Chapter 2113: Chapter 2314: You’re So Nice!!!

Afterwards, Liang Xiaohan chatted with Hao Jian about this and that for a long time, aiming to make Hao Jian forget what had just happened. However, what she didn’t realize was that if she hadn’t mentioned it, Hao Jian probably wouldn’t bring it up again, and perhaps would have forgotten it soon. But being hounded by her to forget actually made him remember. The human memory has this peculiarity: things we don’t think about are easily forgotten, but the ones we want to forget tend to linger on.

Liang Xiaohan kept stalling Hao Jian for a long time before finally letting him go. The two quickly tidied themselves up and headed to school. During this time, Liang Xiaohan’s face was still blushing, clearly still replaying what happened in her mind, unable to let it go, while Hao Jian acted as if nothing had happened, striding ahead confidently.

The morning class flew by quickly. During this time, Weiwei sought him out once to discuss the class outing, and he reported back what he and Zhang Danlin had planned. She seemed quite satisfied after hearing about it.

Then it was time to collect the money. Since it had been mentioned in the class group beforehand, many had brought money with them. Originally, they were supposed to hand it over to him as arranged by Weiwei, but he felt uncomfortable holding onto it, so he gave it to Zhang Danlin for safekeeping.

Since Hao Jian suggested it, Zhang Danlin didn’t question it much and agreed. She then busied herself with collecting money and tallying the total amount.

Classmates were quite enthusiastic about the event, offering various suggestions which Zhang Danlin noted down. Hao Jian simply acted like a hands-off boss, only getting involved when a decision was needed. Otherwise, Zhang Danlin handled everything herself.

He was somewhat glad Weiwei had assigned Zhang Danlin to assist him; otherwise, he’d be exhausted. After handing over the responsibility to Zhang Danlin, he turned his attention to dealing with the Axe Gang.

During lunch, Liang Xiaohan unexpectedly left on her own without acknowledging him. Hao Jian, puzzled by her sudden change, arranged to meet Lin Dongyang at the cafeteria. When he arrived, Lin Dongyang was there with Li Yaqin.

Seeing this, Hao Jian felt a bit guilty, realizing he forgot Lin Dongyang now had a girlfriend, and Li Yaqin was his girlfriend. Having a girlfriend means moments like meals are couple’s private time, yet he called Lin Dongyang over anyway, interrupting their romantic time together.

But by the time he realized this, Lin Dongyang and Li Yaqin were already walking towards him with their food.

"Brother Hao!" Lin Dongyang put down his tray and sat down.

At this point, Li Yaqin also looked at Hao Jian and echoed Lin Dongyang, "Brother Hao."

Hao Jian nodded silently, a sly smile appearing on his face as he teased them, "Did I interrupt your alone time together?"

Lin Dongyang immediately waved his hand, saying, "Brother Hao, you’re teasing me again."

Girls are naturally a bit shy, and with Hao Jian’s teasing, Li Yaqin’s face turned red as a beet, and she shyly said to Hao Jian, "Brother Hao, you’re joking."

Laughing heartily, Hao Jian, seeing her blush, stopped his teasing and turned serious, saying, "So, are you ready for tonight? If you’re not ready, it’s okay not to go; no pressure. After all, there will be more opportunities to practice."

Last night, Lin Dongyang seemed a bit nervous, and today was the real deal, where fists and feet have no eyes. Considering Lin Dongyang’s current mental resilience, he’s fine at school, but dealing with the Axe Gang is indeed not a school matter; it’s outside in the real world.

So, Lin Dongyang’s nervousness was quite normal. His concern was that the situation could get chaotic, and if Lin Dongyang got accidentally hurt due to nerves, protecting him while managing the situation would be challenging. Hence, he said those words.

Li Yaqin listened beside them, not really grasping what Hao Jian and Lin Dongyang were discussing, but knowing that, as a girl, it was best to just sit quietly aside when she didn’t understand.

After hearing, Lin Dongyang said, "Whatever, it’s no big deal to go."

Hao Jian was merely suggesting it, but seeing Lin Dongyang wanted to go, he agreed, "Alright, since you want to go, find me after class."

Lin Dongyang nodded, and Hao Jian then glanced at Li Yaqin, as if seeking her opinion. Realizing Hao Jian was looking at her, Li Yaqin quickly understood, saying, "Brother Hao said go, so I’ll go. I have no objection."

Hao Jian and Lin Dongyang exchanged looks and smiled at each other, while Li Yaqin lowered her head, blushing. Suddenly, Lin Dongyang seemed to realize something and asked Hao Jian, puzzled, "By the way, Brother Hao, where’s Sis-in-law? Why isn’t she with you for lunch today?"

Hearing this, Hao Jian was puzzled, "Sis-in-law? What sis-in-law?"

Lin Dongyang paused and then said, "Sister Xiaohan, Brother Hao, stop playing dumb."

Lin Dongyang calls him Brother Hao and the boss, and now refers to Liang Xiaohan as sister-in-law, which clearly implies that he and Liang Xiaohan are a couple. When did Lin Dongyang start believing they were a couple? Hao Jian stared at him with a bewildered expression.

"Her? What kind of sister-in-law is she to you? Don’t talk nonsense," Hao Jian said to Lin Dongyang.

Upon hearing this, Lin Dongyang was puzzled and said, "Brother Hao, everyone knows about this. Why are you hiding it from me?"

"Everyone knows?" Hao Jian was even more confused, "What does everyone know? They’re just talking nonsense. How could she be your sister-in-law?"

Because she was in a higher grade, Li Yaqin didn’t know about Hao Jian’s situation in the freshman year. However, she often saw a pretty girl by Hao Jian’s side, whom Lin Dongyang told her was Liang Xiaohan, the sister-in-law. She remembered it at the time, so when she heard Hao Jian say it wasn’t true, she was equally surprised.

Lin Dongyang didn’t have time to ask more questions before Hao Jian said, "Don’t talk nonsense. People outside are babbling. Do you really believe them? How could I and that woman Liang Xiaohan be a couple? If you call her sister-in-law again, don’t blame me for hitting you."

Hao Jian spoke half-jokingly, so when Lin Dongyang heard, he immediately shook his head and laughed, "I won’t call her that, I won’t call her that anymore."

Then they continued to eat. All the while, Hao Jian felt strange. Why did so many people think they were a couple? And this belief seemed to have been accepted by many, even Lin Dongyang, who was always with him. Was it because he and Liang Xiaohan were too close, and needed to keep some distance to avoid misunderstandings?

But thinking about it, the rumors had already spread, and doing something further might not change it, and might even seem deliberate, resulting in a bad outcome. It might be better to just let it be. If everyone thought they were a couple, perhaps no one would bother Liang Xiaohan, which would be doing her a favor.

With this thought, his mood brightened considerably.

After eating, he separated from Lin Dongyang and Li Yaqin and returned alone to the classroom. But just as he reached the classroom door, someone called out to him.

"Hao Jian," the caller was Zhang Danlin.

Upon hearing Zhang Danlin call him, he stopped and turned around, and Zhang Danlin ran up to him, saying, "Uh, I’ve collected everyone’s fees, and it seems complete. But since everyone paid in cash, going to deposit it in the afternoon, I’m a bit wary of carrying so much cash alone, so how about you accompany me?"

Hearing the reason, Hao Jian paused. He had delegated the class outing matter entirely to Zhang Danlin, and since she was asking him to accompany her to deposit the money, it seemed unreasonable to refuse.

Anyway, the event was at night, so there was no rush in the afternoon. He was planning to skip the evening self-study for something big, so a simple money deposit likely wouldn’t take much time.

After a pause, he said, "Alright, wait for me after school in the afternoon."

Zhang Danlin was all smiles upon hearing Hao Jian agree. What she wanted wasn’t for Hao Jian to accompany her to the bank; that was merely an excuse. Her real intention was just to spend time with Hao Jian.

"You’re so nice," Zhang Danlin said, smiling at Hao Jian.

When Hao Jian was about to say more, she had already walked past him with little steps and a joyful face, heading into the classroom.

You’re so nice!

Hao Jian was still lingering on those three words.

Am I really nice? Really? Hao Jian asked himself.

Then he went into the classroom, feeling Zhang Danlin occasionally peeking at him secretly. He pretended to be asleep and lay on the desk to hide his embarrassment.

After a while, more and more people filled the classroom, Liang Xiaohan returned, and class began.

The afternoon classes were alright, but since he hadn’t slept last night, Hao Jian was terribly sleepy. Before long, he fell asleep on the desk.
