Chapter 50: Chronos Glitches!?

Jason followed behind Bella, he was quiet as he thought that she was going to take a shit.

Maybe she was too embarrassed to do so indoors even though this was far-fetched.

Jason was making excuse after excuses for her because he couldn’t understand why she would harbour any ill intent towards them considering how far out of their way they went out to help her as they could just as easily abandon her.

He also entertained the thought that there was a glitch in the system.

This was possible, even the best of games could have hidden glitches so there was no telling what was going on.

"Man, this is infuriating! I cannot believe my sleep was cut short because of this stupid system!" Jason was getting tired of this.

He wanted to rip out whatever it was that was in his head causing this.

But something was strange, Bella wasn’t stopping, she kept walking and walking.

Jason wondered where; she shouldn’t have any reason to walk this far out because they haven’t even scouted the area this far ahead.

The illuminating moon lit up his path and Jason walked with precision as his suspicion grew.

Chronos told him to eliminate the threat but Jason would only do so if he deemed her a threat.

He wasn’t going to kill Bella, especially not after they had shared an intimate moment.

Jason took a deep breath and she finally came to a halt.

Jason held his breath, crouching to the ground so he would be out of sight.

He was hidden from sight, waiting for her next move.

Bella just began to sob and this wasn’t the typical crying but it was loud and unpleasant. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

The sorrow in her cry made Jason’s heartache because it was almost like it carried her pain with it.

Jason felt bad that he followed her as he understood why she came this far out, it was to let out the tears that had accumulated.

Jason forgot for a moment that he wasn’t the only one adjusting to this new world, and didn’t know the type of pain that these people carried with them.

He looked to the ground in shame because he knew what would happen if she saw him.

She would not only be embarrassed but she might grow to dislike Jason and that was one thing Jason didn’t need.

"I’m fucking stupid! Of course, she has feelings! This isn’t porn!" Jason reminded himself because he was seeing Bella as some sort of tool to use to relieve his pent-up sexual energy.

Jason felt guilty, he didn’t tend to her emotional needs but only physical.

But in his defence, he thought that this was mutual as she didn’t tend to his emotional needs as well, that was where Rachel came in.

[Ding!]

[April Fools!]

A notification popped up and Jason’s face carried his frustration, he wanted to scream at the top of his lungs but he couldn’t do that because Bella would fuck him up with her masculine hands.

Jason knew he had intruded on a moment of vulnerability because Chronos wanted to play some sort of sick joke on him.

He missed it when Chronos stuck to missions because now he was adapting and becoming more social, learning human interaction.

It was evolving at an astonishing rate but Jason now needed to leave here.

But he accidentally stepped on a branch on the floor hidden behind him, snapping it into two.

He hoped that Bella didn’t hear it but this was a wish that didn’t come to pass.

Jason tried to hold his breath like that would make him invincible but he had the darkness to thank for masking his identity.

Bella’s body language changed, she immediately wiped her face as she looked in the direction that the sound came from but she couldn’t see anything.

Bella couldn’t ask who was there because she didn’t know if it was a zombie.

All she could do was stay quiet because she had wandered into unfamiliar territory.

This was an area they hadn’t scouted but it was also because of this reason that she felt safe to show such vulnerability.

Bella slowly approached the area and Jason held his breath even more desperately, he was praying to God that this doesn’t reveal where he was.

"GRWWAAARRR!" Bella immediately turned her head back because this was where the sound was coming from.

She saw a zombie that was 6’ 4, and the head was out of her reach, she couldn’t stab it even if she wanted to but she also knew that if she ran away then the zombie might follow her back.

She had to find a way to kill the zombie or draw it away but Jason knew that she might simply run into more danger.

He had a choice to make and he wondered if this was why Chronos tricked him into following her but did this mean that Chronos was getting involved in his personal life exempting the quests he gave?

But this was speculation or it would be akin to seeing the future and even Chronos shouldn’t be capable of this, no one could.

Bella was off and Jason again followed, he couldn’t lose Bella, not after this realization.

Jason was glad that he followed her but he also knew he needed to come up with a lie that would justify him being here.

The zombie followed Bella but Jason had no plans on letting her go too far, he was going to take down the zombie sooner rather than later but there was a problem. The zombie’s body looked swollen and bloated, it looked like something that had happened after death as a strange liquid was leaking out of its mouth. Whatever it was, Jason knew he had to stay out of its range.
