Chapter 99: VIPs
"What are you doing?" Olivia asked, looking at Mika as if he was a disgusting bug.
In the corner of the room, Ophelia was shaking her head while holding her forehead.
"Showing my utmost respect to you, of course, your highness!" he replied, trying to keep a straight face.
Olivia sighed.
"Get your ass up." she ordered bluntly.
"Yes!"
But as he stood up, he did not realize that Olivia was right in front of him.
"!"
"..."
Olivia stared at him with a blank and yet also disappointed gaze.
He flinched and lightly bent his back backward.
"Ow!"
She flicked his forehead with her finger.
"Can’t you two sisters communicate without using violence all the time?!" Mika complained, rubbing his forehead.
"W-wha-" Ophelia stuttered in shock.
"Heh..." Olivia huffed satisfiedly.
"Oh, sh-"
Mika quickly held his mouth, realizing his manner of speaking.
"Calm down, calm down. This is exactly how I want you to talk with me." Olivia said carefreely, waving her hand up and down.
"After all, we’ve already shared our warmth and passion with each other, right?" she added playfully.
"Wha-"
Ophelia’s jaw dropped even more.
"Y-you’re talking about the match, right? Right?!" Mika tried to save himself desperately.
"I still remember those beast-like eyes you had as you analyzed my body. The-"
"O-Olivia!" Ophelia interrupted her by grabbing her shoulders forcefully.
"Jeez... Can’t I even make a joke? It was funny, right, Mika?" she said monotonously while getting shaken by her sister.
"Y-yeah... Really funny..." he replied weakly with a forced smile but blank eyes.
Then, an announcement was made from outside.
"After a three-minute break, the final four matches of the first round will begin. If you leave your seats now, you will surely regret it!" the tournament’s announcer declared with excitement.
Ophelia looked out of the window.
"It’s Sylvia’s turn soon, am I correct?"
"Yes." Mika answered.
"Well, let’s sit down for now, shall we?" Olivia suggested, letting herself fall on the seat in a way unfit for a nation’s ruler.
In front of the window was a row full of chairs and even a couch.
Olivia sat on the couch.
"Come, Mika." she said with a smirk on her face, patting the spot right next to her.
He knew he could not refuse, rather, it was useless to refuse.
Thus, he nervously took the spot left to her.
"What are you doing, Ophelia? Sit with us." she stated indifferently.
With her arm around Mika’s shoulders, she pointed to the spot next to Mika.
Mika felt somewhat tense and timid, pressing his hands on his thighs.
"..."
Ophelia was hesitating at first before she reluctantly sat down on the couch.
Now, Mika sat between the two sisters.
"It’s pretty cramped here, isn’t it? M-maybe I sho-"
"Stay."
"Okay."
Mika tried to find an excuse to leave, however, as soon as he attempted to stand up, Olivia’s sharp words tamed him immediately.
It was silent in the room.
Only Olivia’s joyful and innocent humming was heard.
"B-by the way... Can I ask where and who the other VIP guests are...?" Mika asked sheepishly.
"Hm? Does it even matter?"
"Y-yes, I would like to know..."
"Not everyone can be as relaxed as you, Olivia." Ophelia scolded her.
"Well, sorry that I’m so peerless." Olivia mockingly replied, hanging her head backward.
Mika could do nothing but keep on his wry smile, hearing the two sisters interact in their own sibling-like way.
However, soon the door opened again.
"Thanks for the snacks, uncle!"
"Your kindness knows no bounds, your majesty."
"Haha, don’t worry about that! You two remind me of my own kids!"
"Your majesty, I don’t want to be rude, but please refrain from going outside during the tournament. It’s for your majesty’s own safety."
"Gosh, do you have to be so uptight even here? This is a festival. Let them have fun."
Five people, whose faces Mika did not recognize, entered the room.
"Ah, here’s your answer, Mika." Olivia said indifferently.
"Thanks for telling us, Olivia." Ophelia remarked sarcastically.
Mika shot up instantly from his seat and bowed his upper body.
"My name is Mika Elbar and I am a student from Loogam! I apologize for barging into this room, which was specially made just for you!" Mika said in a stern and loud tone.
"You are..."
"Is that the boy you’re talking about, Olivia?"
"Ms. Rostanta, may I ask you who this boy is?"
"Hmm~"
"..."
Then, Olivia and Ophelia stood up.
Ophelia bowed to them once.
"You can lift your head." Olivia stated with a smile.
"But-"
"It’s an order."
Her tone shifted as she grabbed his head.
"Yes."
He slowly raised his head, ignoring Olivia’s hand on his hair.
Now, everyone was in full sight.
In the back were two people, a man and a woman. The man had a stern and cautious look on his face, whereas the woman resembled Olivia based on her facial expression.
Those two were the members of the Grand Order, Lereon Pantl and Elsa Sunoma.
And standing in front of them were a middle-aged man and two teenagers.
Just from looking at the man’s clothes, one would most likely say that he was poor as he only wore simple clothes, which were tattered in some spots. In his hand was a large hat, which he took off his head when he entered the room.
The man had wrinkles all over his face and short blonde hair, which was slicked back. And his kind eyes shone brightly in yellow.
Beside him were the teenagers. Again, a boy and a girl, who were approximately Mika’s age.
Their skin was tanned and they both had black hair and dark blue eyes.
The boy wore white loose pants, paired with high black boots. His well-trained midriff was shown as he only wore a black skin-tight top, which only covered his chest and shoulders.
His hair reached to his neck and was tied together.
Meanwhile, the girl next to him had long hair, styled into twin tails.
Her clothing style was even more bizarre for Mika.
Just like the previous boy, she wore loose white pants but paired with sandals.
However, her left leg was completely exposed as that part of the pants was seemingly ripped off. And her pink top only consisted of clothing which only covered her modest chest with the strings being around her back and neck.
"So, what is he doing here?" Lereon asked Olivia.
"He’s someone close to us, therefore we decided to enjoy the tournament together." she replied disinterestedly.
At the same time, Elsa approached Mika.
She hunched over a little and stared at him like a predator would at its prey.
"E-ehm, can I help you...?" Mika asked softly as he felt smaller and smaller.
"Elsa, knock it off, would you?" Olivia said, looking over at her menacingly.
"Hey, boy. Care for a little bout?" she asked.
"W-what?"
"I’ve heard everything from her. It seems like you got some interesting powers."
Mika looked over to Olivia.
She sighed.
"Elsa."
Mika’s face brightened up, thinking that she would actually help him.
"Do that later."
"..."
"Fine."
Elsa walked to the wall and leaned on it.
"So, I assume you’re a friend of Ms. Rostanta?" the man asked gently.
"I-I guess so...?"
Mika felt her stare, but he continued to look to the front.
"Haha, how wonderful! Then, let me introduce myself. I am Norman Milar, nice to meet you." he introduced himself with a smile on his face as he stretched his hand towards Mika. frёeωebɳovel.com
"Where are my manners? Let me also introduce myself. I go by the name Yarjan Tiam."
"And I’m his sister, Sara Tiam, hehe!"
The two also told him their names. While the brother seemed more mindful and polite, his sister was more outgoing.
"N-nice to meet you all..."
Mika nervously took Norman’s hand and shook it firmly.
At that moment, the crowd outside began to cheer loudly once more.
"Seems like the matches are about to start."
"Uh! Who’s fighting this time, Ophelia? Is it someone from this so-called white class this time?" Sara wondered as she rushed to the window.
"Mind your manners, Sara. Do you know in whose presence you’re?" her brother, Yarjak, scolded her, going after her.
"Haha!" Norman only laughed at this sight.
Those three took a seat in the chairs.
"A-aren’t you not going to sit down?" Mika asked Lereon and Elsa.
"Do you see any space left for the two of us?" Elsa replied with a smirk.
"Furthermore, we aren’t here to watch the tournament. We are here as security guards." Lereon added with crossed arms as his back faced the door.
"Security guards? For them?" Mika asked, looking at Norman, Yarjak, and Sara.
"Yes. Do you perhaps not know who they are?" Lereon wondered.
"N-no."
He sighed disappointed.
"How could you not know them? Were you living in some secluded place?"
Mika would have liked to confirm his theory but decided to not do that.
"Those two siblings are the crown prince and princess of the nation of Grat." Elsa said.
"And Norman Milar is the current king of Malnor." Lereon added, fixing his glasses.
"Huh?"
Mika’s heart stood still for a moment.
