Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Stormfront Joins the Team
Chapter 46: Stormfront Joins the Team
Benjamin looked at her and shook his head. "You can’t join either."
"Why?" Stormfront’s voice suddenly pitched higher, her brows knitting together as she said softly, "Ben, come on... we used to be married. Did you forget?"
Her breathing was a bit shallow, her chest heaving beneath her trench coat. "We fought side-by-side for so many years, and now you’re telling me that your own wife can’t join your team?"
Homelander stood in the back, quietly enjoying the drama. So this was his father’s former wife? He sized Stormfront up, able to sense a decent amount of power radiating from her. And by the looks of it, she might possess a near-immortal physiology just like his father. Granted, Stormfront still wasn’t as powerful as him. He was absolutely certain of that. As for Benjamin being immortal, it was no longer a secret to the general public anyway—after all, Benjamin was just that powerful.
Benjamin asked, "Alright, let me ask you a question first. If you’re out on a mission and you happen to see a black person walking past, what do you do?"
Stormfront didn’t even blink. "Take them out, obviously."
"Fuck." Benjamin closed his eyes and took a deep breath, completely speechless. "Stormfront, this is exactly why I won’t let you into The Seven, goddamn it. If you could drop that unhinged worldview of yours, maybe I’d sign off on it for old time’s sake. If you join, Vought is completely fucking finished. I’m turning this into a real superhero company, do you understand me? A real one, not a performance. Your ideology is completely antithetical to what I’m doing. Now get the fuck out of my sight."
"Oh my god, Ben." Stormfront tilted her head as she looked at him, the smile fading from her lips, replaced by a look of disappointment and incomprehension. "When the fuck did you become so naive? Superheroes? Give me a fucking break, alright? This world has never been run on justice and kindness. If justice and kindness actually mattered, why would human history be riddled with so many wars? Why? Everything runs on power. Supe power. We stand above ordinary humans—that’s a fact, not something you can just pretend doesn’t exist. You’re dead set on running some superhero company, playing house with these weak little pussies... Who’s to say that once we Supes take charge, wars won’t vanish entirely, and even fewer people will die?"
Homelander stroked his chin. Why does that actually make some sense? fгeewebnovёl.com
Benjamin raised his hand again, unleashing a punch even heavier than the last, sending her flying backward until she slammed into a lamppost. But Stormfront didn’t fall; instead, the look in her eyes grew increasingly ecstatic. All those decades ago, Stormfront used to beg Benjamin to hit her... and probably a hell of a lot harder than this, too.
"Listen to me, Ben." She wiped the blood from her lip, her tone turning even softer. "I know you really want to have a fun time with me. We haven’t... in ages. But don’t get too worked up. I promise you, I’ll restrain myself from now on and play along with this little superhero house of yours. Alright? Ben, let me join The Seven."
Benjamin stared at the flush creeping across her disciplined features, falling silent for a moment. He was completely speechless, even suspecting that this was exactly why Clara had fallen for him in the first place. Stormfront was a woman who got off on being beaten up. God only knew how his predecessor had fallen in love with such a freak. In the universe of The Boys, freaks were everywhere, each one weirder than the last—except for himself.
He pulled his punch back. "Get the fuck out of here. Report to Vought tomorrow. I’m going to have Ashley roll out some new regulations for Vought’s Supes. If you don’t follow them, I will beat the absolute shit out of you again and kick you right out of The Seven. Do you hear me loud and clear?"
"Hey, baby." Stormfront wiped away the last trace of blood from her face, the smile on her lips fully restored, carrying a lingering trace of post-beating satisfaction. "Just beat me up all you want. That’s a reward for me, isn’t it?"
Having said her piece, she launched herself off the ground. Electricity crackled across Stormfront’s body, the slipstream billowing her trench coat into a taut arc behind her. She streaked across the New York night sky in a nearly invisible trajectory, quickly vanishing into the sprawling lights of Manhattan. freёwebnovel.com
"Fuck. Goddamn super flight. I hate flying."
Hearing this, Homelander kept his face rigid, fighting back a laugh—unless he wanted to get beaten up by his old man.

Soon, the two finished their walk and returned to their respective apartments. Although Homelander secretly wanted to move in with Benjamin, Benjamin had shut down the idea, reaming him out as a pussy, so he abandoned the notion... Regardless, they saw each other every single day, and if they stayed out drinking late at night, Homelander could always fake being drunk so his father would fly him home.
The moment Benjamin returned, the system’s voice chimed.
[Notification: You have made Homelander, who has spent half his life in isolation, experience what a father-son bond truly feels like—especially the scenario of father and son fighting side-by-side against their enemies. Benjamin couldn’t even be bothered to curse at the system anymore.
