Chapter 561: Chapter 407: The Scorpion Tribe Beastman Warriors Are Here
Ever since she saved Uncle Dashi and Shi Lin, their family had been incredibly warm and grateful whenever they saw her, refusing to hear otherwise.
Uncle Dashi smiled and wiped off a wooden stump in the courtyard. "Have a seat. I’ll go get you some fruit to eat."
Before Wu Yue could refuse, he had already disappeared into the kitchen.
A moment later, he came out with two bright red fruits. They were still dotted with water, clearly having just been washed.
Wu Yue accepted them with a faint smile. "Looks like I’ve just come over to freeload."
Hearing this, Uncle Dashi let out a hearty laugh. "I’d be thrilled if you did!"
With that, he looked at Wu Yue. "You just said you needed that boy, Shi Lin, to help you with something?"
He pounded his chest. "It’s the same if you ask me for help. Don’t let that boy Shi Lin’s youth fool you—he’s not as strong as me. I’m a Beastman Warrior, you know.
"Besides, that kid has hunting duties for the next few days. If you wait for him, who knows when he’ll be free."
Wu Yue was speechless. "..."
’Is it really okay for you to diss your own son like that?’
But Uncle Dashi wasn’t wrong. A Beastman Warrior’s claws were indeed much sharper than a Half beastman Warrior’s.
She took a piece of Beast Skin from her satchel, on which something was drawn in lines.
"This is what I need. It has to be carved out of stone, and I just don’t have the strength to do it myself. That’s why I was looking for Shi Lin’s help."
Uncle Dashi breathed a sigh of relief, his expression saying ’Leave it to me.’ "A little thing like this? I can do it."
With that, he took the drawing from Wu Yue’s hands and began to examine it.
The more he looked, the tighter his brow furrowed. "What are these two round stones for? And these sticks?"
"That’s the thing I need. I’ll need it to make some other things later on."
Uncle Dashi patted his chest. "Leave it to me. I happen to be free this afternoon, so I’ll go out and pick some good stones.
"Should they be hard?"
Wu Yue nodded. "Of course, but you have to be sure your claws can carve them."
"Don’t worry, Yue. There really isn’t a stone in this forest that I can’t carve."
Uncle Dashi said, full of confidence.
Wu Yue smiled and nodded. "I’ll have to trouble you then. Just let me know when you’re finished, and I’ll send someone to pick them up."
Seeing Wu Yue being so formal, Da Shi laughed and waved his hand dismissively. "Send someone? I’ll just bring them over myself when I’m done. That way, I can see what this thing is for. It’ll be a first for me!"
Wu Yue was, of course, happy to have Uncle Dashi deliver them himself. "In that case, I’ll have to trouble you. I’ll make you some delicious food when you come."
’Once these two stones are assembled, they’ll be a great tool. I’ll be able to make so much delicious food.’
Da Shi was naturally delighted to hear her offer. After all, everyone in the tribe knew how delicious Wu Yue’s cooking was.
He and Shi Lin were two males living alone; all they ever ate at home was roasted meat. If they wanted something tastier, they had to ask a slave or another tribesperson for help.
The two rough-and-tumble men found it too troublesome, only treating themselves to a good meal when they had ample time.
Da Shi’s eyes narrowed as he made a secret decision. He would wait until after the stones were done, then deliver them while that son of his, Shi Lin, was out hunting or on patrol.
The boy wasn’t very big, but he had a massive appetite. Da Shi decisively resolved to keep the delicious meal all to himself.
He clenched his claws. The decision was happily made.
After leaving the Beast Skin with the drawing behind, Wu Yue turned and headed back.
Unexpectedly, she heard someone calling out to her from behind as she was walking.
She turned to see one of the witch’s Half beastman Warriors running toward her.
"Yue, come with me to the witch’s place, quickly! It’s something very important."
The Half beastman Warrior’s expression was grave, and his eyes held a trace of unease. Wuyue’s heart sank. She immediately turned and followed him toward the witch’s home.
"What happened?"
The Half beastman pursed his lips. "Beastman Warriors from the Flying Eagle Tribe just arrived."
’The Flying Eagle Tribe?’
Wuyue’s thoughts paused for a moment. In the Polar Forest, the Flying Eagle Tribe had always acted as sentinels.
If each tribe had its own patrol, then the Flying Eagle Tribe was the patrol for the entire Polar Forest.
Whenever anything major happened in the Polar Forest, the Flying Eagle Tribe was always the first to know. Their role was equivalent to that of border guards.
The Half beastman Warrior continued, "This time, they brought the Beastman Warriors from the Scorpion Tribe we captured before. And those Scorpion Tribe Beastman Warriors insisted they have crucial information for you.
