Chapter 1918: Chapter 495: Aislin in a Dilemma
The other ’Aislin’ found herself at a loss when faced with her own unyielding self.
Although, as Aislin herself had said, tearing off this false mask entirely wasn’t exactly difficult... there was still some room for struggle.
’Aislin’ desired this body, not merely for the Tower of Dark Enigma... although this world was barely a decent toy, it wasn’t worth such an effort.
She had her own agendas.
But she initially thought that this paper-made mask would dissolve when she ignited the fire of her spiritual power, yielding the body to her. Yet, surprisingly, Aislin, who had no strength to resist at first, managed to survive after sensing her identity and purpose!
How could this be possible?
It was merely a virtual persona hidden outside her soul!
How could it extend so many tendrils linking to her soul?
Although she could indeed shake off those countless but not deep-rooted tendrils... it wasn’t so easy.
At least not silently.
She was well aware that, although the main persona Glaysia resided in Sia Tower, she would never watch her create a disturbance big enough to catch Fengo’s attention... the Hell Prosecutor would lodge a complaint much quicker than she could react and silence it.
The most important thing was that, regardless of whether the complaint succeeded or not, this avatar of hers would inevitably be dissolved.
After all, she was created by the main persona using a part of her soul, and her capabilities were limited.
She knew herself well; although willful and reckless, seemingly daring to do anything, in the face of Asmodeus, she could only feel guilty and timid.
Her first reaction to any predicament was never to face it bravely... perhaps it was because she had been tossed into the ice pit to calm down too many times over the years... but rather to slap herself twice and then hide.
So, regardless of that person’s purpose, her first reaction was to completely destroy ’Aislin’ as an experimental subject: of course, there was a premise that Asmodeus’s scheme in this world might fail due to Glaysia’s underhanded plots.
Especially since this matter was related to the resurrection of her biological mother, Asmodeus would never allow her to act recklessly.
Glaysia was nearly constantly making trouble and mistakes, but those times when she made the Lord of Hell so furious they had to clear her mind were actually few... primarily concerning the control of Hell and Bisozeya; the other times, she was just locked away for a while to reflect.
Therefore, as long as Glaysia reacted quickly enough to make ’Aislin’ vanish before causing any major commotion, Asmodeus would at most just lock her up for another few centuries.
But how could she be willing to die just like that?
She didn’t even dare to let Glaysia know that she couldn’t solve even that outer ’false mask’!
Who knew if that person, after learning of this, would decide she was a failed product and reclaim her at his will?
Glaysia had always been capricious, and it wasn’t unheard of for her to destroy thousands of years of plans just for a momentary displeasure... often, her actions were solely to cause trouble for Asmodeus, without any truly significant purpose, so her decision to give up was always swift and clean.
Even though she was herself, thinking of the current predicament, ’Aislin’ couldn’t help but echo the sentiment shared by other Great Devils: how could Glaysia be neither like her mother nor her father?
No, should I say, how did she inherit all the flaws of those two powerful figures?
Was it really as rumored... that the Lord of Hell and the Queen of Hell, rather than being truly in love, were more akin to enemies.
Thus, all they were willing to give to their jointly created child was the most abnormal parts of themselves... otherwise, how could the essence of the coldest, most arrogant Bisozeya, and the most elegant, cunning Asmodeus, form a Glaysia?
’Aislin’ didn’t realize that her thoughts were a bit abnormal as well; she was more concerned with her future.
She must find the fastest and calmest way to thoroughly clear away the original virtual mask and absolutely couldn’t let herself enter Sia Tower in this manner!
But even though she now disguised herself as the main persona, making Aislin believe she was a soul avatar about to be reabsorbed into the main body, temporarily alleviating the other’s suicidal tendencies... she still couldn’t find a way to deal with the other side!
It was truly baffling... Aislin’s trusted and respected Ruth was on the verge of pressing her to death, yet she was happy about it?
’Aislin’ could sense that Aislin genuinely radiated a joyful aura from the heart.
Despite knowing all of Aislin’s memories and emotions, why couldn’t she understand this joy?
Even if it was a virtual mask, it was still based on her soul’s foundation... and although their words weren’t entirely truthful, they weren’t wholly false either... why did they exhibit two completely different reactions when everything was so clear?
’Aislin’ knew clearly that if it were her, she would be furious hearing Ruth’s response.
Was it because she had rationality, and thus couldn’t understand a madman’s thoughts?
Wait a minute... claiming ’Aislin’ was insane didn’t seem good either... damn it, what should she do?

"Hmm?" Hilbert shook his head, leaning gently back on the sofa, "These undead seem... not to be controlled... how do they resemble a junior Undead Scourge?"
"Teacher?" Russell asked in surprise, "What kind of spell is that?"
"A spell specifically designed to desecrate the dead, summoning corpses that are extremely low-level, vastly different from those nurtured using Styx Force in the Tower of the Undead."
"Is it a spell of the elementary stage from the Tower of the Undead?" Carpenter couldn’t help but ask.
"No." Hilbert shook his head, "The Tower of the Undead clearly belongs to the forces of the Styx, their necromancy borrows the Styx Force... although seemingly terrifying, it’s still permissible in the domain of death.
The Undead Scourge is different... it’s an enemy of the Styx.
Even though the Styx might not actively manage those who desecrate the dead, if caught, it would certainly show no mercy."
"So does this mean..." Russell hesitantly asked, "another force has come?"
"That, I do not know."
