Chapter 189: Feeling Comfortable
Now, only 5 days remained until the match between Loogam and Youra took place.
Mika and the others were now fully accustomed to the lessons here and even managed to get along with a few students there. Even the feeling of being discriminated against and isolated slowly faded away as the local students started to get to know them.
One of the reasons was that the white class kept going with their daily routine of additional training after their classes. And while doing so, they attracted more and more attraction to them with each day. Soon, a huge percentage of the local students came to watch them out of curiosity and joy.
Seeing the white-class students going at it earnestly, the students of Youra began to change their opinions of them and became less hostile towards them.
However, the students, who led the group of the more hostile students, Asak and Payl, were laying low and even missed some classes. Since the first day, when Mika and Asak sparred against each other, the two did not see each other again.
"Need some water?" Mika asked as he handed a bottle of water to Lisa, who sat down together with him.
"Thanks." she said exhausted.
She just took a break from sparring against the others. Today, they opted for single matches instead of a team battle, leading to Lisa having to fight against Belian. On the other hand, Mika just finished his battle against Rachel.
"You’ve put up a good fight." Ophelia, who was sitting on a chair she brought with her, praised Lisa with a faint smile.
Belian, who had won the match, was also exhausted but he still was eager to continue with the next mock battle. Now, he was fighting against Harik, while Lily was fighting against Rachel, who was also still motivated.
"..."
Lisa was watching the others.
"This class is really full of monsters..." she remarked taken aback with a drop of sweat rolling down her cheek.
"Don’t forget that you’re one of them." Mika chuckled.
In her previous class and year, there was no one, who could be compared to one of the current white-class students despite sharing the same rank. Of course, Xander was an exception as he was in a league of his own.
For Lisa, who was always the number two in her original class, it was astonishing to see how strong the others here were.
"..."
"Seems like you’re having fun." Ophelia commented, smiling as well.
"Huh? A-am I smiling?"
It seemed like she did not realize it on her own as she was touching her face and mouth.
"Well, glad to know that you’re finally feeling at ease around us." Mika stated with a wide smile.
For a moment, she was staring at him agape.
"I guess you’re right..." she muttered, smiling earnestly and faintly.
Back then, there was no real companionship in her class, however, the atmosphere in her new class was completely different, making her feel comfortable as everyone treated each other as equals and friends.
Lisa was chuckling quietly.
"?"
Mika was confused.
"Sorry, I was just thinking about how we met for the first time. At that point in time, I would have never thought that we would end up as classmates." she explained, still giggling.
"How did you meet each other?" Ophelia asked curiously.
When they met each other it was because Lisa, who was leading the disciplinary committee as its vice-captain, attempted to take down Mika, who was causing a ruckus back then.
"Don’t remind me of that..." Mika said shyly with a wry smile.
"But didn’t you enjoy my company during your time in prison?" Lisa teased him with a nod of her head.
"Did you just crack a joke...?"
Mika was astonished because it was very rare for the usually stern Lisa to joke around.
But Lisa kept laughing.
"..."
Mika heaved a sigh while he stood up.
"Instead of laughing your butt off, how about a little match against me, partner-in-crime?" Mika suggested, realizing that they had enough rest.
"Ugh... Don’t call me like that please..." she said, feeling guilty.
After all, she was the one, who helped Mika break out of his cell for the opening ball before the tournament due to a deal between them. In return, Mika promised to beat and get rid of Xander, indicating that she could get the position of the disciplinary committee’s captain. However, because of the turn of events, the committee ceased to be.
The two walked to the training space, leaving Ophelia, who was still curious about their shared past, behind.
"Anyways, I’m glad that we’re classmates now. Since we had fought each other, I was interested in you." Mika admitted.
"?!"
[Poor choice of words.]
Lisa suddenly stopped in her tracks as her face was heating up tremendously.
"What’s the matter?" Mika wondered, turning his head to her.
"I-interested...?" she stuttered, speaking in a high-pitched voice.
"Hm? Yes, I was fascinated by your fighting style and I knew that you were a good person. Having a reasonable and leader-like personality on our side will prove to be a great addition to the class." he elaborated obliviously.
She looked at him as if she had lost all hope in him.
"Ow!" freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Lisa delivered a kick to his calves and grumpily moved forward.
"..."
Seeing that from afar, Ophelia could only heave a sigh as she could imagine that Mika uttered something stupid again.
And without knowing what he did wrong, he and Lisa began their training.
It was evening when the group returned to the inn together like always.
"?"
But Mika, who was in the back, noticed something. He stopped moving and squinted his eyes inside a bar.
The others did not notice Mika stopping and just kept on heading to the inn.
"Sylvia...?" he muttered as he slowly directed his body to the bar.
The bar had an open entrance, making it possible for the people outside to look inside. There were many round tables and a counter to sit at.
Today, there were many customers, however, Mika was still able to spot Sylvia in the crowd as she was still wearing her robe while sitting with another robe-wearing person at a small round table.
"..."
Mika was about to sneak himself into the bar until he sensed an arm around his shoulder.
"What are you doing here~?"
At first, he was slightly off-put by the smell of alcohol coming out of the familiar person.
"Y-your-"
"Call me Tija, okay~? It’s an order, haha~!"
Just like on their first meeting, Tija Tiam, the oldest daughter of the Tiam family, was drunk. But this time, she was not attacking Mika.
"What are you doing here~?" she wondered until she looked in the same direction Mika was looking.
"A bar, huh~? Are you even old enough for a bar~?" she teased him.
"I-I’m sorry but I have to go..."
Sheepishly, Mika tried to escape her, knowing that it would end badly if he stayed longer by her side.
"Wait."
She grabbed him by his collar from the back.
"...?"
Nervously, Mika looked back. freewёbnoνel.com
"Why don’t we two have a nice long chat~?" she suggested with a seducing expression.
Tija analyzed her surroundings and spotted a dark alley right near them.
"W-wait a-"
And before Mika could stop her, she swiftly led him into said alley.
"!"
There, she pressed him against a wall with her knee between his legs and her right forearm on his chest.
"..."
Her cheeks were still red from the alcohol but her gaze was surprisingly stern.
"Why don’t you tell me about your power~?" she asked with a suggestive smirk.
She had been watching Mika and his class for the few couple of days. She even went through the reports about his classmates but it was only him, on whom she had not had a firm grasp yet.
She only knew about him aiding Olivia in the past invasion, however, that fact alone made him appear fishy as he was originally a black-class student. That meant that he was hiding something from everyone.
"..."
Mika showed a pained expression as she continued pressing her forearm against his chest.
"Sara and Yarjak could not stop praising you, you know? So why don’t you tell me already~?"
Her breath was tickling his ear.
"!"
But that was the moment when Mika had enough.
He pushed her off him and was now the one, who pressed her against a wall. Her arms were raised up with her wrists being grabbed by one hand.
"Can I ask why you’re so obsessed with that information?" Mika asked with sharp eyes.
Since a long time ago, Mika did not have to keep his powers a secret anymore, however, he still felt something strange about Tija’s behavior.
"H-huh...? I-I..." she was stuttering and constantly averted her eyes from him.
Her cheeks began to redden even more.
But Mika was mercilessly continuing to stare at her.
"D-don’t you think it’s a bad thing to pressure me like this...?" she muttered softly and embarrassedly.
"Hm? Weren’t you the one, who started this? So don’t act surprised if you get the same treatment."
His face unconsciously leaned closer to hers.
That was when she snapped from the embarrassment.
"I’m sorry!!!" she shouted as she freed herself and ran away.
"..."
Mika was left in the alley.
People started to look at him as if he was a pervert trying to seduce Tija.
