Chapter 86: Chapter 82: Mountain Breaker Lv. 1
[Mountain Sunder Lv. 1 (1/30,000)]
"Haaa..."
Su Xing drew in a deep breath and murmured, "I’ve finally broken through."
This time, he had once again entered that mysterious island. He was only released after the miniature figure there had completed its training.
’Was that little figure me?’ Su Xing often wondered. ’Maybe the system made me lose some of my memories and only let me out after I’d mastered the skill.’ It was just a thought, though. He had no way of proving it.
He glanced at the sky, now pitch-black, then picked up the phone he kept beside him and lit up the screen. The harsh light cut through the darkness, illuminating his face.
Late at night. 2:34 a.m.
Su Xing slowly got to his feet, stripped off his t-shirt, and slipped into the bathroom. The sound of running water followed.
Some ten minutes later, Su Xing emerged from the bathroom in a cloud of steam. He stood before the mirror, silently appraising his bare torso.
He slowly ran a hand over his muscles, each one as hard as a steel plate, feeling the explosive power they held.
Without a doubt,
his strength was the attribute he had improved the most recently.
As his palm glided over his skin,
the thick, blue-green veins beneath seemed to respond, pulsing faintly.
Bright moonlight streamed through the window, casting a silver sheen on his muscles. He looked like a cold, deadly machine of slaughter; the mere sight of him was enough to inspire terror.
’Muscles this size are definitely cooler.’
Su Xing averted his gaze from the mirror and nodded, satisfied.
[Pierce] had advanced to [Mountain Sunder].
In addition, his three Tier One Sword Skills had become Tier Two Sword Skills.
His body, which had grown leaner because of his [Spirit Sword] practice, was now defined with muscular curves again, radiating a sense of immense power.
Su Xing looked at his reflection in the mirror, took a deep breath, and casually pulled on a solid black shirt. After making sure Su Yu, Shen Ruyun, and Lu Anning were all sound asleep in their beds, he headed out of the Sword Hall.
Although he had already seen the miniature figure use "Mountain Sunder" on the island,
he still wanted to test its true damage and effects in the real world.
「Ten minutes later.」
Atop a hill he frequented, Su Xing stood facing an intact cliffside. Branch in hand, he assumed the opening stance for Mountain Sunder.
HUMMM!
He stepped forward with his right foot and thrust the branch out forcefully.
BOOM!
The branch shot forward, the sheer velocity making the air explode. A pale white arc of force materialized between Su Xing and the cliffside. The branch passed through the arc and struck the rock face hard.
The cliffside seemed to freeze for a moment.
At first, nothing happened.
Then, a dense web of cracks instantly spread across its surface.
Then, the entire cliffside erupted, exploding into a shower of rubble that flew in every direction.
The fragments of stone were covered in what looked like boiling bubbles and were rapidly dissolving. In the blink of an eye, nearly all the debris had vanished.
The entire motion, from start to finish, took less than a second. The massive cliffside before him had been reduced to utter dust, dissipating into the air. Su Xing couldn’t help but marvel at the power of "Mountain Sunder."
When [Pierce] evolved into [Mountain Sunder], not only did its grievous wound effect become stronger, but its single-target damage more than doubled.
As for whether [Mountain Sunder] or [Myriad Swords Return] had higher overall damage, he would need to run more tests to find out.
’But if all the swords from Myriad Swords Return hit a single spot,’ Su Xing mused, ’no other Sword Technique could possibly match its damage.’
’After all, Myriad Swords Return is only at thirty swords right now. There will be more and more. Its potential power ceiling is definitely the highest.’
Just as Su Xing was comparing the damage of the [Myriad Swords Return] and [Mountain Sunder] Sword Techniques, a spatial ripple suddenly materialized nearby. He snapped to attention, his eyes fixed on the spot as he called out in a low voice,
"Who?"
...
「Dragon Heaven Building—Underground」
"Finally, I’m done with the task the Vice Bishop gave me."
The Space High Priest gazed at a form and let out a slow breath.
The form tracked the number of new converts to the Spiritual Sect over the past few days. As of today, it had finally reached the quota set by the Vice Bishop.
The Space High Priest stretched languidly, her movements revealing impressive curves. She then sat down in her chair, gazing into the distance and murmuring,
’The Vice Bishop’s mission is complete. Now, it’s time to deal with those little brats.’
She slowly opened her right hand. On her palm, amidst five slender, upright fingers, stood a tiny figurine that was an exact replica of herself. The Space High Priest gazed at the figurine as if it were her own child, her expression turning affectionate as she spoke softly,
"This is a little tool I spent a very long time creating."
To put it plainly, the [Spatial Items] Sequence was the ability to create all sorts of space-related items.
For example, the white orbs the Corpse High Priest had used multiple times, her spatial markers, and even the pink hairpin from before—all of them were items she had created with her Sequence.
However, these items lacked any real offensive power.
This was why, despite her prestigious title, the Space High Priest had always been among the weakest of the High Priests in terms of combat ability.
She was even weaker than the Corpse High Priest and Qian Bian, both of whom were already dead.
That all changed six months ago when she finally finished developing this little gadget. It instantly elevated her to become one of the most powerful High Priests, second only to Beng Huai in combat strength.
The Space High Priest called this figurine Wen, which had been her own childhood nickname before she joined the Spiritual Sect.
Wen’s function was actually quite simple. It possessed outrageously powerful physical stats and the ability to traverse space. Furthermore, Wen could skillfully utilize various items and even the [Spatial Items] Sequence itself.
Most importantly, it was completely fearless. The moment it saw an enemy, it would launch a relentless, frenzied assault.
This frenzied offense, combined with the complexities of a space-type Sequence, made the figurine the Space High Priest’s most treasured trump card.
Aside from its inability to transmit information back if it was destroyed, the Space High Priest could find no other flaw.
She watched the figurine standing in her palm, channeling a continuous stream of her Sequence energy into it. Then, she gave her orders.
"First objective: capture Su Xing and Lu Anning and bring them back to me. They’re just ordinary people, so you must succeed."
"Second objective: If the opportunity arises, you may act against Su Yu. If not, tear open a spatial rift and return immediately. You must not be destroyed out there."
As the Sequence energy flowed into it, the figurine on the Space High Priest’s palm seemed to gain a flicker of consciousness. In a faint voice, it replied,
"Rest assured, Master."
...
"Who?"
As Su Xing’s voice faded, he clenched his right fist, and the Black Sword instantly materialized in his grip.
First, a slender, pale leg emerged from the spatial rift. Then came a soft, feminine voice—a voice completely devoid of emotion, like a machine.
"Target One identified. Commencing combat protocol."
