Chapter 2104: Chapter 2305: There’s a Giant Rat in the Room!!!

Zhang Danlin wrote everything in great detail during the planning, but Hao Jian only skimmed through it the first time he looked at it. When he read it for the second time, he still thought Zhang Danlin had done a great job, although there were some parts that seemed a bit unreasonable, which he pointed out.

Hearing this, Zhang Danlin agreed and tried to make some changes. It was only after both of them felt satisfied that they finalized the plan. Within two hours, they had selected hotels and restaurants for accommodations and meals. Since they were booking in advance, a deposit was required.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Danlin offered to pay the deposit first, explaining that her parents were in business and she didn’t lack spending money. Hao Jian, hearing this, offered to front the money instead. Zhang Danlin was somewhat surprised, as it was quite an amount, enough for expenses for dozens of classmates, leaving her wondering how Hao Jian would manage it.

However, since Hao Jian insisted, Zhang Danlin didn’t object—she let him pay the deposit. Afterward, Hao Jian made calls to the hotel and several booked restaurants, confirming the time and cost, then transferred part of the deposit to the accounts provided by the owners.

Once everything was confirmed, they did a rough calculation. To play in the Ancient Town for two days, including food, entertainment, accommodation, and travel, each person would need to pay 200 yuan. Considering food and accommodation were included, it wasn’t much. Once they decided on the amount, Hao Jian sent the total to Li Weiwei.

Li Weiwei might have been busy, as it took her a while to respond and say, "Okay, I’ll soon send a notice to the class group to inform everyone."

Very quickly, an announcement was posted in the class group, stating that the class outing would cost each student about 200 yuan, subject to adjustments, and that invoices for expenses would be shared after the trip.

Immediately, the class group was abuzz with activity, not discussing anything else but raising both hands to indicate agreement.

Seeing this, Hao Jian and Zhang Danlin smiled with satisfaction, feeling pleased that their efforts had been recognized. They began discussing other topics, such as what to bring, what to do if someone got injured, and handling unexpected situations.

It must be said that girls think of everything, and after hearing their suggestions, Hao Jian admired them. Another hour was spent listing out every detail, and by then, they were both slumped on the sofa.

Zhang Danlin appeared relaxed at that moment, appreciating the time spent with Hao Jian, and was surprised at how quickly time passed and how enjoyable it was. She found herself staring at Hao Jian, captivated.

Hao Jian noticed this and took the opportunity to excuse himself, heading to his room. Realizing it was nearing lunchtime, given the time that had passed from eight o’clock, he decided he’d eat out unless Zhang Danlin left. He thought about going out for lunch later.

Suddenly, he realized something—nervousness flashed through his mind.

His hearing was sharper than average, and he heard the sound of a door opening. Not just any door, but Liang Xiaohan’s bedroom door.

Early in the morning, Zhang Danlin had arrived, and they were so engrossed in discussing the class trip in the living room that they forgot about Liang Xiaohan’s presence. Fortunately, Liang Xiaohan hadn’t stirred in the morning, likely due to staying up late—resulting in her absence being overlooked by Hao Jian.

Nonetheless, just as he was thinking about lunch, he remembered the other person—Liang Xiaohan—and then heard the sound of her door opening. His face suddenly turned into an expression of extreme terror. Without thinking further, he dashed out of his room.

Almost instantly, Zhang Danlin, who was sitting in the living room contemplating something, saw Hao Jian rush out of his room and sprint into another.

Hao Jian moved quickly, reaching Liang Xiaohan before she could open the door completely, his hand on the door handle ahead of hers. Before she could step out, he opened the door and dashed inside.

Immediately, Liang Xiaohan was startled, wanting to scream, but as she was about to, Hao Jian covered her mouth with his hand, stifling the scream.

All she wanted was to open the door to wash up and eat lunch, having not eaten since the noodle bowl the night before. She was hungry as it was already noon. However, this unexpected scene shocked her, making her wonder if something serious had happened.

Still shaken, she saw Hao Jian, who had his hand over her mouth, whisper, "Shh... calm down. Something unexpected happened. I’m going to remove my hand, but you need to stay calm. Let me explain slowly."

Though Liang Xiaohan didn’t know what was happening, she nodded slightly in agreement. With that, Hao Jian removed his hand.

"You know, Zhang Danlin suddenly showed up. She wasn’t here for me, just to discuss the class trip plans—so please don’t overthink it," Hao Jian explained.

Liang Xiaohan hadn’t expected Hao Jian’s impulsiveness was due to Zhang Danlin’s arrival, though she wasn’t surprised. After all, Zhang Danlin had told Hao Jian she would discuss the class trip with him today, so she stayed calm.

Yet, she hadn’t expected sending those photos to Zhang Danlin would result in her visiting, instead of inviting Hao Jian out for discussion over the phone—this did surprise her. She understood why Hao Jian was panicking.

Though their close friendship at school was known, no one knew about the real relationship between Hao Jian and Liang Xiaohan, nor that they lived together.

With Zhang Danlin there, should she go out and be seen, wearing pajamas, it would surely lead to misunderstandings about them cohabiting.

Realizing this, neither situation favored Hao Jian nor herself, making her understand Hao Jian’s anxious reaction.

Understanding this, she calmly told Hao Jian, "Relax, it’s not a big deal."

Seeing Liang Xiaohan had come around and wouldn’t scream or go back to the room, Hao Jian felt a little relieved, saying, "Good you understand. You nearly went out and got caught. If not for my quick reaction, it would have been hard to clarify later—it would take a dip in the Yellow River to explain."

Raising an eyebrow, Liang Xiaohan asked, "Explain? Explain what? Living together is living together, explanations are just cover-ups. What are you hiding?"

Hao Jian, unwilling to argue, looked away, as Zhang Danlin seeing him rush out of one room and dash into another, thought something major happened, and asked concern, "Hao Jian, are you okay? Did something happen?"

Immediately gesturing for silence to Liang Xiaohan, Hao Jian spoke to Zhang Danlin outside, "Uh, nothing really, just found a mouse and dealing with it. Stay in the living room, don’t come in."

Naturally, fearing such creatures, hearing Hao Jian mention a mouse, Zhang Danlin felt a surge of fear, echoed an acknowledgment, and stayed seated quietly on the sofa in the living room.

Meanwhile, Liang Xiaohan glanced sideways at Hao Jian with disapproval. He had likened her to a mouse—a symbol of cunning and slyness, reflecting her disdain for such creatures. Comparing her to a mouse, stirred her anger.

Furious, she stomped down on Hao Jian’s foot, causing him to grimace in pain, "Auntie, what are you doing!"

"Hmph!" Liang Xiaohan shot him a look, "Quickly get rid of her. I’m hungry, and I need to wash up and eat outside."

Hao Jian responded helplessly, "Alright, alright, as long as you don’t come out and stir trouble, everything will be fine. I’ll take her out soon, and I’ll text you when we’re out. Then you can come out."

Though irritated by Hao Jian’s comment about her coming out to make trouble, Liang Xiaohan said nothing, crossing her arms and lying back on her bed.

Following this, Hao Jian composed himself and stepped out, ensuring to close the door behind to prevent Zhang Danlin from glimpsing the room.

Seeing Hao Jian come out, Zhang Danlin stood up.

"Everything okay?" she asked with concern.
