Chapter 2100: Chapter 2301: Unite All Forces That Can Be United!
He gestured to Lin Dongyang, who understood and walked over, then handed the phone to him. Holding the phone, he began slowly scrolling through the likes and comments under that video post in the circle of friends.
Now, the number of likes had reached one hundred and twenty-three, and the comments were even more, surpassing two hundred and ten. Scrolling down, most of them were praising Baldy, saying it was awesome, relieving their pent-up hatred, along with some other compliments. While Hao Jian realized the video served a certain purpose, its actual effect was indeed minimal.
What he wanted was for a group of people to see Baldy’s video and then join forces with him, uniting their power to confront the Axe Gang. Otherwise, everything would be a pipe dream, not even worth thinking about, and today’s actions would become the prelude to Baldy’s downfall.
Although he hadn’t told Baldy what all this was for, based on Baldy’s acumen, he probably realized and understood shortly after being told. As for the other younger members, up to now, they were still clueless, clearly not understanding what had happened and why these actions were taken.
All they knew was that it felt really satisfying when Brother Hao beat up Long San with their boss. Luckily, Yellow Hair wasn’t there; otherwise, they would have gotten hold of him and given him a beating worse than Long San’s.
While they were thinking this way, Hao Jian had already scrolled through many comments. Seeing nothing of substance, he put the phone down and was about to return it to Lin Dongyang, but at that moment, a few WeChat messages came in, making the phone vibrate.
The phone was Lin Dongyang’s, but the account was Baldy’s. After all, only his circle was filled with people from the underworld. So, as soon as the phone vibrated, Hao Jian handed it over to Baldy. Baldy took the phone, glanced at it, and a smile appeared on his face.
"Brother Hao, look." Baldy said, passing the phone over.
Hao Jian took a look, unsurprised, and said, "Set the time for tomorrow night, and talk to them about this then."
Upon hearing this, Baldy immediately nodded and said, "Okay, Brother Hao."
Simultaneously, he lowered his head again to reply with a message, following Hao Jian’s instructions to inform them they would meet and discuss it tomorrow night.
The messages were from some small gang leaders who had seen the video in his circle and got fired up, planning to ally with Baldy to resist the oppression of the Axe Gang and take back their territory and power.
In the past, no one led the charge, but now Baldy had posted the video of beating up Long San, clearly stating his stance and proving it with action. So those who watched from the sidelines, wanting to rise but lacking the courage, now reacted.
Initially, Hao Jian thought replies would only come by nightfall, but unexpectedly, responses came so quickly. The comments he saw earlier were pointless, spoken by those who dare only speak behind backs but are the most cowardly on the field.
But upon hearing this news, his face did show a hint of joy.
It seems many people still have the guts and spirit not to surrender. Just like Baldy, who, by joining him in this act, could have ruined himself entirely. Yet, this time, Baldy did it without hesitation, proving his courage.
Laughing, more people messaged Baldy, but he followed Hao Jian’s instructions, replying that they would discuss it tomorrow night.
Not long after, Hao Jian smiled, then stood up and said to Baldy, "Alright, I have other things to do. I’ll leave now; just follow the plan step by step, and let me know tomorrow night where to meet, and then I’ll come over."
Baldy nodded. After this incident, his view of Hao Jian changed again. Though he had thought about rebelling, he never imagined such a move existed. He deeply admired Hao Jian for it.
He had no idea how Hao Jian came up with it. Even if he racked his brains, he wouldn’t have thought of such a brilliant plan. And even if he did, he likely wouldn’t have had the courage to execute it, but Hao Jian thought of it and did it, leaving Baldy in awe.
At the same time, he realized the gap between him and Hao Jian, and his admiration for Hao Jian only grew.
Hao Jian waved and left the yard with Lin Dongyang, gradually walking away out of sight. Baldy and the younger members escorted them to the yard’s edge, only returning after Hao Jian walked far away.
At this moment, a younger member looked at Baldy confused and asked, "Boss, won’t our actions have consequences?"
Baldy stood with hands behind his back, deep in thought, and confidently said, "They will!"
Hearing this, the younger members showed a trace of worry on their faces. Until seeing Baldy reply to those messages, they didn’t know the meaning behind these actions. Now they realized, but regardless, they had indeed offended the Axe Gang today. If they still couldn’t contend, would they face retaliation from the Axe Gang, leaving no room for regret?
Hearing Baldy’s words, they began to worry. Today’s actions were indeed daring. It was thrilling at the time, but thinking it through, it was somewhat impulsive and could end in disaster.
"It’s either success or failure. Fail, and we end up like stray dogs, as despised as rats, without a foothold. But if we succeed, we’ll have a voice in Yun City." As he spoke, Baldy’s gaze fixed on the distance.
The younger members originally looked uneasy but after hearing Baldy’s words, they weren’t foolish, and it seemed they realized something. Their faces turned serious, they stopped talking, and all went inside the house.
This is their base where they hold meetings, though not generally active here. Aside from the two outsiders, Hao Jian and Lin Dongyang, hardly anyone comes here, and no one on the street knows of its existence.
Baldy had long planned it this way. In the underworld, it’s inevitable to have enemies, and thus a safe haven is invaluable. Though frequented, every visit here is cautious, and no one knew about the place.
So, even if Long San brought the Axe Gang’s people to cause trouble, they likely wouldn’t find this place, leaving them at ease.
Now, the focus shifts to the coming days, whether successful or failed.
The group went back inside, starting to work on tasks as instructed by Hao Jian. While some came forward, it was indeed a minority. Given the Axe Gang’s power and the current antagonism, they didn’t have much time. Thus, they not only needed others to come to them but also had to reach out to potential allies.
They were now following Hao Jian’s instructions, getting to work.
Hao Jian and Lin Dongyang walked side by side along the street. As they walked, Lin Dongyang’s phone suddenly buzzed. He picked it up to reply, and while replying, a smile appeared on his face.
Seeing this, Hao Jian knew what was happening and teasingly asked, "A message from Li Yaqin?"
Lin Dongyang, hearing Hao Jian ask, immediately nodded, saying, "She asked me to see a movie tomorrow."
Seeing this, Hao Jian said, "Go ahead, there’s nothing much tomorrow. If you’re free in the evening, join Baldy and me to talk with those people. If not, dating is more important; business can wait."
Lin Dongyang smiled, "Thank you, Brother Hao."
Hao Jian punched him in the chest, "Thank you, my ass."
He then glanced at Lin Dongyang’s phone, "Better reply quickly, or if she gets mad, you’re on your own."
Lin Dongyang chuckled and quickly replied to Li Yaqin.
If Hao Jian hadn’t let him reply, he wouldn’t have dared. His current status all thanks to Hao Jian. Without him, he’d still be that bullied, timid person.
Had it not been for Hao Jian rebuilding his confidence, how could he have mustered the courage to heroically save Li Yaqin that night?
Had impulsive courage not driven him forward, how would he even meet Li Yaqin?
It was after that night that their connection began, leading to frequent encounters and eventually sparking a romance.
In fact, they aren’t officially a couple yet, but it doesn’t matter much. They’ve held hands, taken walks, and chatted, essentially experiencing typical early-stage couple activities.
It’s just that one is thin-skinned, and the other shy, so neither has pierced that final layer.
