Chapter 2128: Chapter 2329: A Chance Encounter with Gu Peng!!!
Everything was left unsaid, but a smiling face explained it all. However, Liang Xiaohan was kept in the dark about all of this, so seeing Hao Jian smile only made her more perplexed. As she watched Hao Jian with his unconcerned demeanor, she got anxious, considering how the others had quite a few followers under them while Hao Jian barely had anyone by his side.
Thinking about this gave her a headache. No matter how strong Hao Jian was, the bet he made was about the number of people, not a solo fight, right? It was a group brawl, not one-on-one. No matter how strong he is, he couldn’t possibly face so many people alone, especially with Gu Peng’s boastful nature. He’d definitely bring even more people that day. If Hao Jian isn’t prepared, won’t he just be...?
With Friday drawing closer, she got a bit more anxious. Yet, seeing Hao Jian so at ease, she immediately felt like an emperor not worried while the eunuch is. Angrily, she gave Hao Jian a look, about to turn and leave.
But at that moment, Hao Jian smiled again and said, "Don’t worry, I’ve got everything prepared; no need for you to stress."
Liang Xiaohan furrowed her brows slightly, "Prepared? What did you do? How come I don’t know anything about it?"
Hao Jian had no intention of hiding anything from Liang Xiaohan—it wasn’t necessary. So, he directly said, "These past few days, I’ve been busy with this; otherwise, why would I come back so late every day? Of course, I had things to do. What else would you think I was doing?"
"Oh, got it." Hearing this, Liang Xiaohan quietly said "oh" and then didn’t say anything else. Feeling bored, since Hao Jian had already prepared everything, she had no interest in asking further questions. She shook her head, then went back to her room to sleep.
Hao Jian chuckled quietly, surprised that Liang Xiaohan actually cared about this. It was unexpected for him. This girl, Liang Xiaohan, actually cared about others? Even though he was doing this because of her, it was still a surprise to be cared about by her.
Hao Jian adjusted his mood, having drunk a bit of alcohol that still left a lingering taste in his stomach, which is why he usually doesn’t drink. Although he doesn’t get drunk, even a little beer makes his stomach feel bloated. What he just drank wasn’t much, but it still upset his stomach a bit.
As he was thinking, Liang Xiaohan’s room door suddenly opened, and she poked her head out, wearing a sheer nightgown. Half of her body visible, she said to Hao Jian, "Oh, by the way, there’s Sobriety Tea I just made on the table. If you feel uncomfortable after drinking, you might want to have some. But if you don’t think it’s necessary, well... just leave it be."
With that, Liang Xiaohan didn’t give Hao Jian a chance to respond, closing the door immediately without saying another word.
Hao Jian instinctively glanced at the table, seeing a cup of Sobriety Tea there, a look of surprise on his face. Who would have thought the girl, Liang Xiaohan, would be so considerate, preparing a cup of Sobriety Tea while he took a shower?
For him, Sobriety Tea wasn’t really necessary; he doesn’t actually get drunk from regular alcohol. Still, since Liang Xiaohan made an effort to prepare it, he couldn’t waste her rare, kind gesture. Plus, his stomach felt a bit upset, so drinking some Sobriety Tea could help make it feel better.
Thinking of this, he showed a gratified smile, feeling like a parent delighted to see their child growing up and considering their parent’s needs. He then walked over slowly, picked up the cup of Sobriety Tea carefully made by Liang Xiaohan, and drank it.
Within two or three gulps, he finished the Sobriety Tea, looked pleased, and then returned to his room to sleep.
A few minutes later, Liang Xiaohan’s door quietly opened again. She first peeked her head out to see if anyone was in the living room. Seeing no one, as Hao Jian had already returned to his room, she tiptoed to the living room, moving next to the table. She glanced upward, seeing the cup of Sobriety Tea empty, revealing a smile on her face. She didn’t know why Hao Jian finishing her Sobriety Tea made her happy, but it wasn’t important. She didn’t even realize the smile on her face, then ran back to her room to sleep.
Early the next morning, Hao Jian woke up, feeling refreshed as he slept well the previous night. Seeing Liang Xiaohan still asleep and it being early, he went out to buy breakfast, sparing them time to avoid eating out. This way, Liang Xiaohan could sleep a bit longer, as a way to repay for the Sobriety Tea from last night.
If not for Liang Xiaohan’s Sobriety Tea last night, he likely wouldn’t have slept so well. He’d surely have tossed and turned, ruining his sleep; waking up would leave him feeling groggy.
He went out, had breakfast himself, and bought one for Liang Xiaohan before returning. Upon returning, Liang Xiaohan was still asleep. Seeing it was still early, he rested on the sofa. Shortly, Liang Xiaohan awoke at her usual time, surprised to see Hao Jian was already up and had breakfast ready.
She then washed up and sat at the table to eat. Seemingly lacking sleep, she didn’t say much to Hao Jian during the meal. After breakfast, it was nearly time to head to school. They both tidied up, grabbed their things, and headed for school.
By coincidence, not long after entering the school gate, Hao Jian encountered Gu Peng and his group. Initially, Hao Jian didn’t notice them, but when Gu Peng sneered in his direction, he realized their presence.
The two groups unexpectedly crossed paths at school. Gu Peng, leading a group, coldly eyed Hao Jian. Hao Jian had no intention of minding them, but seeing Gu Peng sneering at him, he stopped and didn’t continue walking forward. Liang Xiaohan, noticing Hao Jian’s pause, also spotted Gu Peng, her gaze carrying an impatient look.
"Tsk, tsk! Walking so fast, scared, are you?" Gu Peng taunted Hao Jian.
Those surrounding him jeered alongside, tauntingly gazing at Hao Jian. Hao Jian ignored them, simply staring at Gu Peng without a word.
Gu Peng smiled again, silently walking towards Hao Jian, saying, "Oh, you look so relaxed. How are your preparations going? You’ve boasted about it, and Friday is almost here. Are you confident? If no one assists you, that’s a huge embarrassment."
"Moreover, I’m not one to hold back. Even if it’s just you alone, I won’t refrain from attacking. If I don’t control my strength properly, it’s not my fault." With a pause, Gu Peng smiled at Hao Jian.
He observed Hao Jian’s demeanor. Apart from some girls liking him, few people followed him normally. In a group fight, how many people could he actually call for help? Thus, Gu Peng felt Hao Jian was destined to lose.
Withstanding Gu Peng’s mockery, Hao Jian remained unfazed. The one who laughs last is the true winner. Therefore, he had no intention of concerning himself with them. However, seeing Gu Peng’s arrogance, Liang Xiaohan couldn’t stand it any longer and wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine.
But at that moment, a voice called out "Hao Jian!" from not far away.
Hao Jian’s gaze followed the voice and saw that it was Li Weiwei calling him, standing nearby and observing everything. Immediately, he responded. At this point, Gu Peng also saw Li Weiwei, aware she was their class teacher, knowing how tough Li Weiwei could be.
Despite his disregard for teachers, seeing Li Weiwei inspired slight trepidation. Originally planning to continue taunting Hao Jian, Li Weiwei’s arrival cut him short.
He glanced meaningfully at Hao Jian, saying, "We’ll see each other again."
Then he smiled, turned away with his followers, and walked off arrogantly.
By now, Li Weiwei approached Hao Jian, having overheard the previous conversation. She knew Gu Peng wasn’t a good student—relying on his parents’ school connections to misbehave, while those with him were mischief-makers too. Naturally, as a teacher and class head, she wasn’t fond of such students.
Seeing the situation, she immediately called Hao Jian’s name, intending to disperse that group.
Coming over, she looked at Hao Jian, puzzled, suddenly asking, "I heard what he said. What’s happening this Friday?"
Upon hearing this, Hao Jian realized if Li Weiwei knew, as the class teacher, involving her would ruin the fun. So, he shook his head saying, "Nothing, nothing, just a minor issue, haha..."
