Chapter 413: Chapter 135: Su Xi’s Choice

Jordan’s college career was a treasured part of his life.

Just then, Isaiah Thomas’s loud shouts from nearby shattered Jordan’s train of thought.

"WAHAHA! I told you! Bro! I told you, Little Sheep Su Xi is the greatest guard of all time! No, he shouldn’t be called Little Sheep Su Xi anymore. He should be Goat Su Xi! The GOAT!"

Isaiah Thomas was gloating, his voice grating.

It was as if he was the one who had won.

Just as annoying as Jordan had always found him.

"Keep it down, Isaiah," James Dolan, who was right next to him, reminded Isaiah Thomas even more loudly. Then he said something that pissed off many of the bigwigs in the stands, "We’re about to get Goat Su Xi. If you’re this loud about it, people are going to get upset. Ahahahahaha!"

James Dolan’s face was covered in stubble, and he looked sloppy. If this spoiled rich kid hadn’t been worth nearly ten billion, everyone would have wanted to walk over and tell him off.

But for now, all they could do was watch those two gloat.

They could only curse inwardly: ’Damn rich kids. So what if you have money?’

"It’s not a sure thing that Jack will choose you. The appeal of Los Angeles is far greater than yours. Don’t forget, his girlfriends all work in Los Angeles, and his friendship with Kobe is deeper than you can imagine."

"Most importantly, we Lakers can provide him with a strong supporting cast. What do you have to offer?"

Magic Johnson, with his high standing in the basketball world, directly confronted them.

This made the other executives nearby very happy. Finally, someone was stepping up to set things right.

But unexpectedly, Isaiah Thomas and James Dolan just burst out laughing. James Dolan then proudly and matter-of-factly said something that everyone found absurd: "Because we suck enough."

Everyone found this shameless statement utterly ridiculous.

But Michael Jordan felt a sudden chill.

A terrible suspicion crept into his mind. ’Is Little Sheep Su Xi really going to choose the hardest path? He could easily join a powerhouse and go for a personal three-peat. That way, his status would skyrocket.

’Even if it smelled of taking a shortcut, who could really say anything?

’A personal three-peat, and a personal three-peat with two different teams at that—isn’t that even harder than a three-peat with the same team?

’And it would be credited to him personally.’

In Jordan’s view, if Su Xi joined the Lakers, the Lakers could truly leap into championship contention.

Because Su Xi and Kobe were very complementary. They could run a half-court offense and also play fast-break basketball. Although neither of them was individually stronger than Jordan, together, they had a chance to surpass the Jordan and Pippen duo.

First of all, both of them were tenacious defenders.

And they excelled at different things. Su Xi also had the ability to isolate on the strong side. At the very least, Jordan felt Su Xi’s strong-side iso was no weaker than Pippen’s, and his ability to drive to the basket was even better. With Kobe drawing attention on the other side, defenders would be caught in a bind.

Therefore, deep down, Jordan desperately hoped Su Xi wouldn’t go to the Lakers.

If Su Xi went to the Lakers, he and Kobe could really become the greatest backcourt duo in history.

’If Su Xi’s ambition was great enough, it would be so much better if he went to the Knicks,’ Jordan thought.

Just then, TNT’s interview with Su Xi began to air on TV.

Miller’s sister, Cheryl Miller, walked toward the players with a microphone in hand. She first shared a long hug with her ’weak little brother.’ When they were young, Cheryl used to dominate Reggie, but now, her eyes were filled with tears.

"Congratulations, Reggie. You got what you wanted. That last shot you made was so cool. I’m proud of you, and our entire family is proud of what you’ve done."

Miller was also a bit choked up, but he cockily lifted his chin. He didn’t want to look vulnerable in front of his sister.

"Now, I’m the family member with the most championships in the Miller Family."

Miller said proudly.

Cheryl hugged her brother again, then walked over to Su Xi.

The whole world now wanted to know what the youngest back-to-back Finals MVP winner and the youngest single-season double-MVP in history had to say.

Moreover, the whole world was watching to see where Su Xi would go next.

Where would Su Xi go?

"Jack, congratulations on winning another championship trophy and repeating as Finals MVP, making you a member of the single-season double-MVP club. How are you feeling right now? What are your thoughts on becoming a member of the league’s most prestigious single-season double-MVP club? Do you know who else is in that club?"

Cheryl asked a series of questions.

It was clear she was ’hyping up’ Su Xi. By listing all those titles, she wanted the audience to understand just how incredible his achievement was and which legends he was now joining.

Su Xi smiled and said, "I’m feeling very happy right now, and also very relaxed. We finally achieved our goal for the season. The process was tough, and we faced some very tricky situations, but we stuck together. Thankfully, we made it through and got what we came for."

"I haven’t really been keeping track of my own MVP count, so I don’t know who’s in the double-MVP club. I’d like to thank my teammates. Thank you, Ron. Thank you, Jermaine. Thank you, Reggie. Thank you, Stephen. Thank you, Jeff. Thank you, Tony..."
