Chapter 881: Chapter 40: The Young Lady of Sky City

This massive staircase can accommodate ten people walking side by side. Several guards holding crystal stone lamps lead the way for illumination, Tianmiao and Master Wuxin follow behind, along with other cultivators. The Great Tributor embedded in the wall of the hall and the loose cultivator had already awakened and silently followed the crowd, feeling deeply embarrassed today, so they dared not make a sound, quietly tagging along to see what was going on.

When everyone descended to the bottom of the staircase, darkness enveloped their sight. But in the next moment, a pair of gigantic eyes appeared in the dark, emitting an ominous red light.

A wave of demonic qi rushed over, utterly repulsive.

The crowd gasped in low voices. There is indeed a Great Demon here! The crystal stone lamps quickly illuminated the place, and everyone inhaled sharply at the sight before them.

This demon’s entire body is as large as the hall above. Its massive head perched atop a spherical body, from which extend eight legs, resembling a giant spider. However, it is evidently not a spider; its body is covered in black scales that shimmer with a cold blue light. These scales seem to carry poison.

No chains bind this Great Demon, yet it cannot move at all—because beneath its body lies a massive array that firmly seals it in place.

"Ants, how dare you disturb me." The Great Demon’s voice resonated like thunder, imbued with great majesty, making hearts tremble.

The crowd flinched at this voice, aligning their gaze with the Great Demon’s red eyes, feeling a chill in their hearts.

"Ants?" Tianmiao sneered as she stepped forward, "How dare you speak to me like that?"

"Careful, miss. This Great Demon is dangerous despite being sealed," the Manor Master urgently voiced, quickly stepping to Tianmiao’s side, attempting to stop her actions.

However, immediately after speaking, the Manor Master wished he could slap himself. Why talk so much? Why talk so much? She can handle herself; does she need your nonsense?

Tianmiao casually drew the longsword from the Manor Master’s waist, still sheathed, and viciously thrust it into one of the Great Demon’s legs. The leg was pierced through, black blood spewing, overwhelmingly foul. The Great Demon let out a horrible scream, deafeningly loud, accompanied by a powerful wave that caused the crowd’s blood and qi to surge.

Everyone present was horrified; this Great Demon is terrifying even when sealed like this, let alone imagining its strength before being sealed. Such a demon must never be released!

While the crowd was overwhelmed with fear, Tianmiao, in utter disdain, dropped the sword, stepping back and covering her mouth and nose.

The Manor Master glanced at his treasure sword still impaled in the demon’s leg, then at Tianmiao’s face of disdain, feeling a subtle emotion.

Nevertheless, he dared not retrieve his treasure sword. He quietly retreated behind Tianmiao.

"Finished yelling? So annoying!" Tianmiao said impatiently, "Scream again, and I’ll pierce another leg."

The Great Demon’s screams stopped abruptly. He knew this human was serious. He had met countless humans, always considering them cunning, shameless, cruel, greedy; even some so-called kindness seemed foolish to him. But this human made him feel completely different, unlike any human he had ever encountered.

For the first time, this human instilled fear in him, a feeling he never had, even when he was sealed.
