Chapter 24: 24. Third Rate Villains Plans
"Your bed has been cold for a while now hasn’t it," a young soldier clad in crimson licked his lips at the sight of the woman on the mat.
She was a one of the townsfolk, one of the many women whose husbands had gone to war, and he was here to take advantage of that.
"Please," she muttered, tears slowly dripping down her cheeks.
She was unwilling, yet lay sprawled on the mat, waiting for the inevitable.
The young soldier’s eyes glimmered with a lustful glint, drool already pooling in his mouth as he subconsciously unbuckled his armour belt, ready for action.
His pants dropped with a clang, a gentle breeze wafting in between his legs...
unobstructed.
"Huh?" the woman sat up, her expression one of shock, which quickly turned to mockery.
"Haha... Haha... Haha..." she burst into laughter, her laughter booming across the room.
Confused, the young soldier looked down, to the direction the woman was pointing.
His wingman, his dragon, the sword that was meant for a different type of battle.
The organ was not present...
"Ahhh!" His pupils dilated as he let out an ear-piercing scream, his voice coming out like that of a woman.
"Hey... what’s wrong?"
"Arghh!" he screamed, opening his eyes to the real world.
What he had just experienced was a dream, no a nightmare.
Cold sweat soaking his undertunic.
He quickly raised the blanket to check for his wingman, his mouth falling open, breath hitched, eyes wide.
There was nothing there.
A charred, rough-looking patch of skin where his family jewels used to be.
The soldier that had called to him shook his head in understanding.
He could tell from his reaction what he was dreaming about to let out such a scream.
"You screwed up big time, Rhodan..." his colleague said to him as he stood by his side.
Rhodan raised his head slowly, his expression frozen.
His gaze met that of his friends, who had also woken up, staring at each other.
Their expressions bore similar features.
Horror and shock.
"Well, you got what you deserved..." The attendant didn’t pay them any more heed as he left the three alone in the room.
Their expressions comically frozen, Rhodan’s eyes welled with tears.
The memories of lightning descending on his family jewels replaying, like a horror clip.
Their lust, greed, and folly had brought this upon them.
It would have been better if they had died; now they were basically females.
No, females could still enjoy the pleasures of the flesh. They were basically prokaryotes now.
"That boy..." Rhodan’s tears fell as he broke the silence, the image of Alaric fresh in his mind.
His teeth gritted, brows furrowed in rage, his expression twisting to something demonic.
Alaric’s indifferent expression was more vivid than the rain of lightning.
"That cursed brat," one of the other three gnashed his teeth, tears streaming down his cheeks.
He too remembering Alaric, his childlike voice as he spelt their doom.
And the last? He seemed to have accepted his fate. With his frozen expression, he lay back in the bed, pulling the covers over his head.
"Rhodan... We can’t let that brat get away with it..." Cole, the other victim of Alaric’s punishment, said to Rhodan, his eyes bloodshot.
"I am impotent...
I am now an earthworm...
I am an earthworm...
I am an earthworm..."
"Shut up, Bram..." Rhodan snapped at the third guy who had pulled the covers over his head. freewebnovёl.ƈom
"..." Bram kept mute.
He was the lackey among the three, his family a little lesser than the other two, though all three of them were from branch families of the five major fire clans.
" I will kill him... " Rhodan eyes blazed with rage, the tears unwilling to stop.
He felt humiliated, felt his life had come to an end.
To him, he had no use living as an impotent man, as his whole life was led by his wingman.
"But how? It’s impossible with the thunder princess around," Bram interjected, his face still buried under the covers.
"She can’t stay by his side forever." Cole smiled wickedly.
Rhodan smirked in agreement.
Bram could only keep mute.
"We should stalk him. When he is alone, we can gang up on him..." Cole suggested.
"If we harm him, won’t we die at the hands of the thunder princess?" Bram interjected again.
"Don’t worry about that. What is life without my sword... We are ready to die." Rhodan once again looked at the empty space between his thighs.
How could he keep on living like this?
"Die?..." Cole was taken aback.
"Can’t we, like, run away or something..." he added, his tone low.
"There is no way she would let us go. Let us die like real men," Rhodan explained, Cole looking at him wide-eyed.
He wasn’t as sex-crazed as Rhodan.
Though it would be embarrassing living without his wingman, that didn’t mean he couldn’t survive.
"Rhodan, I think revenge is a bit..."
"Let’s go for it," Bram interjected once more, interrupting Cole’s excuse.
"We will wait until he is alone and attack. The sooner, the better..." Rhodan’s voice was absolute.
He had resolved himself for death.
Bram too, feeling the same.
He was the lowest of the low and knew how far he would fall if people got to know he had lost his wingman.
It was better to die than to sink any lower than he already was.
"Wait, guys, we shouldn’t just accept death. There are surely remedies, artefacts, and potions out there that could save us... Even a healer water mage could help us. We don’t need to die..." Cole laughed as he spoke, his desperation evident in each syllable he uttered.
"..." He paused in his speech as he noticed the strange stares from Rhodan and Bram.
Bram peeked through the covers at him.
It was common knowledge that regeneration potions were considered legendary artefacts, and there wasn’t a water mage alive who could regenerate a lost organ.
What was Cole talking about?
Rhodan looked him straight in the eyes. "We move tonight."
He didn’t care for what Cole had to say.
He was the leader of the group.
He initiated them into the act of debauchery.
They did everything together and weren’t going to do things separately when it came to their final moments.
Cole reluctantly nodded, averting his gaze nervously.
"What have I gotten myself into"
