Chapter 136: She Probably Killed Benjamin

At the Imperial Hotel.

After countless failed attempts to contact Sienna, Ava finally reached the end of her patience. Worry had been eating at her since yesterday, growing heavier with every unanswered call and every passing hour. She could not sit still any longer.

Her thoughts were already tangled into a mess.

Yesterday, Sienna texted her to say she was at the police station.

Just thinking about those words again made her chest tighten.

She still did not know why Sienna had been there. She did not know which station. She did not know whether Sienna had gone there willingly or had been taken there against her will.

This morning, when she checked her phone, she immediately tried to call Sienna, but without success, her phone was still inactive.

The moment she arrived at the hotel, she headed straight toward Sienna’s office on the eleventh floor.

When she reached Sienna’s office, her anxiety worsened, knowing Sienna was not there.

To make matters worse, Sienna’s assistant had no idea where Sienna was either.

"Are you sure you don’t know where she is?" Ava asked anxiously.

The assistant looked equally confused.

"Yes, I don’t have any idea where she is now. She didn’t return to her office after leaving yesterday, and her cell phone hasn’t been active since then."

Ava did not want to cause a panic across the entire office by revealing that Sienna was detained at the police station. She especially did not want rumors spreading before she even knew what had happened. So she kept quiet about the text message she received from Sienna.

Apparently, Sienna’s assistant knew nothing about it either. Otherwise, she would have mentioned it already.

"Where was she yesterday?" Ava asked cautiously.

The assistant let out a tired sigh before replying, "She had a meeting on the fourteenth floor with Mr. Benjamin Foster... but she never returns until office hours end. Even this morning, she still hasn’t come yet, despite having an important meeting."

Ava’s heart sank instantly.

’Benjamin Foster? You shameless bastard... It must be you who caused it...’

"So, Sienna is meeting with Benjamin..." Ava asked sharply. "Was it work-related?"

The assistant shook her head. "I’m not sure because the meeting isn’t on her schedule. But I remember Benjamin’s secretary calling me to make sure Sienna didn’t forget the meeting. So it must be about work..."

Ava’s hands slowly clenched at her sides. Something had happened. She could feel it.

’Why would Sienna suddenly disappear after meeting Benjamin?’ she thought, puzzled.

"Okay, thank you," Ava said quickly before turning toward the elevator.

She needed answers. And if she could not get them here, she would go upstairs and find them herself.

However, before the elevator arrived, her cell phone vibrated in her pocket. Her heart tightened immediately.

’Sienna? Please let it be Sienna...’

But the hope vanished the moment she glanced at the screen, only to see Riley’s name there.

"Hello, Riley..."

"Did you get through to Sienna?" He asked.

"No." The disappointment was impossible to hide in her voice. "But I just spoke to her assistant. She said yesterday, Sienna had a meeting with Benjamin Foster."

A short pause followed.

"She had a meeting with that bastard?" Riley asked in annoyance. "And since then, she hasn’t returned to her office?"

"Yes." Ava stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the fourteenth floor. "That’s what her assistant said."

Her hand tightened around her phone as she continued, "Riley... why did she end up at the police station?"

Silence answered her question. The only sound coming from the speaker was a deep, long breath.

The silence only made Ava more nervous.

Several seconds later, Riley finally spoke. "Maybe... just maybe... she probably killed Benjamin."

Ava’s eyes widened in shock.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Riley?" she snapped. "How could she do that!? She can’t even kill a mosquito..."

Riley chuckled from the other end.

"Relax. I’m joking. You know her temper. She’s probably the sweetest woman I’ve ever met. She rarely gets angry and somehow stays calm even when everyone around her is falling apart."

Ava pinched the bridge of her nose. "I can’t believe you’re still making jokes."

"Sorry—"

"Where are you now?" Ava asked quickly. "Can you help me find her?"

"I’m heading to Imperial now."

"Hurry," Ava muttered sarcastically. "I’m heading to Benjamin’s office. I need backup. I’m worried I might kill someone, too."

"Wait for me," Riley replied. "And don’t do anything reckless, Ava." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

"Alright. I’ll wait for you on the fourteenth floor."

She ended the call before Riley could make another joke. She truly could not handle it right now.

...

The elevator doors opened.

Ava stepped out onto the fourteenth floor.

The atmosphere looked perfectly normal. Staff moved through the hallway carrying files and coffee. Several directors were walking toward a meeting room. Phones rang. Conversations flowed quietly.

She walked directly toward the General Manager’s office.

"Morning, Belinda," Ava greeted Benjamin’s secretary.

Belinda looked surprised to see her but still offered a polite smile.

"Good morning, Ava. Do you have a meeting with someone on this floor?"

"No." Ava glanced toward the office door. "I want to meet your boss. Is he inside?"

Belinda’s expression changed almost immediately. Her cheerful look faded, and her nervousness showed in her gaze.

"My boss..." Belinda began carefully. "He’s not in the office right now. You can tell me what you need, and I’ll relay the message."

Ava paused.

"Ava...?" Belinda prompted softly when she stayed silent.

Ava turned her gaze back toward her. "Did Sienna meet your boss yesterday?" she asked.

Belinda visibly stiffened.

"Yes. My boss met Sienna yesterday..." she answered after a brief pause. "Why do you ask?"

Ava watched her closely and noticed how pale her face had grown. Something was definitely wrong—Belinda was hiding something.

"Belinda," Ava said carefully, "tell me what happened to her."

Belinda immediately looked away.

"I’m sorry, but I don’t know what to say to you..." Belinda said, then she turned back toward her computer screen as though the conversation had already ended.

Ava stared at her in disbelief.

"Belinda, please tell me. This is important because Sienna is missing after she met your boss."

Still, Belinda continued typing and ignoring her.

Her behavior only confirmed Ava’s suspicions.
