Chapter 1321: Chapter 681: If You Don’t Behave, I Don’t Mind Taking Action
The bodyguard still ignored her, directly pushing the wheelchair to the Maybach parked by the roadside, then walked over to open the car door, and respectfully spoke to the man inside, "Sir, I have completed the discharge procedures for Second Lady Ning."
As the car door opened, when Ning Wan saw the man seated inside, her expression on her petite face froze instantly, her eyes revealing a look of shock.
Xi... Xi Mohan...
Why is this man here?
Instinctively, she glanced at the bodyguard beside her, who remained expressionless, standing firmly like a statue.
Ning Wan pressed her lips together, sitting in the wheelchair, lowering her eyes to look at the floor in front of her without speaking.
Initially, she thought Xi Mohan wouldn’t come, but she hadn’t expected that he had been waiting in the car all along, yet hadn’t come up to accompany her out of the hospital.
This inexplicably made her feel a sense of displeasure, as if she had suddenly been abandoned again, with no one to care for her.
As she lowered her head, staring at the floor in front of her, a figure suddenly appeared in her line of sight.
Instinctively, Ning Wan raised her eyes to look, her gaze falling into the man’s deep eyes, causing her heart to skip a beat.
Xi Mohan lightly pressed his thin lips together, looking down at her and asking indifferently, "Do you plan to sit on this street all night?"
Ning Wan, upon hearing this, was slightly irked but stubbornly turned her head to look the other way, speaking with a bit of frustration, "Sitting here all night has nothing to do with you."
"Ning Wan!" The man’s tone suddenly deepened, directly calling her name.
The girl turned her head to look at him, her eyes inexplicably reddened, "Why are you shouting so loudly? I’m not deaf, I can hear you."
The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt, and her nose began to tingle with a sour sensation.
Her mood was already a bit off, and now being yelled at by Xi Mohan made her mood completely deteriorate, not wanting to talk to this man at all.
Hearing her words, Xi Mohan’s face, already clouded, darkened even more, his heart feeling a sudden urge to grab her and give her a good shake.
However, seeing that petite, pale face, only the size of a palm, he restrained that urge, took a step closer to Ning Wan, trying to soften his voice from the sharpness earlier, "What are you sulking about?"
Ning Wan turned her head, her gaze landing elsewhere, refusing to look at him, nor intending to answer his question.
The man still stood there, gazing down at her without moving, the two of them remaining silent, one standing and the other sitting.
After what seemed like a long time, perhaps the man began to grow impatient, he directly walked to Ning Wan, crouched down, and with a cold face, silently bent over and lifted her horizontally into his arms.
The sudden action made Ning Wan feel like she was about to fall to the ground, frightening her so much that she immediately grabbed onto the man’s shirt.
Once she regained her senses, she looked up at him, her voice carrying a frantic tone, "Xi Mohan, do you know you could easily scare someone into a heart attack this way?"
It wasn’t the first time he had scared her, but every time, it left her feeling trembling with fear, as if she would fall despite being held in his arms.
Though she knew Xi Mohan wouldn’t really let her fall, she couldn’t help but feel scared reflexively.
Hearing Ning Wan’s words, the man remained expressionless, not pausing even for a moment, carrying her to the back seat of the car, bending over to place her inside.
The bodyguard then pushed the wheelchair over, folded it, and placed it in the trunk.
Seeing Ning Wan sitting there without moving, not leaving him any room, he slightly furrowed his brows and said, "Move inside."
Ning Wan wanted to say she wouldn’t move, but realizing the car was his, she pouted reluctantly and scooted further inside, fearing he might leave her behind in a fit of anger.
As soon as she moved further in, she felt the space beside her shift slightly as the man sat down, followed by the sound of the car door closing.
The bodyguard soon returned to the front passenger seat, turned his head to Xi Mohan, and asked, "Sir, are we heading back to the villa now?"
Xi Mohan responded with a casual sound.
The bodyguard immediately instructed the driver to start the car.
After Ning Wan got into the car, she didn’t speak again. In fact, she wanted to, but when her gaze fell on the man beside her, she found Xi Mohan closing his eyes to rest.
It was then that she noticed the fatigue on his face, even the pronounced dark circles under his eyes, clearly showing he hadn’t rested well.
Suddenly, her heart felt like it was blocked by something, feeling terribly uncomfortable, all the words she wanted to say stuck in her throat, unable to come out.
The car drove smoothly along the road, filled with a calm silence.
Until Ning Wan noticed the unfamiliar yet somewhat familiar scenery outside, she finally couldn’t help but ask, "Xi Mohan, where are you taking me? This isn’t the direction to my home."
The man didn’t respond, nor did he open his eyes, it wasn’t clear if he’d even heard her.
Feeling frustrated at his lack of response, Ning Wan looked at his flawlessly sculpted face, unable to resist, she raised her hand to poke his cheek with a finger.
As soon as her finger touched his face, those previously closed eyes suddenly opened, and her hand was instantly caught by a large hand, her ear caught his low, slightly hoarse yet angry voice calling her name, "Ning Wan!!"
Ning Wan instinctively shrank back, unable to pull her hand away, feeling a little upset by his previous disregard, she said with a bit of frustration, "I know my name sounds nice, but you don’t have to keep calling it, let go."
Every time she heard him call her full name, she felt more out of control, the heartsick feeling inside her was impossible to ignore.
It was this feeling that made her particularly dislike and even loathe it.
She didn’t like herself this way, she detested herself being this way.
Xi Mohan looked at her, his eyes full of meaning, "If you don’t behave, I won’t mind doing something about it."
