Chapter 1512: After Story: Both Of You Deserve To Be Happy

Sitting on the peak of the highest mountain in Solterra, Camazotz looked up at the star-filled sky. It was truly beautiful.

He had been there when Thirteen got married, and it made him think about his own future.

Back when that giant sword was about to hack him to death, dozens of black hands rose from his shadow and pulled him into a black coffin.

After that, he lost consciousness. And when he woke up, the battle was already over.

The coffin, named Blackfire, also healed Camazotz’s injuries. But that took time, since he was seriously injured and barely hanging onto life.

Lux, Blackfire’s master, ordered the coffin to heal Camazotz because Camazotz was a good friend of Lux’s benefactor, Thirteen. As a result, Blackfire protected the Death Bat’s body inside it while also assisting Eiko during the battle.

When all the battle ended, Blackfire spat the Majin Prince in front of Paimon, who immediately cried while hugging the still unconscious Camazotz.

She really thought that he had died. In fact, she was even thinking of following him to the afterlife so they could be together.

Lost in his memories, he didn’t notice someone had approached from behind him.

"What are you doing here alone, Camazotz?"

The Death Bat broke out of his daze and turned around to look at Paimon, who had appeared behind him.

"I was just thinking about what I should do now that the war is over," Camazotz replied.

"Oh?" Paimon smiled faintly as she sat beside the Death Bat to look up at the stars in the sky. "Then, have you thought of what you want to do?"

Camazotz sighed as he reached out to pull his lover closer to him. He then kissed her cheek before letting her head rest on his shoulder.

"Actually, when that sword was about to hit me, I had regrets. I should’ve told you that I love you," Camazotz replied. "I really didn’t expect that we would become a couple. After all, we were like oil and water when we first met."

"Indeed." Paimon agreed. "Back then, I hated you because you were a weakling."

"Ouch." Camazotz smiled wryly. "Well, truth hurts. I was weak not only in heart but also in mind and spirit. I only chose battles I can win. That’s why I am very thankful that Thirteen and I became a team."

"Right." Paimon nodded. "He changed you... no, he changed us all."

The weakest member of the Order of the Apocalypse had also survived all of their achievements combined.

Right now, Thirteen held the highest seat of honor among their organization, especially after the final battle ended.

That battle forever changed Solterra and the universe where it belonged.

Thirteen’s rebellion against Fate had opened up their universe from outside threats, like the Outer Gods and their minions.

Even now, somewhere out there, a world might be in danger of getting eradicated by these Outer Worlders.

But since Thirteen was the one who caused them to appear, he promised that he would also be the one to deal with them.

"Why don’t you join the Sentinels?" Paimon asked in a teasing tone. "Since we can now leave Solterra anytime we want, joining them might make things interesting, right?"

"Joining that organization will just make me painfully aware of how weak I am," Camazotz shook his head helplessly. "They have a God Slayer, a Heaven’s Necromancer, a Paragon of Eternity, and Thirteen. I’ll just be an Extra if I go there."

"According to Thirteen, you’re not an Extra," Paimon said with a smile. "You’re a cannon fodder."

"Thank you for making me feel worse than I already do." Camazotz rolled his eyes.

"Hahaha! Look at you, feeling so down just because you’re called a cannon fodder." Paimon playfully nudged the Death Bat’s cheek, with her own. "You already know Thirteen is the System of Cannon Fodders. That’s probably why the two of you got along very well."

Camazotz sighed once more. That discovery had shocked him as well. He always thought that Thirteen was some kind of Hero. Who would’ve known that the young man detested heroes very much?

However, when the Death Bat pointed out that Thirteen had married Stella, who was a Hero, and Shana, the Saintess of the Hero Party, the young man only said that the two of them were exceptions.

While Camazotz recalled this particular discussion with Thirteen, he suddenly remembered that there were three trainees whom the young man planned to enlist in the Sentinels.

One of them was named Alex Stratos, and the other was Leone Frontera.

But Camazotz couldn’t remember the name of the third trainee. The only detail he could remember was that he was the son of a Mafia Syndicate in his home world.

"Hey, why do you look down on yourself so much?" Paimon asked in a serious tone. "You protected Thirteen against Pseudo-Gods. That is not something a weak-willed person can do. Have more confidence in yourself."

"You’re right." Camazotz gave Paimon’s hand a light squeeze. "I need to be a little more confident. Not only for myself, but also for you."

The two then stared at each other and were about to kiss when they noticed a presence behind them.

The two looked behind their back and saw Thirteen looking at the distance, pretending he didn’t arrive at a bad time.

"Um, ignore me," Thirteen said without looking at the two lovers. "Please carry on."

"As if!" Camazotz complained. "Man! Talk about wrong timing!"

Paimon also glared at Thirteen. She had painstakingly created the mood so that she and her lover could spend some romantic moment under the star-filled sky.

Knowing that he was at fault, Thirteen didn’t try to make excuses and simply apologized for barging in at the wrong time.

"So, what do you want?" Camazotz asked. "I’m sure you didn’t come here without a reason, right?"

"Right." Thirteen nodded. "I came to look for you because I wanted to tell you something important. We’re looking for helpers for the Sentinel..."

"Helpers?" Camazotz interjected. "More like you’re looking for slaves who will work for free. See? Even you aren’t denying it!"

Thirteen coughed lightly because he was indeed looking for free manpower, and it seemed that Camazotz was perfect for the job.

But seeing the Death Bat and Paimon glare at him, he thought that he really came at the wrong time.

"Um, just think about it," Thirteen said before opening a portal. "Also, the two of you should get married. Camazotz, Paimon, both of you deserve to be happy."

After saying those words, Thirteen left the two alone once more.

Camazotz and Paimon stared at each other for a while before the Death Bat took out something from his storage ring and presented it to Paimon.

Since he had helped Thirteen fight in the previous war, Metatron allowed him to get a treasure from the Treasury of the Apocalypse.

The Death Bat had asked Metatron for a recommendation, and the latter gave him the ring of divine protection.

The God even hinted at Camazotz to man up and just propose to Paimon.

Thinking that the right time had come, the Death Bat finally took that step that would change his and Paimon’s life forever.

"I know that Jinns don’t really put a lot of importance in the concept of marriage," Camazotz said as he opened the small box containing the ring he had claimed from the treasury. "But even then, will you marry me?"

Paimon didn’t reply using words.

She instead cupped Camazotz’s face and kissed him deeply. freёweɓnovel.com

The two of them then let passion overtake them.

Under that star-studded sky, the two of them finally became one, and a year later, Paimon gave birth to a healthy son. She named him Sirius.

Camazotz then tried to play matchmaker, asking Thirteen to have his son and one of his daughters get married when they grew up.

Thirteen didn’t outright reject Camazot’s proposal. But he didn’t agree either.

Many years later, Sirius would grow up to become an outstanding young man, and perhaps due to the whims of fate, his wish to make Thirteen his in-law would finally become a reality.
