Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Any Good at Night?

By the time they reached their peak, Gu’er was still panting, but she ignored her exhaustion. She got out of bed, grabbed the prepared basin, filled it with water, and cleaned herself.

"Aren’t you tired?"

Sun Jiaming’s chest heaved as he asked. He knew Gu’er liked to be clean, but this was a bit much—washing herself without even taking a moment to catch her breath.

"What do you think?"

Gu’er gave him a coquettish glare.

’Tired? Of course, she was. Her entire body ached. But she couldn’t worry about that now. She knew that if she didn’t wash up right away after they finished, the chances of getting pregnant were high, and she wasn’t ready for a child yet. So, no matter how exhausted she felt, she had to clean herself immediately. She couldn’t tell Sun Jiaming the real reason, though. He’d surely overthink it.’

After Gu’er washed up, Sun Jiaming got off the bed and cleaned himself too. Then, he swept her into his arms. Before Gu’er could let out a cry of surprise, he had already carried her back to the bed with long strides.

"I’m tired,"

Gu’er said hurriedly, afraid Sun Jiaming wanted to go for another round. It felt wonderful, but her body just couldn’t take any more.

"I never said I was going to do anything. I just want to hold you while we sleep. You’re thinking too much, aren’t you?"

Sun Jiaming’s eyes were full of amusement.

Gu’er blushed, turned over, and ignored him.

Sun Jiaming turned off the light, then got back into bed and held Gu’er. The two of them drifted off to sleep.

As it turned out, Gu’er hadn’t been overthinking things at all. In a sleepy daze, she felt Sun Jiaming enter her body, still in the same position. By the time she fully woke up, it was too late to protest, so she could only yield to him.

The next day, Gu’er woke up feeling sore all over, her back aching as if it would fall apart. She shot a glare at Sun Jiaming, who was smiling at her, but it held no real malice. In response, he simply pulled her into his embrace.

"Stop fooling around. We have our ceremonial visit to my family’s home today. If you embarrass me in front of them, just you watch how I’ll deal with you."

Gu’er threatened.

"Deal with me how? Honey, your husband is all yours to punish. Go ahead, do whatever you want to me. I swear I won’t resist."

Sun Jiaming flopped nonchalantly onto the bed, looking as if he’d welcome anything Gu’er did to him.

Gu’er placed her hand on Sun Jiaming’s waist, pinched a bit of flesh, and gave it a light twist.

"What a dear wife, always looking out for her man. That didn’t hurt one bit."

Sun Jiaming didn’t even furrow his brow.

Gu’er twisted harder.

"Easy there, my dear wife. You’re using too much force; you’ll hurt your hand. If you really break something, it won’t be working tonight."

Sun Jiaming took Gu’er’s hand and, after speaking, gave it a kiss.

Gu’er knew exactly what he was implying, and her face flushed. "Stop your nonsense," she chided. "Who asked you to perform anyway? I-I’m getting up. I’m done messing around with you. If we’re late today, everyone will make fun of me."

After speaking, Gu’er added, "My dad has to go back tonight."

Hearing Gu’er mention Lin Shan, Sun Jiaming stopped teasing her. ’Lin Shan had only taken a few days off and had to head back tonight. Gu’er’s uncle, Chen Damin, still hadn’t left, and from the sounds of it, he was going to be difficult to deal with. It seemed there was some trouble with his new in-laws. He would have to find a private moment to ask his father-in-law about it later and see if he could help.’

"Alright, I won’t tease you anymore. Come on, let’s go wash up."

Sun Jiaming took Gu’er’s hand, and the two of them walked out.

"Oh, you’re up, Gu’er. Did you sleep well?"

Grandma Sun was sitting on the living room sofa. Aunt Zhao had carried her out. Although she still couldn’t walk, she had much more strength than before and was fine just sitting.

"Yes, I slept very well, Grandma. What are you watching?"

Gu’er glanced at the television as she spoke. It seemed to be a drama series, but one she had never seen before.

"I don’t know what it’s called. Just watching whatever’s on,"

Grandma Sun said with a smile.

"You two go wash your faces. I’ll go heat up breakfast."

Aunt Zhao stood up. The others had eaten long ago but decided not to wake Gu’er and Sun Jiaming, letting the young couple sleep in.

As Gu’er and Sun Jiaming were finishing breakfast and getting their things ready, Li Hua came over. She asked what time they were leaving, explaining that Lin Shuying and her group wanted to go along with them.

Once they had packed their things and said goodbye to Grandma Sun and the others, Gu’er and Sun Jiaming left for the Lin Family’s home, carrying their gifts, along with Lin Shuying and her group.

The Lin Family’s home was bustling with activity. With their arrival, the house was packed full of people.

Chen Fengjiao was in charge of preparing the meal and wouldn’t let Gu’er help. Even though Gu’er was her daughter, on this visit back home, she was to be treated as an honored guest.

After the lively meal, Chen Fengjiao pulled Gu’er into a private room. To her surprise, Liu Yue Mei followed them in. ’Chen Fengjiao was annoyed. Her sister-in-law knew perfectly well what she wanted to ask Gu’er, yet she tagged along anyway. Did she have no shame?’

But now that she was inside, she couldn’t just kick her out, not with so many people right outside.

"Gu’er, how are things?" Chen Fengjiao asked. "Is Jia Ming treating you well? Did your mother-in-law and his family give you any trouble?"

"Everything’s fine. My mother-in-law and his sister-in-law went home yesterday. No trouble at all."

Gu’er said, not wanting to elaborate on what had happened at the Sun Family’s home.

"That’s good. Well, Gu’er, is Jia Ming... is he..."

Chen Fengjiao couldn’t finish her question. If it had just been her and Gu’er, she might have been shameless enough to ask directly. But with another person in the room, how could she possibly bring it up?

Gu’er’s face turned red as well.

"Look at you, what’s so hard to ask?" Liu Yue Mei cut in. "Gu’er, your mom wants to know if Jia Ming is... ’capable’ at night. Some men look big and strong, but when it comes to the bedroom, they’re useless. All show and no go. Jia Ming seems to have a good physique, so how is he in that department?"

Her question was so blunt that Gu’er grew mortified. Chen Fengjiao blushed as well, but she kept her eyes on Gu’er, clearly wanting to know the answer.

Gu’er said nothing. ’Sun Jiaming is... very good, isn’t he?’ freewebnoveℓ.com

’He had so much stamina; her own back was still sore from it all.’

Gu’er gave a slight nod.

Chen Fengjiao understood.

"Good, good. As long as everything is good."

Her heart was finally at ease.

"Now that that’s been asked, you can relax,"

Liu Yue Mei teased Chen Fengjiao.

Chen Fengjiao said nothing. Gu’er kept her head down, feeling a little awkward.

"Feng Jiao, since we’re all family here, why don’t you tell Gu’er about what’s going on with your brother and me?"

Liu Yue Mei gestured to Chen Fengjiao with her eyes.

’Gu’er had a bad feeling about this. So her aunt had followed them in for a reason after all. It was bound to be something she didn’t want to hear. Maybe I should just get out of here right now?’

"Sister-in-law, let’s just drop it. Don’t bring that up."

But Chen Fengjiao shook her head.

"Feng Jiao, didn’t your brother and I already discuss this with you?" Liu Yue Mei said, her voice sharp with displeasure. "You know things are tough for us right now. Ping’er needs to get married, and Yu’er is almost old enough herself. Shuangbao is only ten, but he needs money for his education and to find a wife someday. That costs a fortune! What are your brother and I supposed to do to provide for him? Now that your life is better, isn’t it only right for you to help your own brother and nephew? If your nephew makes something of himself in the future, he’ll never forget how good you were to him. He might even be the one to take care of you in your old age. Don’t you agree?"

Liu Yue Mei was clearly displeased, thinking Chen Fengjiao was being heartless and showing no concern for her side of the family.
