Chapter 154: The Hayth’s Guestroom

"?"

Clueless, Lily could only tilt her head.

"Hm~?"

Sylvia smirked amused.

"..."

Zhen narrowed his eyes before heading inside.

"I see."

However, Louis’ seemed unfazed.

He turned around and also was about to head inside.

"All the work must have made me sleepy. I’m already starting to dream." he muttered, shaking his head in denial.

Then, Lena approached Mika, who just wanted to dig himself into a hole.

"It’s not the reaction I wanted but at least one of them heard your words correctly. For now, we will have to wait and see what their next step will be." she muttered to Mika sternly.

"C-can I just go home...?" Mika begged quietly but Lena already turned her back on him.

With the carriages being led to the stalls, only Mika, Sylvia and Lily remained on the stairs leading to the mansion.

By accident, Mika and Lily looked at each other, however, Lily instantly turned away as her cheeks reddened.

"I-I-I will go inside, too!"

Thus, it was only two.

"How bold of you." Sylvia remarked, trying to hold in her laugh.

"..."

Gritting his teeth, he passed by her.

"It’s a misunderstanding..."

"Really~?" she teased him.

"And like always, I’ve drawn the short straw...!"

"Yeah, yeah."

But based on her tone, she did not take his words seriously and continued to mock him as they also entered the mansion.

"Woah..."

"As I’d expect from the mansion of the king’s court mage..."

The interior of the mansion was decorated extravagantly.

Golden chandeliers hanging everywhere. Expensive porcelain vases in every corner. A red and soft carpet laid on the floor. Paintings of seemingly ancestors on the walls. And no speck of dust anywhere.

But most importantly, this was just the entrance of a building with enormous space and multiple stories.

"I apologize. Because of the spontaneity and the time, only a handful of maids and butlers are available right now." Lena stated apologetically.

"..."

Both Mika and Sylvia were slightly taken aback.

The fact alone that maids and butlers were serving them was mindblowing to them.

"?"

However, Mika noticed quickly that Zhen and Louis were nowhere to be seen.

"They will guide you to your rooms. Do you want to sleep in separate rooms or maybe in the same room?" Lena asked, not treating it as a joke.

"S-separate, of course!"

"M-Mom, what are you even suggesting?!"

"Then, what about you, Sylvia?"

Ignoring the other two, she turned to Sylvia, who wore a mischievous smile.

"Why are you so opposed to that idea~?"

"Don’t you dare..."

"S-Sylvia!"

Sylvia stepped forward.

"Those two are just shy. I think I speak for every one of us if I say that we gladly want to sleep in the same room."

"Then so be it."

With a smile on her face, she snapped her fingers.

"H-hey!"

"Mom, don’t take her seriously!"

"Don’t be so cold, Lily. Aren’t we comrades, who faced near-death moments multiple times?"

The maids and butlers swarmed the trio and led them upstairs.

"..."

Lena waved her hand at them.

But as soon as they were not in sight anymore, her smile vanished as well.

"Now it’s time to beat- Ahem. To talk to him thoroughly."

Thus, she looked for Louis.

A few minutes later.

"..."

"..."

Mika and Lily blankly stared at the huge guest room, which the maids and butlers prepared in the brink of a second.

Meanwhile, Sylvia could not stop grinning self-satisfiedly.

"Care to explain what you were thinking, you idiot...?" Mika asked threateningly.

"Sylvia..."

Lily smiled but her eyes did not.

"Jeez, would you guys relax for a moment? How long has it been since we got the chance to loosen up ourselves?"

"That’s true..."

"Indeed..."

The two pretended to agree.

"But not like this?! Where’s your common sense?!"

"We can relax all you want tomorrow and the following days!"

They were grabbing her shoulders and shook her.

Sylvia smiled slightly.

For her, it truly felt like ages since she could hang out normally with her friends.

"Stop crying over spilled milk already."

"And who exactly is the one who caused all of this?!"

Lily sighed.

Then, the maids and butlers entered the room again.

"We have prepared your clothes. If you have any wishes, please notify us. We are in the room next to you."

Without even giving them the chance to say something, they left.

But Mika noticed that some of them were smiling excitedly.

"Ugh..."

He got goosebumps.

But that was not everything.

"!"

Every one of them turned their attention to the doorknob after hearing a clack-like sound.

"Don’t tell me...!"

Lily was the first one to rush there.

She twisted, pulled and pushed it but the door would not open.

"Did they lock us up...?"

"Hey, let me out! Help! I don’t want to be here!" Mika cried.

"..."

Sylvia looked at Mika blankly.

However, their struggle was in vain. No one came for help.

"Just accept this outcome." Sylvia said, shrugging her shoulders.

"Lily."

"Yes."

The next thing Sylvia knew was that she had a bump on her head.

"I will turn around so you can go and change first." Mika suggested, already facing the wall.

"P-promise that you won’t peek!"

"Do you think he has the guts for that, Lily?" Sylvia took a shot at Mika.

"Shut up and change already, Sylvia."

It was not long until they were done.

"You can turn around now."

Sylvia and Lily were now in pajamas, which had a pure vibe to them.

However, Mika was not fazed.

"Then, it’s my turn now, huh?"

Following those words, he began to take off his shirt.

"W-wait, we haven’t turned around yet!"

"..."

Even Sylvia put her hands on her face to block her view. But she left a hole between her fingers to peek.

Mika had to blush.

"N-now I’m feeling embarrassed, too!"

Compared to the girls, it took Mika a little longer to finish.

And after everyone calmed down, they were about to choose beds.

"I’m only realizing it now but..."

He looked at the beds.

"Why does it feel like they were anticipating our visit?" Mika wondered with reddened cheeks.

"Can’t deny that." Sylvia stated calmly.

"..."

Lily was blushing.

In the guestroom were three beds but they were all aligned next to each other.

"Let’s play rock-paper-scissors." Sylvia proposed.

"Sure... I just want to sleep right now..." Mika agreed.

Thus, they played as suggested for each bed. They began with the bed on the right and then with the bed on the left. The loser from both bouts had to take the center.

"Isn’t this the most problematic situation...?!" Mika said high-pitched as he laid on the bed in the center like he was inside a coffin.

"Don’t be a sore loser." Sylvia bluntly remarked.

"..."

The steaming Lily was facing the wall left to her.

"Now go and turn off the light." Sylvia commanded as she waved with her hand.

"You little..."

But Mika obeyed.

"Good night then. And remember, don’t touch me, okay?" Mika said as he covered himself up.

"Shouldn’t that be our line...?" Sylvia wondered.

"G-good night..." Lily said sheepishly.

Just one second of silence passed before someone opened their mouth again.

"Hey-"

"Just sleep already." Mika calmly interrupted Sylvia.

"..."

She lifted her upper body and looked at him.

"Hm!"

She pressed her hand on his mouth before she calmly finished her phrase. freewēbnoveℓ.com

"Do you care to explain that statement of yours now? What do you mean by being Lily’s boyfriend? Did I perhaps miss something?"

Lily, who also got up, was at first taken aback by the scene of Sylvia practically suffocating Mika.

However, Sylvia let go after finishing.

And the first thing, Mika did after getting up was to give her another bump on her head.

"How should I explain that...?" he muttered to himself while ruffling through his hair with one hand.

He glanced at Lily.

"I’m doing this because your mother asked me to."

"Mom? Why would she do that?"

"It’s just for your best."

Then, he laid down and covered himself up again.

"Hey, Mika...!"

Lily shook his body, which was covered in sheets.

"Just this time, you don’t need to know the reason..."

He knew that knowing the truth would hurt her and her relationship with her father.

"You just need to trust me this time."

"..."

Lily backed off and looked at Sylvia, who only smiled slightly.

"Jeez... Every single one of you is a piece of work!" Lily lamented as she laid down with a reddening face.

"But that’s why it’s so fun, right?" Sylvia responded, letting herself fall with a smile.

"Heh, that may be true." Mika muttered underneath his sheet.

Thus, the three fell asleep with genuine smiles on their face.

Except Mika.

The last time, he was on a trip with them, they disturbed his sleep, which made him wary of them if he would ever find himself in a similar situation.

Therefore, he was wide awake, keeping up his guard the entire night.

However, his efforts were in vain as they fortunately did nothing to him.

Still, he would greatly notice the aftereffects during the day.
