Chapter 278: Painting The Nursery
Zyair accompanied Skyla to her third-month regular check-up. The doctor showed them a tiny creature the size of a lime on a monitor during the ultrasound.
"That’s your baby at three months, it’s developing at a good rate. There seems to be no complications for now."
Skyla squeezed Zyair’s hand as all her motherly instincts kicked in.
"Look at our baby," she choked out, affected down to her bones by what she was seeing on the monitor.
Zyair was an emotional mess too, seeing their child developing and nurturing inside her. The whole sentiment was so beautiful for him. The radiant glow on his wife’s cheeks and tears of joy shining in her eyes turned him even more sentimental.
The doctor kept pointing to the tiny limbs, enlarging the screen and showing them how perfectly the little arms, hands, feet and legs were forming.
"It’s a crucial stage because your baby’s limbs are properly shaping and hardening. Proper intake of calcium is of utmost importance," the doctor explained and both of them nodded.
The ultrasound was completed and Zyair cleaned off the gel from Skyla’s belly, it wasn’t that flat anymore, and a slight bump could be seen.
The doctor printed out the ultrasound and placed it in Skyla’s folder while Zyair helped her get up.
Jotting down a list of new supplements Skyla needed to take and what to avoid, the doctor handed the whole file to her.
"No stress or squatting. Proper sleep and eating patterns and lots of fluids," she instructed with a professional smile.
"I will do that and will keep all precautions in mind." Skyla accepted the file with gratitude and shook hands with her.
"Thank you! Doctor for your time and efforts." Zyair showed his appreciation as well as he helped Skyla.
Skyla was clutching the file to her heart when they walked out of the hospital. Kail held the door open for them as both of them climbed into the backseat of the car.
Once the car began to move Skyla opened the file and took out the ultrasound. Tracing her fingers on the baby she leaned her head on Zyair’s broad shoulder and ardently whispered.
"We created a baby together, look how tiny he is."
Zyair placed his index finger on hers and began to trace it alongside her. He murmured back.
"I still can’t believe we are going to become parents. This baby will shape our lives in a way we don’t even know yet. I can feel it."
"We will try our best. I want to set up the nursery. Can I order everything now?" They had been holding back going shopping in case the news leaked out.
Zyair had suggested earlier they could order online whenever she was ready to set up the room.
"Of course, my love. Go for it. We will decorate it together, and paint it with our hands. Our baby will have the best of everything." A loving kiss he placed on Skyla’s head as they both kept staring at the tiny creature that resided in her womb.

Once all the baby stuff both of them had ordered arrived, Skyla and Zyair began working on the room. It used to be Skyla’s parents’ room. She had decided to use it as a nursery for her baby.
Zyair wanted to paint the room pink and have everything in the pinkish shade for he was confident that they were having a baby girl. Skyla wanted a neutral colour in case they had a boy.
"Let’s settle for pine green. We can always change it later," Skyla suggested as she held the catalogue of colours in her hand and pointed. Zyair peeked from above her shoulder and nodded.
"Not bad, let’s go with it."
Buckets of pine green paint were bought and brought home. The room had been emptied and covered with plastic sheets.
"I would like to help in painting it," Skyla enthusiastically informed Zyair. Although he was a bit anxious about letting her paint in this condition he didn’t want to curb her spirit.
"I will manage the upper parts, no climbing the ladder," he instructed and Skyla wholeheartedly agreed.
Skyla and Zyair both changed into blue denim jumpers. Tying her auburn hair into a tight ponytail she tied a bandana to her head to keep the hair from falling in her eyes.
Zyair opened up the paint cans, both of them grabbed rollers and started painting the nursery of their unborn child.
It was tedious work but both of them were determined. Skyla had turned on some music, she was dancing, singing along as she painted. Zyair would occasionally turn to watch her sway her hips as the roller went smoothly over the wall, coating it in a beautiful shade of green.
"That ass moves quite nicely, I love it when you are happy and openly express it." Zyair had moved behind Skyla, as she turned to face him. He flicked her nose with the paint-covered index finger and guffawed seeing her nose turned mossy green. ƒrēewebnovel.com
Skyla scoffed in her cute way which Zyair always found attractive.
"Zyyy! That was a declaration of paint war." She jerked the roller in his direction. The droplets of paint flew and landed on Zyair’s jumper, face and raven hair. Spraying everything green, making him look as if he had walked under the teal-shaded rain. freewebnoveℓ.com
Skyla pointed at him and laughed hysterically while Zyair stalked towards her and soon had her caged in his big arms. He affectionately cooed in her ear.
"You are one naughty girl."
"Ahm! You started it." She giggled back, filling the room with her sonorous voice. He watched her mesmerised, never getting enough of his pretty wife with red hair.
The room painting session halted and turned into a make out session as their lips crashed and began to explore each other’s softness.
They only broke apart when Madame Maven knocked on their door and announced that dinner was ready.
"We are continuing this in the shower," he announced, picking her up and marching out of the uncompleted room. Rest they will do tomorrow, for now his wife needed to eat and be bathed.
