Chapter 477: 477: A Furious Frostborn

There was one thing Elder Mulon realized before his death.

And it was a realization that terrified him and shook his soul.

He had never left the auction hall.

All the walking and talking he did with the demon he thought was the young master had actually been fake.

He had no idea how this was possible.

What sort of illusion was this?

How was it so powerful?

Elder Mulon had so many questions, but he could not ask them because Simon did not give him the opportunity to.

Meanwhile, Simon watched Elder Mulon’s corpse fall to the ground with an indifferent expression.

As a Fiend, he had just killed a Greater Demon.

A Prime Greater Demon.

This was an unbelievable feat even in Simon’s opinion.

Even he could not completely believe that he had succeeded.

However, he also knew that the main reason why he succeeded was because of three things.

Hollow Sky Eyes.

The Chaos Blade.

His vast and unique mental energy.

Without these three things, he would not have been able to kill the old Frostborn.

Simon exhaled deeply, then he looked at the Sword Daemon’s mask.

"Well, you were also very helpful too."

His lips could not help but curl up into a smile, and he knew why.

He felt proud of his achievement.

He could not fight a Greater Demon one on one, but killing one as a Fiend was a feat he was genuinely happy with.

Another reason why he was happy is because the corpse of the old Frostborn was going to be very valuable to him.

’I might be able to get ice affinity from his corpse.’

He walked to the corpse and transferred it into his spatial ring, then he did the same for the Sword Daemon’s mask.

A second after he did this, a roar of fury shook the very air and dense fog around him.

"ELDER MULON!!!!!!!"

Simon looked in a particular direction with cold eyes, but in the next moment, his eyes could not help but widen.

"Shit."

He jumped back, then he jumped to the air with the Chaos Blade placed directly in front of him in a defensive position.

A second later...

Bang!

Boom!

Massive glaciers suddenly rose from the ground, and they rose to the ceiling of the auction hall at a fast speed.

"Tch."

Simon clicked his tongue, and in the blink of an eye, he changed his stance midair.

He tightened his grip on the Chaos Blade, then he swung down at the glacier that was about to crash into him.

The Chaos Blade cut through the ice block like it was butter, and it split in two.

Bang!

Bang!

The two split parts of the glacier fell on the ground and shattered into pieces, and Simon landed gently on the ground a few seconds later.

But he was not even given a single second to rest.

Whoosh!

Simon heard the wind getting pierced to his left, and he quickly placed the Chaos Blade in a defensive position.

Clang!

A pure white spear struck the chaos blade, and Simon was forced to take a step back due to the power behind the spear.

However, Simon stood his ground, then he looked beyond the spear.

Holding the spear was the Frostborn prodigy... Lucien.

"You bastard. Where is Elder Mulon?" The prodigy growled with a furious expression.

He radiated so much killing intent to the point that Simon could not help but wonder if the old Frostborn was related to the young master of House Mercer.

Simon indifferently tilted his head, and with an utterly indifferent tone and expression, he responded.

"He’s dead."

The icy blue glass eyes of the prodigy shook, then he gritted his teeth and held his spear tighter.

He was a Frostborn, and if there was one thing Frostborn’s were known for, it’s the ability to remain in nearly all situations.

Their high affinity with the ice element did not only mean that they could control the ice element.

They were also like ice... cold and calm in nearly all situations.

But Lucien could barely control the raging flames of fury that was burning in his heart.

Elder Mulon was not related to him in any way, but he was one of the elders that greatly supported him and could die for him.

He values Elder Mulon a lot, and he had benefited a great deal from the old demon.

What made Lucien so furious is that he could do nothing as Elder Mulon died.

From the moment Elder Mulon ran back into the auction hall, he saw what happened.

He saw a demon wearing his face approach the elder from the stairs, then he saw them converse. freewebnσvel.cøm

When he saw this, he believed that the elder had a plan in mind and was only entertaining this impostor to maybe draw out his associates... if he had any.

And why wouldn’t he?

The impostor was only wearing his face.

His clothes, aura, body structure, manner of speaking, and even demonic energy was vastly different.

If this was an assassin, then it was definitely a novice assassin because even a child would not fall for such a trick.

Talk less of Elder Mulon who was a Greater Demon.

However, the longer they conversed, the more he realized that something was wrong.

Elder Mulon was not showing any signs of being wary of being cautious toward the impostor.

He was conversing with the impostor like he would converse with him... the real young master of House Mercer.

The moment the elder said that they should meet up with the other noble demons and slaves, that was when he knew that something was wrong.

He watched as Elder Mulon started walking circles round the auction hall like a fool, and the impostor was walking right behind the elder and conversing with him.

At that point, it was obvious that something was wrong, and that was when he stepped in.

Or... he made an attempt to step in.

’But this bastard placed a high level illusion formation around the auction hall.’ Lucien thought with veins popping out of his neck, arms, and forehead.
