Chapter 164: He really… did that…?
After a brief moment of thought, Lucian turned back towards Lia.
She was looking at him with an expression that was both confused and filled with desire, her golden eyes carrying a quiet hunger she was desperately trying to suppress.
And seeing that gaze… he couldn’t help but swallow faintly.
“Lia…”
His voice remained calm—at least outwardly.
“Where’s Mom?”
Lia’s expression immediately stilled. Then, a tiny frown appeared between her brows.
She knew perfectly well he was talking about their mother, but even so… hearing him suddenly ask about another woman while she was sitting on his lap sent a wave of jealousy surging through her chest.
“I don’t know…” she answered after a brief pause.
“Though… she might be in the library right now.”
“Hm…”freeweɓnovel.cøm
Lucian quietly nodded.
Noticing the annoyed look she was giving him, he could only sigh inwardly.
Before she could say anything else…
He suddenly leaned forward.
Then—
Lia’s eyes flew open, widening in disbelief.
A pair of soft lips gently met hers.
“!!!”
Her entire mind went blank.
Everything stopped.
Her breathing, her thoughts… and for a moment, even her heart felt as though it had stopped beating.
But…
Before she even had enough time to savour the warmth against her lips…
The sensation was already gone.
The warmth upon her lips vanished almost immediately.
Then, the lap she had been sitting on disappeared beneath her, and her body dropped onto the polished stone floor.
By the time she regained her senses… the space before her was already empty.
Lucian…
He had disappeared, leaving behind only a faint trail of crimson mist slowly dispersing where he had been sitting just moments earlier.
“Haaa… haaa…”
Her breathing became uneven once again, and heat flooded her cheeks, turning her entire face a brilliant crimson red.
‘He…”
Her eyes remained frozen where he had vanished.
‘He really… did that…?
He… kissed me…?’
Her heart pounded violently against her chest, each beat echoing almost painfully throughout her body.
Yet those same painful beats reminded her that it was real—not a fleeting dream, nor something she had imagined.
She couldn’t believe it.
Why?
Only moments ago, he had stopped her from kissing him.
Yet now…
He had been the one to take the initiative.
Why?
Her thoughts became increasingly chaotic, and she couldn’t even begin to sort through them.
Then—
She suddenly felt something warm and wet trickling from between her thighs.
Instinctively, she lowered her gaze, and the moment she realised where the sensation was coming from—
Her eyes widened in shock.
Her fingers hesitantly moved down, pressing lightly against the damp fabric of her pants.
‘I… I’m fucking wet.’
She bit her lip, a shiver running through her body as her fingertips brushed against her intimate spot.

Meanwhile…
Just a few minutes earlier…
“What are those two doing being so close together?”
“Wait… aren’t they brother and sister?”
“Aren’t they being a little too touchy for siblings?
“Oh…!”
“They’re drinking each other’s blood right now…”
“Is Lady Amelia crying? Hmm…?”
“…Now she’s trying to kiss him…!”
“And he stopped her?! What is he, gay?”
“Again with the blood drinking?”
“How much blood do they even need? Well… I guess they were both hungry for months.”
Kanna quietly stared at the shameless grey-haired maid peeping through the narrow opening of the training room door.
The moment Kanna had stepped outside…
Selthia had immediately rushed over to her, and the instant she learned that Lucian—the newly acknowledged disciple of Lady Valentina—had finally returned…
Sylthia had practically exploded with excitement.
And naturally, Kanna had stopped her from going inside, because whatever was happening in there…
It was clearly none of their business.
Not that Kanna had expected Selthia to listen to her.
Instead, the shameless maid went and took a step further, simply taking on the job of a professional peeping tom.
Kanna’s eyes gradually turned completely deadpan as she listened to the maid continuing to narrate every single thing, going through every little detail—or perhaps she was simply talking to herself.
And after listening for so long, even she began feeling the urge to take a look.
Though she stopped herself, having a bad feeling about what might happen if she did.
And she had been right, because—
“Kanna!
You should come look too—”
Her voice abruptly stopped.
Selthia suddenly jerked her head away from the door. Her eyes widened.
“Oops. Did he see me?”
Despite her words, she didn’t sound frightened in the slightest.
Before Kanna could even respond, the shameless maid immediately leaned back toward the opening again.
“Hm? Where did he go?”
She blinked in confusion.
From where she was standing, all she could see was Lia sitting alone on the floor, and even then, the view wasn’t particularly clear.
Kanna, meanwhile, instantly became still.
Silently cursing the stupid maid before her…
She slowly turned to her left, only to find a man dressed in black standing quietly beside her.
His crimson eyes were fixed upon the shameless peeping tom.
Without saying a single word… Lucian briefly shifted his gaze towards Kanna.
Even without him needing to say anything, she immediately understood.
Giving a tiny nod, she quietly closed her mouth.
Turning away from her, Lucian silently stepped forward, walking with soundless steps as he approached the grey-haired woman.
He lightly lay his hand on her shoulder.
“Kanna… do you finally want to look now… eek!”
Selthia’s words died in her throat. The moment she turned around, she nearly jumped away from the door.
Her body would’ve flown straight into the training room if Lucian hadn’t stopped her with a firm grip.
His crimson eyes glowed faintly, and a hollow, cold smile curled across his lips.
“What are you doing over here?”
His voice sent an involuntary shiver racing down Selthia’s spine.
“Huh…? Oh… n–nothing!”
She immediately stammered, instinctively retreating from him before hiding behind Kanna.
Grabbing the emotionless maid by both shoulders and using her as a shield, she hurriedly came up with an answer.
“Kanna asked me to see if there was any problem inside! So I was just helping her!”
Kanna’s usual expressionless face froze, and her eyes widened ever so slightly.
But before she could even try to deny the accusation—
Selthia immediately slapped a hand over Kanna’s mouth before giving Lucian a bright, innocent smile.
Lucian quietly shifted his gaze toward the emotionless maid, who immediately slapped Selthia’s hand away from her mouth.
But after that, she didn’t say a word, nor did she try to explain—since there was no need for any explanation.
“Kanna, dear…” Lucian’s faint, cold smile remained.
“Take her away from here.”
Kanna’s eyes flickered briefly, then she silently nodded.
Then—
She snapped her fingers.
“Oi…” Selthia immediately frowned.
“Why are you calling her deaaahhh!”
Her expression instantly transformed into horror as she felt the shadows beneath her feet suddenly ripple like liquid.
And before she could react, her entire body sank into the darkness.
“Wait! Kanna!
Don’t do thiiiiiisss—!”
Her desperate cries echoed through the corridor before the shadows completely swallowed her.
Silence fell once again.
Neither Lucian’s nor Kanna’s expressions changed in the slightest.
“She asked for it.”
Lucian silently muttered, and this time…
Even Kanna gave a tiny nod of agreement. The faintest trace of a smile twitched at the corner of her lips as the shadows retreated beneath her feet.
She had already decided that the stupid maid would be staying inside her shadow for at least a few hours, while her cries echoed from within.
Turning away from the now perfectly normal-looking shadow, Lucian looked back towards Kanna.
She had already regained her usual posture, standing perfectly straight with her hands neatly folded in front of her, wearing the same emotionless expression—almost as though she hadn’t just swallowed a woman into her shadow.
“Don’t disturb Lia for a while,” Lucian spoke, already having a very good idea of what kind of mess she was currently dealing with.
Although Kanna didn’t fully understand what he meant, she simply nodded.
“Young Master Lucian…”
After a brief silence, Kanna spoke again.
“May I ask where you’re going?”
Lucian raised a brow. He hadn’t expected her to initiate a conversation, since from what he had seen so far, she wasn’t particularly talkative.
As though noticing his surprise, as well as realising what she had just done…
Kanna slightly lowered her head.
“I apo—”
“I’m going to meet my mother.”
Kanna paused, then slowly raised her head again.
A faint smile appeared on Lucian’s face.
“Do you know where she is?”
Although Lia had already told him, he still asked once again.
To make sure, and mainly because he could subtly sense a trace of awkwardness coming from Kanna—not from her ever-expressionless face, but more like an instinctive feeling.
“She is currently inside the Grand Library.”
Her voice came out a little low.
“Within the castle.”
“Hm…” Lucian hummed in acknowledgement.
The next instant, his vision shifted, and the entire world before him gradually became washed in countless shades of crimson.
After briefly sweeping his gaze across the surroundings, he immediately located the only human remaining inside Scarlett Castle.
His mother.
Although humans and vampires possessed similar signatures surrounding them, there was still an incredibly subtle difference between the two—but only someone with exceptionally heightened instincts could distinguish it.
‘Come to think of it… was that maid human too?’ he thought, briefly recalling Sylthia.
But he shook that curiosity aside, dismissing the crimson vision before looking towards the distant corridor.
“Young Master, I can guide you there.”
Seeing him quietly standing still once again, she assumed he had once again lost himself in thought—because she had already witnessed this behaviour twice over the past two months.
“No need…” Lucian smiled.
“I know the way.”
Kanna didn’t really look convinced. Still… she didn’t question him and only gave him another respectful bow.
Then—
Lucian suddenly reached out.
“Loosen up a little… my emotionless doll,” he said as his hand came to rest upon her head.
Kanna froze.
Completely.
Every thought inside her mind came to an abrupt halt as she felt the warmth of his palm. Instead of noticing that warmth, only one word echoed through her thoughts.
‘My…?’
A tiny frown unconsciously formed between her brows, and before she could process anything further, she felt his hand pull away from her head before he casually walked past her, through the corridor.
His crimson eyes shifted towards the distant location of the Library, and seeing how far away it was…
His body distorted.
Then—
It burst apart into hundreds of dark bats that shot through the castle corridors at astonishing speed before disappearing from sight altogether.
Leaving Kanna standing there in complete silence, surprised both by his transformation skill and by the pat on her head.
And leaving the still-flustered and horny Lia, whose mind remained in complete disarray, continuously wondering whether her brother had noticed her state before she had.
