Chapter 1358: Chapter 719: Mo Han and Wanwan Arc - Xi Mohan Feels Depressed

Ning Wan felt that staying in the hotel was too boring, so she suddenly decided to find the hotel’s tour guide to go out for a stroll. But after half an hour of walking, she felt no enthusiasm at all, and her expression showed that she was not in a good mood, even though she listened to the guide’s introductions.

The hotel provided a tour guide who was a young man around twenty years old. Ning Wan had already learned while on the bus that the young man was a college student, working part-time as a tour guide at this hotel.

Having likely noticed Ning Wan’s lack of interest, the young man looked at her with a gentle smile and asked, "Miss Ning, do you find this place uninteresting? Actually, this city has a famous food street selling a lot of delicious foods, including snacks from your hometown. Although it’s a bit far, if you want to go, we can take a taxi..."

Ning Wan glanced at the young man and pursed her lips. She felt it was her problem, after all, the guide was indeed doing his best with the introductions and fulfilling his duties. Her behavior did seem a bit temperamental.

She gave a smile, although a bit forced, and said, "Let’s go there first. It’s around lunchtime now anyway. I’ll treat you to lunch."

The young man initially wanted to refuse because normally, men treat women to a meal. But considering his limited living expenses and the fact that his salary hadn’t been paid yet, he nodded, "Then thank you."

"I should be thanking you for spending time to accompany me."

The young man felt a bit embarrassed and said, "It’s my job."

Ning Wan smiled without saying anything.

Because she didn’t have her phone with her, she couldn’t call Xi Mohan.

Instead of choosing a taxi, they took a bus. Unlike domestic buses, most buses here were double-decker with the upper deck open-air, allowing one to fully appreciate the scenery along the way.

After about ten minutes, the bus arrived at the food street the young man mentioned. However, compared to the food streets back home, this one was significantly less lively.

The day before she was brought here, she had gone to An City’s food street with Song Qiao. In comparison, she felt An City’s food street was the real deal, as it was almost entirely filled with food vendors, the whole street full of various snacks.

This food street, on the other hand, seemed a bit desolate, with not much food being sold. But Ning Wan didn’t care much due to her low spirits, so she just randomly picked a restaurant and entered.

...

Xi Mohan was staying at the hotel, feeling very gloomy thinking about Ning Wan playing outside.

He intended to focus on work, but his inner frustration was uncontrollable. Before long, he stood up and walked out.

The receptionist, who was chatting with her head down, was startled by a sudden voice, "What’s the tour guide’s phone number?"

The receptionist quickly looked up at Xi Mohan standing before her, hurriedly stood up, and said, "Sir, are you looking for that tour guide now? Please wait a moment, I’ll find his number for you right away."

She started to look for the number on her phone.

Xi Mohan hesitated when he saw the receptionist’s action and spoke when she was about to tell him the number, "Just call and ask where he’s taking my person now. I’ll go over myself."

The receptionist was briefly confused but quickly understood and nodded, "Alright, please hold on."

"Don’t tell them I’m looking for them," the man added.

Although she didn’t understand his intentions, the receptionist didn’t ask further and directly dialed the tour guide’s number.

...

Twenty minutes later, Xi Mohan drove himself to the food street. His eyes landed on a restaurant’s window seat, and his brows furrowed, but he didn’t immediately get out of the car.

Ning Wan originally wasn’t in the mood, but after tasting the food, she felt much better. She was so caught up in the meal that she couldn’t help but praise, "I didn’t expect this place to be so inconspicuous, yet the food here tastes really good."

The young man also smiled, initially a bit embarrassed, but now he responded directly to the happy Ning Wan, "This restaurant is quite affordable. My classmates and I often come here to eat. If Miss Ning finds the taste good, you can come again tomorrow. They say new dishes will be introduced here."

Ning Wan nodded, "Sure."

Anyway, since Xi Mohan has been busy with work lately and staying at the hotel is dull, going out more often is good for her. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be nice if she became ill from being cooped up.

The two were chatting and enjoying the food without noticing the man approaching them. When Ning Wan sensed an odd atmosphere around them, she hadn’t swallowed her food yet. Looking up, she saw the man standing beside their table, instantly choking on her food and began coughing violently.

Xi Mohan looked down at the coughing girl. His expression was still unpleasant but he sat beside Ning Wan and raised his hand to pat her back.

The man’s face remained grim, his voice carrying a stern tone as he spoke, "It’s amazing you’re still alive, being so careless while eating."

Ning Wan, "..." This man was truly sharp-tongued.

The young man sitting opposite Ning Wan watched this handsome man, who appeared out of nowhere, swallow his food before cautiously asking, "Miss Ning, do you know this gentleman?"

He could tell the man’s identity was definitely not simple; his clothes were obviously expensive, and his demeanor suggested he wasn’t an ordinary person.

Xi Mohan glanced at the young man, coldly chuckling inwardly.

Couldn’t he see he’d already sat down and was helping Ning Wan with her back? Would he do all this if he didn’t know her?

The young man was quite calm and even looked good.

But recalling how Ning Wan was chatting and laughing with this young man, Xi Mohan’s mood became depressed, feeling distinctly unhappy.
