Chapter 151: Alessia and Zoey [1]

Chapter 150

───────────

Episode 34 - Alessia and Zoey [1]

─────────────────────────────────

’Where is she?’

My senses swept through every corner of the Auction House.

The battles that had destroyed the entire dome were taking place everywhere.

Even so, very few people had died. At this point, unless one of the two sides withdrew,

The fight over the seven rings would continue for hours.

’Ah, there she is.’

I sensed three presences; two of them were brutally beating the other, who was far weaker.

And from what I could tell, the weaker side was using light-attribute mana, so without hesitation, I ran toward them.

It was a little far away, but I should get there in less than a minute.

"H-Hey, wait a second, where exactly are we supposed to be going?"

Behind me, the Shitty Witch followed.

"Shut up and don’t talk."

Along the way, I occasionally came across groups fighting each other.

However, most of them were very weak, so I didn’t have much trouble killing them all.

I finally arrived at a large door. Without hesitation, I kicked it open, destroying it as I entered a vast hall.

The space before me was enormous, and after entering the room, the first thing I saw was two men about to kill a nearly unconscious woman, lying on the floor.

The two villains turned their heads toward me in surprise.

"W-What... a 6-Star..."

"Shit, kill her now..."

The world around me became completely slow.

Using the Twenty-Four Steps of Space, I moved and reached the duo in less than a second.

Next, I swung my sword dozens of times, and shortly afterward, the world around me returned to normal.

"..."

"..."

Pieces of flesh, bone, blood, and organs cut into tiny cubes fell to the ground.

Blood spread across the floor. Noticing this, I tested one of the traits I had obtained in the Memory Gate.

Using Spatial Movement, every trace of the slaughter that had been there vanished.

Using my senses, I moved every part of the two villains’ bodies far away from my location.

’Spatial Movement only allows me to move things to certain places using my imagination or my senses.’

It was quite convenient, considering you could erase a crime scene.

"What was that?"

The Shitty Witch asked. However, ignoring her, I crouched down in front of Clana.

Using my senses, I noticed that her heart was about to stop.

’I arrived just in time.’

I carefully laid Clana down and noticed a large hole in her chest.

Then, without wasting any time, I took out my sword.

Using my sword, I made a thin cut on my forearm.

Blood flowed out, and drops fell onto the hole in Clana’s chest. The moment the blood landed there,

Every wound on her body regenerated in less than a second.

Her body temperature returned, the hole in her chest disappeared, and her heart began beating normally.

Next, even her mana was completely restored.

’Phew, good. She should wake up soon.’

I waited a few seconds; however, she didn’t wake up.

I sat her up and leaned her against the pillar behind her, then shook her.

"Hey, wake up."

"..."

"Wake up, Sleeping Beauty."

That last part was a joke. In any case, Clana reacted, and shortly afterward, she opened her eyes.

She blinked as her expression turned into one of complete confusion.

She looked around, and a moment later, she stared directly at me.

Shortly after, I stood up and let out a sigh.

"You’re okay now."

I made my voice sound slightly different from my own to keep her from recognizing me.

Clana looked at me while pursing her lips.

"W-what happened... what’s going on with those two who...?"

"I already killed them, don’t worry about that."

Clana looked at me and blinked in surprise. Shortly afterward, she nodded and looked down at her body.

A confused expression appeared on her face, and then she looked back at me.

"What happened to my body? I was sure that..."

"I healed you. Well, anyway, we need to leave. This place is dangerous, and there are probably more people who want to kill you."

Clana nodded and then asked,

"Who are you?"

"Me? Well... Mhm, I’m a prophet. I already knew you were going to be in danger and that you were coming to Black City, so you could say I’m your protector."

".....?"

Her expression clearly said she didn’t believe a word of it.

But what could I do? Besides, there was actually a reason for creating a fake identity.

"Now that I look at you, that mask... wait, weren’t you that short woman from earlier...?" freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

It was then that Clana looked at the Shitty Witch, who was silently watching the two of us.

"And that woman, the Witch of Depravity..."

I nodded and said,

"Yes, that was me. I was disguised as a woman at the time. Besides, I approached you deliberately. Ah, and whether you believe I’m a prophet or not is up to you, but the fact that I’m your protector doesn’t change."

"Protector?"

Clana tilted her head.

"It means exactly what it sounds like. I protect you when you’re in danger, and I stay close enough to you whenever I know you’ll be in danger in the future, like what happened just before I arrived."

Clana opened her mouth as if to say something, but then closed it.

She narrowed her eyes and stared at me.

’She should believe me a little more, shouldn’t she?’

With everything that had happened, even if I couldn’t show her proof that I was a "prophet" or her "protector," she would eventually believe it.

After all, Clana is a character who will constantly be in danger, and here in Black City was only the first of many dangers to come.

So one of the reasons for creating this fake identity was to protect her under the pretense that I was a prophet.

If I were acting as Adel, then I couldn’t be sure how Clana would see me.

In any case, I chose a fake identity because it was easier to act this way in front of her than to be myself as Adel.

Besides, it would maintain a great deal of mystery around me in Clana’s eyes.

’There’s a lot to gain from a fake identity.’

I extended my hand toward her. Clana looked at my hand and then at me.

"Come on, we need to leave, so trust me for now. I’ll get you out of Black City and send you back to the Imperial Capital."

Clana stared at me for a few seconds before taking my hand.

I helped her up from the ground. Shortly afterward, she dusted off her skirt and blouse.

Then I stepped closer to her and said,

"Sorry for doing this, but we don’t have much time."

"Huh, what do you mean...?"

Wrapping my arms around Clana in an embrace, I felt her tense up as she protested.

"H-hey, let go of me..."

However, ignoring her, I turned toward the Shitty Witch and said,

"You, wait here. I need your help with something in about three minutes."

First, I had to take Clana to the cave where I had created the Teleportation Matrix.

Second, I had to find the other main characters, such as Alessia and Zoey, and tell them to go to the cave.

Lastly, with the Shitty Witch’s help, I needed to steal the seven rings and escape.

When it came time to escape, everyone would probably stop fighting and focus on me, so I would have to move as quickly as possible.

’There are only eight minutes left before the Eyes of the End are forcibly sealed.’

I could only use the Eyes of the End for ten minutes; otherwise, the system would seal them as a precaution.

"W-wait a second, where are you supposed to be going? What if I die here?"

Ignoring the Shitty Witch, I turned toward Clana, who was trying to free herself from my embrace.

"We’re leaving."

"Wait, let go of me..."

Mana surged out of my body, and in the next second, two wings grew from my back.

Wings made of Dark Mana, each at least three meters long. It was one of the abilities I had learned over the last month thanks to the Dark Attribute.

Flap! Flap!

The wings on my back moved, and using mana in my legs, I leaped upward.

The wings fluttered and propelled me forward with force.

Using mana to create a protective layer around myself and Clana, I pierced through the dome’s ceiling and emerged outside.

The very next second, I flew toward the cave, beating my wings.

Clana clung tightly to me as the air around us crackled, and within a minute, I arrived at the cave.

I entered and shortly afterward reached the Teleportation Array.

I set Clana down and said as she staggered slightly:

"Use the Teleportation Array. It will take you to the outskirts of the Imperial Capital. You’ll be safe there and can return to the Academy."

Clana said nothing. She simply looked around, then at the Teleportation Array, and finally at me.

"Well, I... uh, thank you for helping me."

"There’s no need to thank me. I am your protector, and my job is to protect you when you’re in danger."

Clana stared at me and asked: freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

"Why do you protect me? What do you gain from protecting me?"

As I turned around to return to Black City, I said:

"That’s a secret."

Shortly afterward, I spread the wings on my back and returned to Black City in approximately one minute.

Soaring through the sky, I pulled out a plaque from my Inventory.

Aside from communication through telepathy, the plaque also had a tracking function.

So, using mana, I tracked the location of the main characters and soon flew in their direction.

’It’s a problem that I can’t track Alessia’s and Zoey’s locations.’

Though perhaps the two of them are with the others, looking for a way to escape while coming up with a plan.

’Yeah, they should all be gathered together.’
