Chapter 208: Lowest Floor
Belian and Sara charged at the monster, which was wrapped up in bandages. While Belian crouched down, Sara jumped high.
With their relics, only one hit was enough to decide the winner as Belian could slash through everything like butter whereas Sara could tear someone apart with a cut, no matter how small it was.
The blade on Belian’s sword was steaming and emitted tremendous heat.
Bandages appeared before them and gathered into a wall, however, those were not enough to stop them.
Sara cut them with ease and Belian slashed through them, tearing even the creature apart by slicing its upper body from its lower body.
And anticlimactically, the monster fell to the ground, kicking up a sandy dust.
"Did we do it...?" Sara wondered.
"..."
The two were still on edge as it was stunning to them that a monster, which emitted so much pressure, fell down so easily.
Belian’s face hovered above its head.
But when he focused his gaze on it, the body suddenly dispersed in fine dust, leaving only the bandages there.
"What-"
"Ack!"
Immediately after hearing a stab sound and Sara’s agonized voice, Belian turned his head to her only to see a hardened bandage, which emerged from the ground, piercing her from behind.
It stabbed the area beneath her right chest.
"Sara!"
Blood flowed out of her mouth and splattered from her wound after the bandage pulled out.
She fell on her knees, clenching her wound.
"?!"
Belian wanted to rush to her, however, as soon as he attempted to take a step towards her, he sensed a hand grabbing his ankle.
He lowered his gaze to his feet.
His eyes widened when he saw a being crawling out of the sand while holding onto Belian.
"What’s going on here...?" he muttered stunned.
It let go of Belian and straightened its posture.
"..."
Even Sara was speechless at the sight of the creature that appeared from the ground.
After all, it had the same appearance as the being, which Belian had taken down a few minutes ago.
However, their misfortune did not stop there as around them more and more of those creatures emerged from the ground.
Quickly, the two found themselves surrounded by same-looking monsters, whose loose bandages were floating around them.
"Ugh...!" Belian groaned lightly after he got pierced again by some bandages from the ground.
His left shoulder was stabbed as well as his right upper leg.
And even though the two were injured, they mustered up their strength to fight against the unexpected wave of monsters as they held their swords tightly.
Shouting vigorously, they cut down each enemy in their sight while their wounds did not stop leaking blood.
However, there was no end to that because a new monster would appear once another one would fall to their hands.
Meanwhile, Lily was running aimlessly in the dark desert.
Her breathing was ragged, her face covered in sweat and her legs were screaming from the exhaustion.
Still, she had to keep on running in order to find at least a clue on how to leave the floor.
Her vision started to turn blurry even to the point that she thought that she was imagining things on the horizon.
"..."
But the longer she looked at a particular object, the more was she sure that she was not hallucinating.
"!"
On the horizon, she perceived the silhouette of a small house.
Having found her destination, she was suddenly motivated and energetic again, picking up her pace.
With a smile filled with hope and expectations, Lily finally arrived in front of the building, which was, however, just a small and simple hut made out of woods.
It was dark inside the hut and the door was slightly open, piquing Lily’s curiosity even more.
Thus, Lily vigilantly approached the door and peeked inside first.
"?"
But it was too dark to see anything so she opened the door slowly.
She suddenly turned nervous and immediately questioned her decision to enter the hut.
Her body was about to pull away from the hut but stiffened up upon the sound coming from the dark hut.
"Hmpfh?!"
Lily was not able to see anything aside from the hand that emerged from the darkness and grabbed her mouth.
The next thing she knew was that she was now high in the air with her back facing the ground. Lily instinctively grabbed the arm that was on her and her eyes wandered to the entire body.
"!"
She was flabbergasted as it was also a wrapped-up being with the anatomy of a human. But compared to the one she saw with Belian and Sara, this being was smaller, which was akin to a child’s body.
Wildly, Lily released a fire attack to free herself from its grip but it was in vain. The being still had its hand on her.
Unfazed by the attack, it retracted its arm to the sky even though it held onto Lily.
And without hesitation, it threw Lily to the ground from a high altitude.
Aside from the sound of coughing up blood, Lily was paralyzed for a while after getting slammed to the ground.
Desperately, she tried to regulate her breath but the now sandy air made it more difficult for her.
"..."
From below, she could only watch the creature descend slowly from above with some loose bandages floating around it.
It landed beside Lily.

She wanted to flee from that spot but her body was restrained by bandages to the ground.
Helplessly, she fidgeted around in a desperate attempt to free herself while the monster grabbed one of the floating bandages.
It tore a part of the bandage off. And shortly after that, the now torn-off piece hardened into something like a blade.
"AAAHHH!" Lily cried in pain after it suddenly stabbed her with the hardened bandage on her left trapezius muscle.
Lily painfully lifted her face.
Behind the creature, multiple bandages floated upwards to the sky but with a single gesture of its finger, those bandages headed in her direction.
As a last resort, she let out fire from her body, ignoring the control over it. She only had to escape the place for now.
She gritted her teeth and veins were bursting all over her body as she mustered every last drop of energy. And yet, the monster was unaffected by the fire and remained there.
"..."
The fire dispersed as Lily realized that her struggle was pointless.
There was nothing she could do to fight back.
Even if she were to summon her only fire creature left, she knew that her situation would not change for the better.
Belian and Sara were occupied with their opponent and she did not see anyone else on this floor. Meaning, that there was no one, who could help her.
With that thought, she closed her eyes, accepting her defeat and potential end.
Obviously, she felt bitter about this outcome as she averted her gaze to the side but she was still too weak just like Belian hinted.
In the face of death, the restrained Lily had teary eyes.
"!"
But it was at that moment when arrows made out of light rained down from above, hitting not only the loose bandages but also the monster itself.
At first, the monster did not care but after getting constantly hit it eventually turned around and lifted its head to see, who attacked it.
"No way..." Lily muttered.
Her face shined and her glassy eyes reflected the image of a person descending with the moon in the back.
At that moment, she forgot everything else. Even the fact that she just escaped death.
Her lips, which tried to form a smile, trembled and the tears started to roll down her cheeks. And with the bandages around her pulling back, she stood up with her hand clenching her chest.
"..."
The bandaged monster directed its hand towards the descending person and all of a sudden, the bandages were shot at the person like spears.
However, the person unleashed a heavy slash to destroy the bandages aimed at the person.
[2 minutes and 43 seconds left.]
The person, who came to Lily’s rescue was none other than Mika, who coldly looked down on the being.
"Is that this mission’s target?"
[Yes. Just like the king of the Great Jungle the creature in front of you is a semi-transcendental being.]
"I see."
From beneath, creatures, which looked like those Belian and Sara were currently facing, crawled out from the sand.
But Mika had his eyes on Lily, who was in the midst of all those monsters.
He sighed.
Once he reached a certain height, Mika undid his transformation and landed on the ground.
He enchanted himself with lightning magic.
"?"
Lily widened her eyes when she got swooped away by Mika, who managed to get past the monsters with his speed.
And while the semi-transcendental being stared at Mika, Mika put down Lily once they were outside the mass of monsters.
"Y-you’re..."
Lily tried to find the right words as she already began her sentence. However, Mika also had words for her after pondering about it for a very long time.
"I’m sorry."
