After they left the sales office, Shen Yanzhi looked utterly conflicted.
Shen Yanzhi stopped in his tracks. "I remember your family only owns a single supermarket. Where did you get so much money?"
Jiang Li already had her story prepared. "I’ve been buying stocks and investing in various projects over the years. I’ve earned quite a bit."
She averted her gaze. "It’s just, you’re not supposed to flaunt your wealth, so I’ve always kept a low profile."
Shen Yanzhi pressed her, "So why are you being so conspicuous now?"
Jiang Li took a deep breath, suddenly leaned close to Shen Yanzhi, and spoke with a look of utter sincerity. "Because I want to give you the very best."
Aside from the system’s influence, this was genuinely how she felt.
After all, a man like Shen Yanzhi—a prize out of anyone’s reach—certainly deserved the best.
The only reason she hadn’t bought one of those rings that cost tens of millions, like in the short-form dramas, was because the wedding had been too rushed.
Their eyes met. Shen Yanzhi felt seared by her earnest gaze, a jolt running through his entire body. In the end, he was the first to look away.
His Adam’s apple bobbed as he desperately tried to suppress the fluttering in his chest. He raised his wrist to glance at his watch. "It’s almost five. Should we go buy groceries?"
Jiang Li shook her head. "It’s still early. Let’s go shopping first."
Now that they’d bought the villa, she had to get the cars sorted out. And clothes, jewelry, all of that.
It wouldn’t look right if the place was empty.
Liu Bo had mentioned that the villa’s underground garage could hold 100 cars.
Shen Yanzhi had just returned to the country and probably didn’t have a car yet. ’I’ll have to buy him a couple, at the very least,’ she thought.
With that thought, she grabbed Shen Yanzhi’s hand, hailed a cab, and headed straight for the auto mall.
"You’re buying a car?"
If he remembered correctly, Jiang Li didn’t even have a driver’s license.
Jiang Li shook her head. "I’m buying one for you."
Shen Yanzhi arched an almost imperceptible eyebrow. "Somehow, I feel like I’ve married a rich woman."
Jiang Li gave him a charming smile. "You could say that."
Shen Yanzhi gripped the seat cushion and turned to look out the window. "If it were Zhao Sinian, would you be buying him a house and a car?"
Jiang Li scoffed. "What are you talking about? As if I’d ever buy him a house and a car."
Even with their marital home, she had only reluctantly agreed to buy it on the condition that his family paid for the renovations.
Shen Yanzhi sounded a little surprised. "But weren’t you with him for five years?"
Jiang Li realized Shen Yanzhi was controlling the conversation, leaving her in a reactive position.
Seeing Shen Yanzhi’s composed expression, Jiang Li suddenly leaned in, cupped his face in her hands, and said with conviction, "Shen Yanzhi, you seem to care a lot about this."
Meeting Jiang Li’s teasing eyes, Shen Yanzhi’s gaze flickered. He couldn’t understand why she was suddenly being so forward.
When Shen Yanzhi didn’t answer, Jiang Li’s interest waned. She let go of his face, sat back in her seat, and started fiddling with her phone.
Sensing her displeasure, Shen Yanzhi pressed his lips together and called her name. "Jiang Li."
Without looking up, Jiang Li let out a noncommittal "hmph." It was utterly dismissive. "Speak."
"I..."
Before Shen Yanzhi could finish, Jiang Li’s phone suddenly rang.
After he saw the caller ID, Shen Yanzhi turned his head away to avoid letting Jiang Li see the violent look on his face.
Jiang Li frowned, clicked her tongue, and immediately declined the call. Then, she promptly blocked the number.
She wasn’t some kind of saint. After the way Zhao Sinian and his family had humiliated her, she wasn’t about to remain indifferent.
She didn’t stop with Zhao Sinian, either. She went through her contacts and blocked every other member of the Zhao family.
After finishing, she set her phone to silent and suddenly asked, "What brand of car do you like?"
Shen Yanzhi was taken aback, wondering how she could jump from one topic to another so drastically. Still, he answered honestly, "A Porsche 911."
It was probably every man’s dream car.
Jiang Li nodded thoughtfully. "And besides a Porsche 911?"
At her question, Shen Yanzhi quietly listed off his dream luxury cars. "A Rolls-Royce Phantom, a Ferrari LaFerrari, a Bugatti Chiron, a Pagani Huayra, a McLaren P1, an Aston Martin Valkyrie, a Lamborghini Revuelto."
Although Jiang Li didn’t know much about cars, she recognized the brands Shen Yanzhi mentioned.
’If I can get all of them, I’ll probably get another quadrillion or so in cash-back.’
The thought alone was delightful.
With the driver’s announcement, "We’re here,"
Jiang Li paid by scanning the QR code without a moment’s hesitation, receiving over 6,000 in cash-back.
To save time, they started at the very first dealership in the auto mall.
She only bought the most expensive models, and they all had to be in stock.
After all, how awesome would it be to have rows and rows of cars parked in the garage? When you got tired of one, you could just drive another.
She put everything under Shen Yanzhi’s name, making the salespeople green with envy. They all assumed he was just some pretty boy living off a rich woman. It got so bad that Shen Yanzhi was tempted to pull out their marriage certificate to prove he was legally sanctioned for the role.

Faced with Jiang Li’s habit of spending money like water, Shen Yanzhi had gone from initial shock to numbness. Finally, he made a firm decision in his heart.

Getting in the car, setting the navigation, starting the engine, and pulling out—the series of actions was as smooth as flowing water.
His eyes were fixed on the road ahead, his hands with their well-defined knuckles gripping the steering wheel. The sight made Jiang Li swallow hard.
This was the first time Jiang Li had ever really seen Shen Yanzhi drive. She almost squealed, resorting to spamming Zhong Mufeng with reaction memes to express her overwhelming feelings.
But the twenty-minute drive felt like it was over in a few seconds for Jiang Li.
After all, she had spent the entire time indulging in dirty thoughts.
When they arrived at the shopping center, Jiang Li was even more direct, acting just like a character in one of those short-form dramas. "Aside from this one, this one, and that one, wrap up everything else for me."
