Chapter 56: Chapter 55: THE WATCHER

Eve woke slowly, her body aching in ways that were both familiar and entirely new.

She remembered Damian’s eyes going gold. Remembered the wolf...Kane...taking control. Remembered two hours of the most intense, overwhelming, brutal sex she’d ever experienced.

She should be traumatized. Should be terrified.

Instead, she just felt... thoroughly claimed. And strangely satisfied.

"You’re awake," Damian’s voice came from beside the bed. He looked wrecked...dark circles under his eyes, guilt written across every feature. "How do you feel?"

"Sore," Eve admitted, sitting up carefully. "Really sore. But....not bad? Just... used."

"I’m so sorry," Damian said immediately, taking her hand. "I couldn’t control him.

"He didn’t hurt me," Eve said, surprising herself with the truth of it. "It was intense. Overwhelming. But he didn’t actually hurt me. Look..." She gestured to her body, where the marks and bruises from this morning were already fading thanks to her healing factor. "I’m fine."

"You passed out," Damian said. "You were unconscious for hours."

"From intensity, not injury," Eve corrected. "There’s a difference. Damian..." She cupped his face, making him look at her. "I’m okay. Really. And actually..." She blushed. "It was kind of amazing? Terrifying, yes. But also...your wolf wanted me that much. Needed me that much. That’s...that’s powerful."

"You’re not angry?" Damian asked, disbelief clear in his voice.

"No," Eve said honestly. "I’m not angry. A little overwhelmed, maybe. But not angry. Your wolf claimed me. That’s what we’ve been waiting for, right? For the wolves to surface and complete the bond?"

"One wolf surfaced," Silas corrected, entering the room with a tray of food. "Two more are waiting. And after watching what Kane did to you...." He shook his head. "We’re worried."

"About what?" Eve asked.

"About what happens when all three surface," Damon said from the doorway. "If one wolf nearly killed you with two hours of claiming, what happens when three try to claim you simultaneously?"

Eve’s stomach dropped as she understood. "You think I can’t survive it."

"We know you can’t survive it," Silas said bluntly. "Not without preparation. Not without understanding how to manage it. That’s why we’ve called Elder Markov and Dr. Thorne. They’re coming tomorrow to help us figure this out."

"In the meantime," Damian said, "we’re being careful. Very careful. No situations that might trigger the wolves to surface. No intense feeding sessions. Just....gentle. Controlled. Safe."

Eve wanted to argue, but couldn’t. If they genuinely believed three feral wolves could kill her, she needed to take that seriously.

"Okay," she agreed. "We’ll be careful. But Damian..." She looked at him seriously. "Don’t feel guilty about Kane. He was doing what wolves do....claiming his mate. It’s natural. Primal. And I survived it. That means something."

"It means you’re incredibly strong," Damian said. "But it also means we need to be smarter about this. Because caring for you means keeping you alive, even from our own wolves."

Eve ate the food Silas had brought....her body needing regular nutrition along with sexual energy. While she ate, the brothers discussed their plans for the day.

"Pack business requires our attention," Damian said. "But we’re not leaving you alone. Marcus can handle most of it, but there are decisions that require alpha authority."

"I’ll stay with Eve," Silas volunteered. "Damian and Damon can handle pack business. I’ll monitor her, make sure she feeds if the bracelet turns yellow."

"And tonight?" Eve asked.

"Tonight we all stay together," Damian said firmly. "No separations. No situations where you might need to feed and we’re not available. We’re not taking any more risks with your life."

The day passed quietly. Silas stayed with Eve while she rested, reading in the sitting room while she dozed. Around 4 PM, her bracelet turned yellow, and Silas fed her....gently, carefully, stopping the moment she was satisfied rather than pushing for more.

It was so different from this morning’s brutality that Eve almost missed the intensity. But she understood why they were being careful.

When Damian and Damon returned that evening, all four of them had dinner together...a normal, domestic moment that felt surreal after everything they’d been through.

But Eve couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.

It started as they were clearing dishes. Just a prickling sensation on the back of her neck, like someone was watching.

She turned to look out the window, but saw nothing except darkness and trees.

"What’s wrong?" Silas asked, noticing her distraction.

"Nothing," Eve said, shaking off the feeling. "Just....tired, I guess."

But the feeling didn’t go away.

Over the next few hours, as they moved through their evening routine, Eve kept feeling it. That sense of being observed. Watched. Studied.

She checked the windows multiple times but never saw anything unusual.

"You’re nervous," Damon observed as they prepared for bed. "What’s going on?"

"I feel like someone’s watching us," Eve admitted. "I know that sounds paranoid, but I can’t shake the feeling that there’s someone out there. Observing."

The brothers exchanged glances.

"Your supernatural senses are developing," Damian said carefully. "It’s possible you’re picking up on something we can’t detect. Wolves have good senses, but succubi sense things differently....emotional energy, sexual energy, intentions."

"I’ll have Marcus increase patrols around the estate," Damon said, already pulling out his phone. "If there’s someone watching, we’ll find them."

But they didn’t find anyone.

The patrols reported nothing unusual. No scents, no tracks, no signs of intruders.

Yet Eve couldn’t shake the feeling.

As she lay in bed that night, surrounded by her three mates, she found herself staring at the window. At the darkness beyond.

Someone was out there. She was sure of it.

Watching. Waiting. For what, she didn’t know.

OUTSIDE THE ESTATE - MIDNIGHT

In the shadow of a massive oak tree, a figure stood motionless.

He’d been watching for three days now. Ever since he’d felt the surge of power that could only mean one thing....the Seraphim heir had awakened.

Twenty-three years. Twenty-three years of watching from a distance, making sure the binding spell held, ensuring she remained safe and hidden. Twenty-three years of honoring his brother’s dying wish....keep her safe until she’s ready.

And now she was awake. Transformed. Bonded to three alpha wolves in a configuration he’d never seen before.

She was magnificent. More powerful than even her parents had been. The soul bond with three mates was amplifying her nature in ways he’d never imagined possible.

But she was also in danger.

The ruby had started glowing two days ago. Which meant the Seraphim Court knew. Which meant her enemies knew. Which meant they were coming.

He needed to reveal himself soon. Needed to teach her to control her powers, to understand what she was, to prepare for the battles ahead.

But not yet.

Not until he was sure she was strong enough to handle the truth. Strong enough to learn what really happened to her parents. Strong enough to understand the role she was meant to play.

So he watched. And waited. And prepared.

Because the girl who’d been hidden as a baby was now a woman. A queen. The last heir to the Seraphim throne.

And soon, the whole supernatural world would know.

The figure melted back into the shadows, disappearing as silently as he’d come.

Inside the estate, Eve shivered and pulled the blankets tighter, still feeling the weight of unseen eyes.

Still sensing the watcher in the darkness. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

Still knowing that something.....someone.....was coming.
