Chapter 565: Chapter 408: The News is True, Migration?
They beat and cursed them at will. If a slave from a tribe was beaten to death, they didn’t care in the slightest. The naked corpses were just tossed into the forest for wild beasts to devour.
The Cloud Mist Mountain Range and the White Sand Salt Sea were immense, home to countless tribes of all sizes.
All of these tribes lived under the rule of the Super Tribes.
If any tribe, no matter its size, disobeyed a command from a Super Tribe, annihilation was what awaited them.
Or an entire tribe’s people would be forced into slavery.
Pushing aside his thoughts about the Super Tribes, the Snow Tiger Witch heaved a deep sigh. "In any case, just remember this: you don’t mess with the Super Tribes."
No one had ever seen the Snow Tiger Witch with such a grave expression.
"Then where will we go?"
Wu Yue’s voice was strained.
"We have to leave the Polar Forest. At the very least, we must be gone before the Super Tribes arrive. If they really have their sights set on the Crystal Cores, then I truly can’t say what our final fate will be."
Wu Yue’s fists were clenched tightly at her sides. Thinking of all the praise she had received from the tribe these past few days, the joy from her recent breakthrough vanished without a trace.
"Where do you plan on migrating?"
The Flying Eagle Witch stood up and looked toward the Snow Tiger Witch.
None of them wanted to become tools for the Super Tribes’ Crystal Core hunts, so leaving was their only option.
The Snow Tiger Witch shook his head. "I don’t know either. This migration is something you’ll have to discuss with your people."
’A migration, of all things...’
The Snow Tiger Witch let out another deep sigh.
The Flying Eagle Witch glanced at him. "I need to speak with my people."
The Snow Tiger Witch turned to the Half beastman Warrior beside him. "Take them to the small houses they stayed in during the trade gathering."
"Let me know once you’ve come to a decision. I’ll send some of my people to the Red Flame Plain to gather information. If it’s true, I’ll immediately inform Lion and Old Wolf."
The Snow Tiger Witch nodded solemnly. "Alright. We’ll focus on deciding on a place for the migration first. The rest is in your hands."
The Flying Eagle Witch nodded. In truth, he had already sent his own people to the Red Flame Plain to investigate as soon as they captured the Scorpion Tribe Beastman who had entered the Polar Forest.
Now, all he could do was wait for his people to return and confirm if the information was accurate.
Once the Flying Eagle Witch and the Beastman Warriors from the Flying Eagle Tribe had left, the room was plunged into silence.
The remaining beastmen all looked up, taking in the house around them.
These houses had been built so recently, and with such great effort. They hadn’t even lived in them for long. They had finally reached a point where they no longer had to go hungry.
How could the Beastman Warriors of the Snow Tiger Tribe possibly feel?
The Snow Tiger Tribe Leader stood below the Snow Tiger Witch, his hands clenched tightly. It felt as if his heart had been ripped out and plunged into a vat of boiling oil.
For the first time in his life, he felt the specter of slavery looming over him.
If the Snow Tiger Tribe, which had endured for so long, was truly trapped here by those Super Tribes and turned into slaves for Hunting Crystal Cores, it would be the ultimate humiliation.
"Witch, I don’t know much about migrations, so I’ll head back for now."
Wu Yue stepped forward, looking up at the Snow Tiger Witch at the head of the room.
The Snow Tiger Witch looked at the young female, her eyes slightly red, and sighed heavily to himself. "Alright, you can go back. I’ll let you know if there’s any news."
Wu Yue nodded, then turned and walked out of the house.
But now, each step felt incredibly heavy.
’System, did you hear that? I, your host, am about to become a slave.’
The System metaphorically picked its nose. ’Host, it’s not that this System isn’t pulling its weight, okay? It’s really because you’ve been cultivating for such a short time.’
’Those old-timers have been cultivating for centuries. There’s simply no comparison, so don’t blame yourself.’
When its host was unhappy, the System felt just as aggrieved.
All the way back in her own room, Wu Yue didn’t light her homemade Beast Oil Lamp. She just sat there in the darkness, utterly silent.
’System, is there any way to stop the people from the Super Tribes from setting foot in our Polar Forest territory?’
Wu Yue’s voice was strangely hollow, sounding a bit chilling.
’Unless you become incredibly powerful. Not just a Wizard, but an existence with formidable combat prowess and a Cultivation Level that far surpasses the Wizards of the Super Tribes.’
Wu Yue turned and patted Blue Fatty’s head. "You don’t seem to be running a fever."
The System froze. ’...’
After a moment, it understood the meaning behind its Dog Host’s words and instantly blew a gasket. ’Dog Host, can we not have a civil conversation?’
Wu Yue gave a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. ’I’m about to be screwed, and you’re talking about having a civil conversation?’
’With her current Cultivation Level, she was supposed to become a powerful existence who surpassed Wizards in a short time? And have formidable combat prowess, too?’
