Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Capturing the Siblings Alive

Chapter 77: Capturing the Siblings Alive

Seeing her only remaining family member flee again, Kimiko was frantic, charging up the debris to pursue him through the breach above. The figures of the two siblings quickly vanished into the sunlight.

Butcher coughed violently, choked by the falling dust. He raised his rifle, about to clamber over the rubble and give chase.

"Butcher! Stop!" Frenchie grabbed Butcher’s arm in a vice grip, shouting, "We have to pull out right now! Didn’t you see? Even Homelander showed up personally, which means there’s a damn good chance the entire roster of The Seven is out today. The Deep, A-Train, Homelander are all here—Stormfront and Soldier Boy must be close by!" fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

Frenchie pointed at the pile of debris. "Homelander will break through that rubble in a matter of seconds. When he gets out, we’re all fucking dead! We have to leave while we can!"

Butcher stared fixedly at the breach above. He hadn’t caught that Supe-Terrorist yet! He didn’t have the ironclad evidence to tear down Vought! More importantly, Mallory had promised him that once the job was done, she would hand over Becca’s address! He was just one step away! Running away like a stray dog now—Butcher would rather die than accept it!

"No time! Move!" Mother’s Milk rushed over too, snagging Butcher by the collar. Ultimately, reason triumphed over madness. Letting out a thoroughly humiliated curse, Butcher had no choice but to follow Frenchie and Mother’s Milk. Before Homelander could completely break free, they made a desperate, undignified escape through an exceptionally well-hidden sewage pipe.

As for Kimiko... though Frenchie was worried sick, Kenji was her biological brother after all. It was only natural for her to pursue him, and Frenchie could only let her go.

Up on the surface, Kenji ran panting into a residential parking lot packed with vehicles, frantically searching for an exit.

Thud! A silhouette tackled him straight to the ground—it was Kimiko! Pinning her brother’s shoulders down, she frantically flashed sign language. She told her brother she loved him, her dust-covered face awash with despair and pleading. Looking at his sister, a flash of painful internal struggle crossed Kenji’s eyes. Yet, right in the middle of this tender sibling moment...

"Hey, you two." Holding his shield, Benjamin paced forward slowly, looking down at the desperate siblings from his imposing height. "Found you at last, you little shits."

Soldier Boy?! Kenji and Kimiko’s pupils contracted, staring at the shield-bearing monster. They had seen this man’s terrifying combat record on television. Not long ago, he had defeated over thirty Supes completely unscathed—the original, most powerful Supe of all time.

Run! That was the singular thought that flashed through both of their minds simultaneously. Faced with a monster of this echelon, they didn’t have the slightest desire to fight. Kimiko yanked her brother’s hand, and the two bolted.

"Think you can run?" Benjamin sneered, giving chase. With a sudden, violent flick of his wrist, his shield left his hand! In an instant, the shield sliced cleanly into Kimiko’s waist from behind with absolute precision!

"Ah!" Accompanied by a piercing shriek, the shield severed Kimiko’s spine and half her abdomen in a split second, a torrent of blood spraying outward. She collapsed heavily onto the ground, while the shield embedded itself deep into the wall of a nearby residential building with a resonant clang, smashing a massive hole into it. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

The Black residents inside were startled, though fortunately, when the shield was hurled, its kinetic energy had been largely absorbed by Kimiko’s body; otherwise, it likely would have blasted straight through the wall and killed some of the tenants. Hearing the commotion, the family peeked out the window, realizing it was actually Soldier Boy. From the looks of it, Soldier Boy was hunting down a Supe-Terrorist.

"Sister!!" Seeing Kimiko collapsed in a pool of blood, Kenji, who was running ahead, felt his eyes near bursting with rage. He spun around, glaring furiously at Soldier Boy. Roaring, Kenji unleashed every shred of telekinetic power in his body without reservation!

Vrum! An invisible force instantaneously blanketed the entire parking lot. Under the control of his terrifying telekinesis, a dozen parked cars hoisted clean into the air, hovering mid-flight! Then, the vehicles came thundering down toward Benjamin with maniacal force!

The onlookers broke into a cold sweat, worried that if Soldier Boy was crushed to death, those Supe-Terrorists might turn on them. However, what these residents failed to realize was that if Soldier Boy had been a step slower, the one who would have slaughtered them wouldn’t have been a Supe-Terrorist, but the superhero Stormfront.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Deafening explosions echoed consecutively. Benjamin didn’t have the slightest intention of dodging, casually letting the heavy cars blanket and bury his body entirely.

Taking in the sight, Kenji panted heavily, a flash of vengeful satisfaction flickering in his eyes. Even if it didn’t injure Soldier Boy, it should at least buy some time, just like moments ago in the tunnel. However, his satisfaction lasted less than three seconds.

Crackle... An explosion suddenly echoed from within the pile of vehicles. Immediately following that—Boom! The pile of wreckage, weighing dozens of tons, was violently blown outward in all directions by a terrifying blast, looking as flimsy as sheets of Styrofoam.

It was fortunate that Benjamin had slightly restrained the output of his radioactive blast; otherwise, the flying wreckage and debris might have leveled the entire residential building. The tenants were startled once more, staring at Benjamin in absolute awe. A few smarter residents bolted from the scene, while the less astute ones remained rooted to the spot, staring blankly at the spectacle.

Standing in the center of the ruins, Benjamin brushed a speck of dust off his suit. Let alone sustaining an injury, not a single strand of his hair was out of place. Facing Level 6 Durability, an impact of this echelon was utterly useless.

"Is that all you’ve got?" Benjamin closed in slowly.

"This is impossible..." Kenji was completely dumbfounded. He stared fixedly at the unscathed monster before him, his brain short-circuiting entirely. Benjamin didn’t give him any more time to think.

Benjamin took a single step forward, activating [Super Speed: Lv1] as he blurred in front of Kenji. A fist the size of a ham slammed into Kenji’s face.

Thud! Kenji’s eyes rolled back as he collapsed onto the ground, completely unconscious. Benjamin pulled a pair of Vought-custom high-strength alloy handcuffs from his waist, pinning the boy’s hands securely behind his back. As long as he couldn’t wave his hands to manifest his power, the kid was effectively powerless.

Completing the task, Benjamin turned around to look at the ground. By now, Kimiko’s freakish healing factor had already kicked in. The horrific gash at her waist was knitting back together at a visually striking pace. Kimiko was currently struggling to push herself up from the pavement to keep fighting.

Benjamin strode forward, planting his boot squarely on Kimiko’s back to stomp her right back into the ground just as she had half-risen. Without wasting words, Benjamin leaned down, his hands clamping onto Kimiko’s head with absolute efficiency, and gave it a violent twist!

Snap! The sharp crunch of fracturing bone echoed. Kimiko’s neck was instantly snapped, her head lolling uselessly to the side as she fell into a state of suspended animation once more. Before her healing factor could reset, Benjamin pulled out Vought-custom ropes, binding Kimiko tightly like a wrapped bundle.

The skirmish concluded in less than a minute. Cheers erupted from the watching tenants as they looked at Soldier Boy, who had dispatched the two Supe-Terrorists with such ruthless efficiency. In their eyes, Soldier Boy was unimaginably powerful.

Right then, accompanied by a crackle of purple lightning, Stormfront finally arrived on the scene. Taking in the two captured Supe-Terrorists on the ground and Benjamin casually drawing on a cigar with an utterly unfazed expression, a brief look of surprise washed over Stormfront’s sharp features.
