned from the city, but she had come back too late to participate in the collective labor, so she had earned nothing.

Hearing the crying from the kitchen, Yun Hao squeezed his eyes shut in frustration. Not for the first time, he found himself regretting that he hadn’t accepted Gu Jiaojiao’s confession back then.
’If he had married Gu Jiaojiao, maybe his life would be as blissful as Leng Yuan’s.’

That night, Yun Hao ignored Xu Wenwan. In the end, Xu Wenwan never managed to light the fire, so the two of them simply went without dinner and slept on empty stomachs.
