Chapter 46: Meeting The Anime Department
The Anime Clothing Department was still small and developing. It had a few designers, a production team, a marketing and sales manager and other staff members.
Skyla accompanied Lawrence down to the office where their meeting was to be held. Being an anime fanatic, Lawrence was very much involved in it. Today he had on a Sukuna t-shirt.
"Nice t-shirt," Skyla commented. Lawrence swelled his chest a bit and confidently walked.
"Thank you, Miss Skyla," he dramatically bowed, spreading out his hands and bending his knees. Skyla laughed, placing her hand on her mouth as they reached the meeting room. Lawrence held the door open for her and they entered.
The meeting room was decorated with all kinds of anime posters, even the tables were anime-themed. The people who had gathered
there were not any less like anime characters coming to life. The energy they exuded was nothing like in any other department. All of them were enthusiastically talking and discussing a new arc of One Piece which had recently been introduced.
Skyla loved the very first look of the meeting room and the people inside it.
"Yo! People. Meet Skyla," Lawrence made the fast introduction in his own style.
"Hi!" Skyla greeted them in a cheerful voice and raised her hand.
"Hello!" They chimed and a perky girl with hair dyed in the shade of bubble pink enthusiastically summoned her to sit next to. Skyla obliged. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
"I am Mawar," she extended her dainty hand to Skyla, a bright smile adorning her round face.
"I am Skyla." She shook it and was touched by her warm welcome.
"Believe me, we know. We were so excited when we heard about you and now finally we get to meet you. I can’t wait for you to jump on our fun ship, we are the best team in the company. Right boys," Mawar turned her pinkish head towards the guys who made up the rest of their team and they all nodded in affirmative.
Before Skyla could answer, the door opened again and in walked Zyair, filling the room with his suave presence. His sharp eyes scanned the room and landed on Skyla. Seeing her sitting comfortably in a poised manner made him instantly relax. That gloominess from her seemed to have dissipated to an extent.
"Good morning! Sir."
Everyone stood up seeing him enter and the chatter died down.
"Please! Take your seats," he quietly stated while moving towards the seat at the head of the table, reserved solely for him. Everyone immediately obeyed.
He gracefully seated himself in the armchair that resembled Hokage’s chair from Naruto. Skyla smiled to herself and was reminded of Kakashi when he became the Hokage, only Hokage’s Hat was missing.
"Let’s begin," Zyair stated, placing the red folder on the table Skyla had given him earlier and opening it.
"Firstly I would like to introduce you to Miss Skyla; our new anime advisor. Let’s welcome her to the team."
Lawrence stepped forward with a folded white T-shirt in both of his hands.
"Our welcome gift, the very own designed t-shirt of the team," he announced with pride and ceremoniously presented it to Skyla. She got up from her seat and accepted it, seeming a bit surprised.
"It’s a small custom we started. We present it to every new member who joins us. Because we Anime lovers are awesome to another level. " Mawar winked at her, as the other members clapped and enthusiastically welcomed her.
"Thank you so much. This means a lot," Skyla offered her gratitude, the feeling of being accepted had lifted her crushed spirits. Her eyes wandered over to her boss and he was casually watching her. That hint of care was a prominent emotion in his bluish orbs.
"We are glad to have you," Zyair commented, making her glow like a candle’s flame.
The meeting then commenced with Zyair showing them the characters Skyla had drawn and chosen. The whole team was wholly impressed by her drawing skills and vast knowledge.
The characters were discussed in detail, the materials to be used for the costume designs, the marketing strategies and the event they will hold before Halloween to launch all their new ensembles.
The meeting was extended till lunchtime and was super productive. Skyla was successfully introduced to the team and Zyair was impressed with the way they had welcomed and accepted her.
His belief in her was further cemented when everyone agreed with the character selection and only one or two of them were debated to be replaced.
The meeting finally ended on a high note and Lunch break was declared. Zyair left with Lawrence first while Skyla lingered behind for a few more minutes. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"So how do you find working with Mr. Zyair? No woman has done it before. Is it awkward?" Mawar asked once he was gone.
"Not really, he is very considerate and I am enjoying it so far," Skyla carefully placed her t-shirt into her handbag and smiled at the over-enthusiastic girl.
"Well, he has a heart of gold as much as I have seen and understood him. We all love working for him," Mawar walked Skyla to the door.
"I can imagine that. It was nice meeting you Mawar. Will visit soon," Skyla shook hands with her before taking her leave.
"Likewise girl."
While Skyla slowly walked away, Mawar’s words made her wonder more about him. All that mysteriousness made her intrigued and she wanted to know who the man under the mask really was.
She went to the restroom first to check on her make-up. Extracting a concealer from her bag she smudged more of it on the bruises on her face from her encounter with Doran. She didn’t want anyone to see or there would be hell for her to pay.
Satisfied with her work she washed her hands and threw one final look at herself and she hardly recognised the strong woman she used to be. Remnants of a broken woman stared back at her making her wonder if she would ever be able to put herself back together.
Shaking away the ridiculous overwhelming emotions she exited the restroom.
Her feet carried her to the private lounge and she entered it after opening the door and found Mr. Zyair waiting for her with lunch served. He was calmly standing observing the city with his meticulous eyes.
Opening of the door had him slightly tilting his head and he watched her enter silently. Until she lifted her head and found him staring so keenly at her.
