Chapter 191: Loogam Versus Youra

The crowd may have been silent but most of them were looking forward to the match as Belian, Rachel and Harik appeared.

"..."

Cylia wore a faint smirk when she looked at the crowd. Her initial goal was to use this match as an opportunity to change the people’s opinion on the Loogam students but it seemed to her like the match was not really necessary anymore. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

"Now, let us welcome the students, who will represent our academy!"

Only then, did the crowd burst into cheers as their own team emerged and entered the field.

And just like anyone would have expected, it was a team with Sara, Asak and Payl. While Sara was cheerfully waving back to the crowd, Asak and Payl appeared on edge.

"What’s up with them...?" Mika wondered as he took a seat in the stands.

"Ugh..." the person next to him groaned.

Mika and the others decided to watch the match from the stands and happened to find empty seats, however, Mika did not notice that Cail was right next to him.

The two looked at each other taken aback as they were not really on good terms.

Whereas Mika and the white class were the center of attention, Cail and the other few students, who decided to officially enroll in Youra, stayed low and minded their own business. Of course, there were times, when they were the target of other local students but after a short while, they managed to blend in with the student body and even got to know others better.

Turning over a new leaf, Cail gained the respect of other students here due to his work ethic and dignity.

"So? Which class are you attending?" Mika asked, albeit reluctantly and spitefully.

"I’m in the weapon combat class. You?" Cail replied, equally spitefully.

"Hand-to-hand."

"I see."

"..."

They ended their conversation there. After all, they did not really care about anything else. Fortunately, it was not awkward as the match was about to begin.

"Everything is allowed in this match. Only when every member of the team either admits defeat or is unable to fight, the team loses. Any questions?"

Cylia shifted her gaze between both sides but the two were each shaking their heads.

"Good. With that being said, give it your best!"

She raised her arm, signaling the start of the match. And each member of each team immediately jumped away from each other, spreading out across the field.

It was a three-on-three, however, it appeared like each one of them had a certain match-up in mind.

"I hope you won’t kill me, you damn demon!" Asak scoffed with a mocking grin as he stormed to Harik.

"I look forward to this match!" Sara giggled happily, charging at Belian.

"Seems like I got stuck with you." Payl muttered, aiming his sharp gaze at Rachel.

Harik versus Asak. Belian versus Sara. Rachel versus Payl.

Even though it was just a coincidence, the Loogam students were looking out for these match-ups.

Swords were clashing between Belian and Sara. And knowing the relics of those two, Cylia handed them two normal swords, which were crafted with the same designs as their relics, beforehand because she could imagine that the match would turn ugly if both were to use their dangerous and destructive relics.

Meanwhile, Harik and Asak were engaged in pure hand-to-hand combat with Harik being on the defensive end at first.

And then there were Rachel and Payl. Whereas Payl summoned his relic, a black dagger, Rachel prepared tall thorny flower stalks and big roots around her.

"..."

The match just started but Belian was already facing troubles against Sara.

It was like back then on the ship, when they sparred against each other, including Mika. Her swordsmanship was superior to his and the way she moved her body alongside her swordplay was also adding to the difficulty Belian had to face.

Currently, he was still able to block her attacks and evade direct hits but he did not find an opportunity yet to launch as much as a strike.

"Uff...!" Harik groaned when he received a punch in the stomach.

A sidekick followed right after by Asak, who found joy in mercilessly launching one attack after another on Harik.

"Come on! This much is nothing to you demon, right?" Asak laughed.

"!"

Harik was hit once more. And this time the punch connected to his face, shattering his pair of sunglasses.

He was about to fall on his back but he managed to resist and clenched his fists.

"I’m a normal person!" Harik yelled from the depths of his lungs.

"?!"

Asak was caught off guard after seeing Harik’s blue eyes. As a result, he did not dodge the fist that would smash his face and send him flying to the ground.

"Your eyes..." Asak muttered as he slowly lifted his face, whose nose was bleeding.

Harik took a deep breath as he took up his fighting stance by squatting down a little.

And while Harik was capable of landing a hit, Rachel was focused on her opponent.

"Tch...!" she clicked her tongue in annoyance while small drops of sweat rolled down her cheeks.

She commanded her roots and vines to chase after Payl but he was moving too fast and was quite agile, despite his body frame, as he evaded each one of her attempts to get him. He may have received some scratches on his body but these were only shallow.

Moving in that speed and manner, he made his way to Rachel, who purposefully took a huge distance from her enemy because she was accustomed to attack from afar.

However, her magic capacity was not limitless. She started to notice slight exhaustion as she was milking out magic nonstop at a high rate.

"..."

Payl grinned eerily when their eyes met.

He gripped his dagger tightly and retracted his arm.

"?"

Rachel took note of that and used her vines to shield her from the incoming throw.

"Useless." Payl murmured triumphantly as he threw his dagger to Rachel.

Mika, who happened to focus on their match, narrowed his eyes sternly.

"!"

The dagger went right through her defense and pierced her left shoulder.

"Ack!" she grumbled in pain.

She held the spot, where she was hit, tightly with the dagger still being stuck there.

Blood did not stop flowing from that wound, coloring her uniform in that area red. It even rolled down her arm and dripped on the ground.

At the same time, the vines and roots stopped moving and lowered themselves.

"Haven’t you all learned from your experiences yet?" Payl mocked her with a grin.

His dagger dispersed in a black dust from her shoulder and then, returned to his hand again.

"It doesn’t matter if I’m holding it or not. If I have set a target, this dagger will trespass through everything until it touches the target. Heck, even my arm can pass through things as long as I’m holding the dagger!" he added scoffingly.

With the things now, it did not look good for the Loogam team.

However, it was then that Asak was thrown at Payl. Payl may have been able to catch him but he was stumbling a few steps back.

"Hey, what are you doing, you idiot?!" Payl scolded him.

"Sorry, that was out of my control." Asak stated with a slightly ragged breathing.

His eyes were directed at Harik, who was at least as exhausted as Asak and was covered in more bruises than Asak.

"Asak!" Harik shouted as he charged at him with a retracted fist. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"This damn..."

With a scornful gaze, Asak took his position and blocked Harik’s punch. The two exchanged attacks and blocks and as they did, they unconsciously took Payl’s space to his dismay.

"Hey! Get away fr- Ugh!"

He was interrupted midway as Rachel calmed down again and directed her attacks at him again. One of her thorny stalks managed to stab him in his left side.

"Just because I let my guard down..." he complained to himself with a strained voice.

The winning odds started to shift tin Loogam’s favor. But only if the match was between those four.

"What’s the matter, Belian? You haven’t landed a strike yet, you know?" Sara stated with a smile as she kept swinging her sword at Belian.

"Tch..."

He was covered in even more cuts while Sara was still unharmed.

Belian was one of the top students, excelling in almost every field, however, if it came to swords Sara did more than excel.

If one would compare those two only with their swordsmanship, Sara would make Belian look like an infant.

And even if he had the advantage in magic, Belian knew that he could still not close the gap between them.

However, Belian was someone, who would not attempt to fight someone, against whom he knew that he could not win with normal means.

"Ugh...!"

Sara caught him by surprise by kicking him in the stomach, sending him over to the rest.

But unbeknownst to her, she just dug her own grave.
