Chapter 43: Lunch With Huria
The cappuccino Skyla left for Zyair was sipped with relish by the latter. Every drop he found extremely satisfying, the taste was a delight to his taste buds. He knew he would fervently drink even if she brought him coffee beans blandly mixed in hot water. But this was beyond deliciously made and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Although Zyair didn’t want to burden her with the extra chores of bringing him coffee, he knew he was going to be looking forward to her coffee every day now.
The time dragged on for him as Skyla didn’t have lunch, instead, he went on to attend a meeting with another business firm. They were trying to collaborate with him.
His own company was launching a new perfume. Zyair was asked to model for it, his enigmatic presence had been the talk of the town and every product this man advertised for would sell like hotcakes. He went on to star in the ad they were making. The perfume would be launched two days later in a grand ceremony they were planning to hold.

Skyla and Huria met up in a shopping mall.
"Sky, my girl. How are you?" Huria held her tightly pressed against herself in such a stronghold that Skyla was having a hard time breathing.
"L—let go," she breathed out, trying to escape her overexcited friend.
"Sorry, sorry," she removed her arms and Skyla breathed out with a small laugh.
"I am extremely happy. Mr. Zyair is so considerate, I wish more men were like him." She confided in her friend as both of them entered a fashion store so they could buy some new office wear for Skyla.
"Yeah, the world is full of shitty men like your husband but once upon a time, you do stumble upon a diamond. Seems like you have. He is so dreamy," Huria chirped as she took out a hanger with formal wear and handed it over to Skyla.
"Try it."
Skyla laughed and took the dress with her and went to the changing room. She tried it on and a few others Huria kept handing her over.
The teal jumpsuit suited her so well as she emerged from the changing room, Huria’s hand flew to her chest in her typical over-dramatic style as she gaped at her best friend.
"Holy Moly, Sky you look ravishing. This is a must-buy. You gonna be slaying, girl."
Skyla straightened her dress with her hands, the feel of the fabric was just how she wanted as she stared down at it. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"I love it too," she declared with finality.
They bought a few more dresses and Huria didn’t let her pay. Even when Skyla insisted, Huria refused to budge.
"This is my gift to you for turning on a new leaf with this job. No way I am letting you pay."
They moved towards the food court after their shopping spree and chose a pizza joint. Ordering a pepperoni pizza and sodas they sat talking again.
"So when am I meeting your dreamy boss?" Huria sat with her elbows propped on the white table, her hands cupping her face.
"Let me get settled in and once we arrange some event, I will invite you over," Skyla placed her hands on the table and smiled.
"Can’t wait," Huria chimed, swaying her elbows lightly so her face swung left and right too.
"How about that professor you were dating?" Skyla asked.
"Meh! He was boring. We broke up last week, he couldn’t even kiss properly let alone give me pleasure," she sighed. "Men are disappointing unless they belong to The Mirage."
Both friends chuckled at that. Knowing too well what she meant.
"I agree, how can I ever forget that wild night you arranged for me," Skyla’s cheeks blushed red at the thought of Calix. She could swear that man had magic in his hands.
"Yeah, Calix was so dreamy. He was highly demanded by women of the upper class. But he left a few days later and completely disappeared. Women still seek him out, you know but it’s like he vanished."
Huria filled her in with disappointment clouding her face. She always had inside news about the renowned club because her family owned part of the shares.
Skyla beamed with satisfaction, knowing at least he was free of the life he seemed to hate so much. No one should be forced into a life where one couldn’t even have a say in how their body was being used.
"Maybe he got tired of that life and quit," Skyla added and Huria nodded in approval.
"Probably, I wish you could still visit the club. But your husband, ugugh," Huria made retching sounds as the waiter brought their pizza and gave her a queer.
Skyla quickly took the pizza from him and threw an apologetic glance his way.
"I am just happy with this much freedom, can’t push my luck much," Skyla picked up a slice and placed it on her friend’s plate.
"One step at a time my girl. We are going to rid you of him completely. How is your comic coming along?" Huria took a long sip of her soda. Making slurping sounds.
"I am starting uploads from today, it’s more than half completed. It will be tough with my job now but I am motivated to finish it," Skyla told her friend while taking a bite out of her pizza slice.
"That’s my girl. Send me the link when you start uploading. I am going to support you. Anything coming from your brilliant mind and artistic fingers is a treat. I hope you will have millions of readers," Huria excitedly exclaimed, she couldn’t wait for her friend to become famous.
"I will," Skyla answered with a light laugh. Huria’s excitement and motivation were everything to her. Both friends enjoyed their lunch in each other’s company.
Huria then dropped Skyla off outside Kincaid International with a promise that she would be inviting her over soon and introducing her to the enigma called Zyair Kincaid.
