Chapter 62: Marica, here they come.
Excitement oozed from every pore on Skyla’s skin as she packed her suitcase and hummed the tone of Blue Bird from Naruto. She couldn’t believe that her boss had winked at her, thinking it over and over, she felt so gooey inside.
Her phone rang and she checked the caller ID. It was Doran and all her happiness was sucked like a vacuum cleaner does to dirt. She picked up the call and said with an elevated heartbeat.
"Hello!"
"Zyair called and I am letting you go. But I need every detail about the meeting. Whom he met and what he signed. And remember to keep your hands to yourself and your legs closed, Skyla. Do I make myself clear?" frёewebηovel.cѳm
His cold and yet flat voice came through the speaker.
"Abundantly," she replied, slightly irked.
"Good, keep your phone with you at all times. I will be calling again."
The call ended after that and Skyla knew he was only letting her go because he wanted information about the company and her boss. She could never dream of betraying Zyair, he had been overly kind to her and she would never betray his trust. She would lie to Doran, her mind was clear on this.
Packing her stuff, Skyla headed down to say goodbye to Madame Maven and Amsilia.
"Be safe and have fun. You are in good hands." Amsilia kissed her head, this girl had wriggled into her heart and she loved her more than her son.
"I will mom, you also take care." Both of them held hands as they bid farewell.
"Here, I baked some fresh doughnuts. Take them along." Madame Maven handed her a rectangular box and hugged her.
"Thank you and goodbye." She waved and rushed outside where Mr. Ramiro was waiting for her.
He respectfully held the door open for her and she climbed inside, they sped off towards the airport.
"She deserves to go out more. Her boss has done what my son couldn’t do for the past eight years," Amsilia confided in Madame Maven who wholeheartedly agreed. freeweɓnovel.cѳm

Zyair was comfortably seated on the plush leather seat of the jet waiting for Skyla. He would impatiently check his watch every few seconds and then start to stare outside.
"Miss Skyla will be here soon." Lawrence was casually sitting opposite him, noting his impatience. Though he appeared busy, his sharp eyes were on his boss.
"I know." The words were barely out of his mouth when Skyla entered the plane with a rectangular box in her hand and a purse on her shoulder. A sigh of relief left him which he desperately tried not to show.
"I hope I am not late," she asked, moving forward and Lawrence quickly got up to guide her to her seat.
"Not at all." Zyair was quick to curb any guilty notion that she might get.
She was seated in his direct line of sight but on the other side.
"Let’s go. Marica City, here we come," Lawrence announced after helping Skyla settle down in her seat.
Zyair was shaking his head at his overly expressive intern while Skyla was comfortably laughing at his enthusiasm.
Once they were airborne, Skyla was reminded of the box in her lap.
"Here, I brought some homemade doughnuts. My madame made it," she extended the box towards Lawrence who leapt on it like a tiger.
Zyair’s eyes gleamed with excitement too at the mention of sweet goodness.
"Don’t you dare eat all of them," Zyair warned him with a dangerous glint flashing in his sapphire eyes.
"Fast and the handsome wins the doughnuts," he raised the box and teased Zyair. Opening the lid he extracted a chocolate-glazed one and began to munch on it.
"So freaking delicious." He licked his lips and Zyair watched him like a jilted man with his eyes narrowed.
"Lawrence, please share them with Mr. Zyair as well," Skyla confined the laughter which was brimming to overflow and politely asked.
"Only because you are saying so. Remember he is never this generous with me. I will never forget the cookies." Lawrence clicked his tongue and extended the box to Zyair. Seeing the opportunity he grabbed two of them and smugly shrugged his shoulders.
The battle of stares and doughnuts commenced between the two males leaving Skyla in jitters.
"Sir, I will sit at the back and go through the file you have sent me on The Urbans," Skyla stated while getting up. Zyair nodded at her, realising she wanted to respect his privacy so he could eat in peace.
She moved to the back from where she couldn’t see him and sat down to read everything available on the company they were signing a new deal with. She not only read the file but also searched deeply through articles to see its standing in the fashion world.
Skyla was impressed by what she had found. The Urbans was a multifaceted company with branches and chains all over the world. It was Zyair’s intention was to have the same exposure for Kincaid International, hence the reason he wanted to shake hands with them.
She was so lost in storing away every possible piece of information that might be helpful in sorting a deal with them that she didn’t realise Lawrence was calling her.
"Miss Skyla, join us."
"I am coming," she called out and quickly got up and headed back to her previous seat.
"So what do you think about them?" Zyair asked, leaning comfortably back in his seat.
"Their stats are pretty impressive and the fact that they deal in so many products is fascinating. They have a vast network, I think a deal with them will surely be beneficial to us. But I think we are offering them a very low price. It should be increased," Skyla concluded, feeling Zyair’s content gaze on her.
He had the knack to make her feel at ease and speak her mind without fear of any humiliating insults.
"Yes, they are the biggest fish in Marica. A deal with them will remove that competitive feel their company might get from us. And we can easily establish our branch there. I wanted to hook them in and offer a price they can’t refuse. We will add a clause that it will be increased in the next few months, considering how the business will bloom."
Zyair’s words only confirmed what Skyla had already been thinking. She nodded in understanding.
"Let’s do it, then," Lawrence announced, gazing up from his tablet and placing the empty doughnut box aside.
"By the way, your ’Desire’ advertisement already garnered 500k likes on Instagram. You should be thanking me. I am the best marketing manager anyone can get."
Lawrence did a happy dance on his seat while Skyla was impressed. She had been following him on Instagram for a while now because of all the anime-related posts he shared. She didn’t know it was Lawrence who handled his Insta.
"As long as it’s getting the job done. Keep doing whatever you are." Zyair added without a care for social media. Lawrence gave a disappointed look to his boss and turned his attention to Skyla.
"Miss Skyla, are you on Instagram?"
His sudden question caught her off guard.
