Chapter 171: Chapter 100: Pale Elegy: Only I Can Touch My Little Mouse
Soon, the Kobolds were given generous portions of food.
They wolfed down their food, weeping with gratitude. The looks they gave Lynch were filled with fanaticism and loyalty.
Lynch was also quite pleased.
’Eat up. When you’re done, you can get to work and birth more pups for me.’
He had heard that Kobolds possessed a trace of Dragon Descendant blood. If they were well-nourished and bred prolifically, there was a chance they could produce a few dragon-blooded Kobolds for him—a remarkably powerful type of unit.

After dealing with the main mining area, Lynch left a portion of his Undead Corps to help Aus with the initial transfer of ore. He personally led the main force of his army to quickly clear out the other smaller mines scattered throughout the western mountains.
Just as his scouts had reported, these mines weren’t heavily guarded. Most held only small squads of seven, eight, or perhaps a dozen Gnolls. Their main duties were to act as overseers and maintain basic order; their nests and main force had been located in the large mine that was already conquered.
Faced with Lynch’s Undead Legion, these small bands of Gnolls were wiped out with overwhelming force, unable to put up any resistance whatsoever.
Lynch repeated his process, converting all the Gnoll corpses into Skeleton Soldiers and adding them to Bone Jackal’s Gnoll Skeleton Corps.
At the same time, he went to each of the smaller mines to pacify the terrified Kobold miners. After painting a beautiful picture of their future, he successfully incorporated these scattered Kobolds into his "working dog" system.
In just two or three days, the entire West Ridge mining area had been thoroughly purged and brought back under Lynch’s control.
Once the Kobolds calmed their nerves and filled their bellies, the entire mining operation would be able to swiftly resume.
Afterward, Lynch led his army, now laden with spoils, back to Lakefront Town in a grand procession, escorting the corpse of Hog.
In the middle of the procession, large flatbed carts piled high with iron ore were particularly eye-catching. Even though it was only about a tenth of the total ore, the sight was still magnificent.
When this victorious army, especially the carts piled high with ore, entered the town, all of Lakefront Town erupted.
The townspeople surged onto the streets, lining the roads to watch. Their faces beamed with excitement, pride, and immense gratitude.
"Look! Lord Lynch is back~!"
"So much ore! We won!"
"Those damn Gnolls have finally been killed off."

Cheers rose and fell in waves.
Some of the recently returned refugees, who were not yet familiar with Lynch, curiously asked what was going on.
The long-time residents pulled them aside, excitedly recounting all of Lord Lynch’s "glorious achievements" since his arrival: solving the food crisis, repelling Catherine’s forces, and now, successfully reclaiming the mines...
In that moment, Lynch’s prestige and the hearts of the people surged to new heights.
Riding atop Red Rabbit, Lynch merely gave a slight nod in response to the cheers, maintaining his usual cool and aloof image as he headed straight for the garrison.
Soon, under Aus’s direction, a new notice was posted on the bulletin board in the town square.
"Urgently recruiting master craftsmen with smelting experience. Also hiring apprentices in large numbers. Excellent compensation."
The goal, of course, was to restart Lakefront Town’s smelting workshop as quickly as possible.
An older man who had worked in the town’s smelting workshop for many years was brought in as a technical consultant to help with recruitment and initial preparations.
Aus was so busy he barely had time to breathe. He coordinated materials, arranged personnel, and planned every stage of the workshop’s reopening, pouring all his energy into the crucial task of reviving the smelting industry.

「Two days later, in the garrison cellar.」
The air was thick with the smell of preservatives.
A relatively complex pentagram Array, with Negative Energy Crystals at its points, emitted a faint glow. Dense Negative Energy flowed slowly within its bounds.
Hog’s corpse lay on a stone platform in the center of the Array, its body smeared with a thick layer of a special preservative grease.
Lynch stood before the Array, his face pale. The process was clearly taking its toll. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Normally, a Tier One Necromancer like himself shouldn’t be able to reanimate the corpse of a Tier Four powerhouse into a zombie. However, Lynch’s strength was already approaching the mid-point of Tier One, and with his considerable experience and resources, he could just barely make an attempt.
Other Tier One Necromancers certainly didn’t have as many materials to burn through as he did.
As a result, Lynch’s proficiency with the Zombie Resurrection Skill was not low; he had already reached LV2.
But even so, this operation was making him suffer. He had already downed several Awakening Potions and was on the verge of throwing up.
Finally.
He held on until the very end.
As the final, obscure syllable of the lengthy incantation fell, Lynch fought back waves of dizziness. He pointed his Magic Staff at Hog’s corpse and commanded in a low voice, "...In the name of death and eternity... awaken, immortal Warrior."
"HUMMM~~~"
The light from the pentagram Array flared to its brightest point, and all the Negative Energy surged madly into Hog’s corpse.
A moment later, the light receded, and the Array gradually dimmed.
On the stone platform, Hog’s "corpse" suddenly opened its eyes. Deep within them, two clusters of eerie green Soul Fire burned.
Lynch was overjoyed.
It worked.
He hadn’t just succeeded in turning Hog into a zombie—it was a zombie that possessed Soul Fire.
Moreover, he had already successfully established a mental link with it.
"Rise." Lynch gave the mental command, his eyes filled with anticipation.
