Chapter 45: We need to tell her the truth
Standing in front of the building, Erica lowered her gaze, her long purple hair falling forward, partially covering her face.
’I never thought that I would speak with her again...’
She clenched her fist at her side, her nails digging into her palm as she let out a soft breath.
The morning sun cast long shadows across the training grounds of the Spear Division... a place she had avoided for years.
’But for Klein, I have to do this...’
The thought of her new disciple filled her with a mix of pride and quiet determination.
Klein Faress has shown extraordinary talent in such a short time.
His comprehension speed, his natural affinity for the spirit and spear... it was all beyond what she had expected.
She couldn’t let her own pride stand in the way of his growth.
’He has such a great talent with spears. Just because of my selfish desire to keep him as my disciple, it will be trampling on his talent.’
Her gaze quivered ’...As his Master, I should do my absolute best for his growth.’
’It doesn’t matter even if I have to let go of my pride and shame... I will try to get her as his Master. Because she is the best when it comes to spears.’
Erica lifted her head slowly, brushing her purple hair back behind one ear.
She took another deep breath as she stepped forward toward the entrance of the Spear Division building.
The guards at the door recognized her immediately and bowed, but she barely acknowledged them as she walked inside.
Taking the lift, she reached the top floor.
She stopped in front of a large door at the end of the hallway.
After a brief hesitation, she knocked firmly.
"Come in," a calm, authoritative voice called from inside.
Erica pushed the door open and stepped into the office.
Shui Yinran, the Head of the Spear Division, was sitting behind a large desk, reviewing some documents.
She was a tall, elegant woman with long black hair tied in a high ponytail and piercing grey eyes.
She looked up when Erica entered, and an amused smile appeared on her lips "Erica Plunus, To what do I owe this unexpected visit? The Head of the Spirit Division rarely comes to my floor."
Erica closed the door behind her and uttered "I need your help... my disciple has exceptional talent with the spear. I want you to train him."
---
"Arwen."
Klein and Arwen hugged in the doorway and kissed as she entered the house, wrapping their arms around each other.
Arwen’s body melted against his, her hands resting on his back as she kissed him deeply.
"I missed you," she whispered against his lips.
Klein held her tighter, his hand gently stroking her back as he kissed her again.
"I missed you too. I’m glad you’re home."
Cynthia stood a few steps away in the living room, watching the two of them with a small, bittersweet smile on her face.
Arwen pulled back from the kiss and looked at Klein with soft eyes as she brushed a strand of his black hair away from his forehead.
"You look tired. Did you stay up late waiting for me?"
Klein shook his head, smiling as he took her hand and led her inside "Not too late. Cynthia kept me company."
Arwen turned to Cynthia, "Cyn, thank you for taking care of him."
She took off her jacket and hung it on the hook near the door, then walked into the kitchen.
"I’ll make us some breakfast. You two must be hungry."
Klein followed her into the kitchen, wrapping his arms around her from behind as she started pulling out ingredients.
He rested his chin on her shoulder and muttered in an affectionate voice "You don’t have to. You just got home from work. Let me or Cynthia handle it."
Arwen leaned back against him with a small smile on her face as she turned her head to kiss his cheek.
"It’s okay. I like taking care of you both. Besides, I missed cooking for us."
As he was about to speak, he saw Cynthia gesturing in the corner of his eye.
Hm? He raised an eyebrow, silently asking ’What?’
She gestured for him to come, and seeing this, Klein gently kissed Arwen’s shoulder "I’ll be right back, dear."
He walked out of the kitchen and followed Cynthia into the hallway.
She pulled him into the room near the living area and closed the door behind them. freewebnovёl.ƈom
"Will you tell Arwen about us now? About our relationship...?"
Klein nodded, "I intend to. We can’t hide it forever, Cyn. It’s good to tell her about it."
Cynthia panicked, and she stepped forward, hugging him tightly. "Please don’t."
"I’m scared. Let’s keep it secret for a while longer. I don’t want it to become an awkward situation. Arwen should know that I am already in love with you... but I don’t want it to ruin what we have right now."
Klein wrapped his arms around her, holding her close as he rested his chin on the top of her head.
"I know you’re scared," he said softly, his hand gently stroking her hair.
"But hiding it forever isn’t fair to any of us. Arwen is smart. She probably already suspects something. We can’t keep pretending like this."
Cynthia hugged him tighter "Just a little longer. If we tell her now, what if she gets hurt? What if she feels betrayed? I don’t want to lose either of you. I can’t lose this family we have."
With a soft sigh, he pinched her cheek "Cynthia... listen to me. The sooner the better. If we had a relationship behind her back and hid it for so long and we tell her at the end... she will feel hurt. So let’s tell her now..."
As he turned to leave the room, Cynthia grabbed his hand in panic "Wait, wait-"
"No. No... Cynthia, this is the best for us."
He opened the door as she kept pulling him back, and her grip was surprisingly strong.
Her eyes trembled in fear ’No, No, No, NOOOOO!’
In a desperate move, she jumped on top of him, wrapping her arms around his neck and clamping her hand over his mouth to silence him.
*thud* "Ack-" The sudden weight threw him off balance and made them tumble forward, both of them falling onto the floor in the living room with a soft thud.
Arwen walked out of the kitchen, wiping her hands on a dish towel as she heard the commotion.
"What’s going on out here?" she asked in confusion as she saw the two of them on the floor.
"Arwen-" As Klein was about to speak, Cynthia quickly closed his mouth with both of her hands and sat on top of him as they struggled on the floor. freёwebnovel.com
She was laughing nervously, trying to keep him quiet while playfully pinning him down.
"Shh, shh, don’t say anything!" she whispered urgently, pressing her hands over his mouth as he tried to speak.
Her legs were wrapped around his waist, and she was using her weight to keep him from getting up.
Klein’s eyes widened in surprise, but he couldn’t help but chuckle under her hands and shifted his body as he tried to push her off.
"Wait, Kay-"
"No-"
"Ahh-"
The two of them rolled slightly on the floor as they struggled and grabbed each other.
( ●´⌓`●) Arwen stood there, watching them with a mix of confusion and amusement.
"Are you two fighting or playing?" she asked, tilting her head. "It looks like you’re having fun without me."
Cynthia laughed nervously, her hands still clamped over Klein’s mouth as she looked up at Arwen with a bright, innocent smile.
"We’re just... playing around! Right, Kay?"
Klein managed to mumble something under her hands, but it came out muffled and unintelligible.
He gently grabbed her wrists, trying to pull her hands away, but Cynthia held on tightly as they continued to roll on the floor.
Arwen crossed her arms with a small smile on her lips as she watched them.
"You two are so cute when you’re like this. But if you’re going to wrestle, at least do it on the couch. The floor is dirty."
Cynthia finally let go of Klein’s mouth, but she stayed on top of him, her legs straddling his waist as she looked down at him with a playful, pleading look.
"See? Arwen says we should move to the couch," she said, trying to distract from the real reason they were struggling.
Klein’s gaze narrowed ’This won’t do.’
He pushed Cynthia down onto the carpet, rolling on top of her and pinning her wrists above her head with one hand.
Their faces were inches apart, and without hesitation, he leaned down and captured her lips in a kiss.
Cynthia’s eyes flew wide open in shock for a second as a surprised whimper escaped her lips.
Arwen froze in place as she stared at them.
After a few seconds, Cynthia hurriedly twisted her head to the side, breaking the kiss with a gasp "Arwen, it is not what it looks like."
But Klein grabbed her and replied with a grin "It is exactly what it looks like."
