Chapter 2489: Chapter 2553: Young Master Yue

Wang Gang was beaten stupid. On normal days these guys wouldn’t just not dare hit him, they’d have to curse him behind his back in secret. How come they were all going crazy now, laying into him like madmen? Fuck, were they sick of living? Assaulting a superior, and not just any superior but the bureau chief—this alone was enough to get them all sentenced.

Wang Gang covered his head with both hands, his body covered in shoe prints.

Of course, these cops weren’t really trying to beat him to death, otherwise Wang Gang would already be seriously injured by now. They were just venting, venting the helplessness of being rank-and-file cops. Faced with a boss like this, how were they supposed to fight back in their daily lives?

You wanna talk "guts"? Not a single one of them lacks guts, but guts alone are useless. In this rigidly hierarchical society, guts are something that have to be suppressed. Even when they nab an actual criminal, if they don’t control their hands, the media will cut out clips to attack them, stirring up public hatred and disgust toward the police...

This was something better left unsaid. Li Yifei let them beat on him for a while, then finally spoke up: "Brothers, that’s about enough. If everything you said is true, then this guy really is a piece of shit. I promise you someone will investigate this thoroughly. If it all checks out, what’s waiting for him will be the full weight of the law."

The few cops were panting hard, clearly still worked up. Hearing Li Yifei’s words, they turned and said to him, "Boss Golden Eagle, we... we got carried away, but we still ask you to call the shots. This Wang Gang has done every bad thing under the sun, as long as someone investigates, there’ll be plenty of evidence!"

"Alright!" Li Yifei nodded and said, "Got it, it’ll be handled."

"Who the hell are you? What right do you have to have me illegally detained and beaten? I’m telling you, I’m a state policeman, I’m..." After that beating, Wang Gang’s head actually cleared up. He understood very well that the reason his subordinates flipped like this was all because of that man. It was that man who gave them the guts, so he had to figure out who the hell this guy was.

"Me?" Li Yifei pointed at himself, let out a dry chuckle and said, "You don’t need to know who I am. I am indeed illegally detaining you, and I did hit you. I also know you’re a cop, and a bureau chief, a Principal Rank cadre. But it doesn’t matter, none of that means shit to me. If you did the right thing, I’d respect you even if you were just an ordinary cop. But if you abuse your power and do evil, then even if you’re the mayor or the Provincial Governor, don’t expect me to respect you."

These words pounded in Wang Gang’s ears like a drum, thumping away, leaving him at a loss for words for a moment. Wang Gang wasn’t stupid. For someone to dare say and do this, he had to have serious backing. But right now, he himself was the one being locked up...

"Who the hell are you!" Still held up by two of his own men, Wang Gang shouted again.

Li Yifei snorted with laughter and ignored him. Wang Gang was quickly taken into the next room and cuffed up, his phone and everything else confiscated.

Li Yifei sent a message to Xu Yingying, telling her he needed some more time to deal with things on his end. Xu Yingying knew what he was working on and agreed.

Meanwhile, after Zhao Tiezhu and his people left, they started tracking where Yue Liang had gone to hide. The new development zone was pretty big, but Yue Liang hadn’t stayed there after fleeing the scene. He knew he might really be in trouble this time. Just wrecking a Lamborghini by plowing it into a tree was enough to make big news, and on top of that he’d hit someone. He’d run off and now that the fright was wearing off, he was still a bit spooked. But with Yang Jin pounding his chest and taking everything on himself, he was much more at ease. That guy had helped him handle plenty of dirty crap and had some skills; with his guarantee, chances were it’d blow over.

Now that a few hours had passed, Yue Liang had calmed down a lot. He really wasn’t anything good. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Yue Buqun spoiled him rotten from childhood, and his mother doted on him even more outrageously. Whatever he wanted, he got; whatever he thought of, they bought. Add in the group of Second-Generation Heirs he hung out with, and even though he was only seventeen or eighteen, there wasn’t much he hadn’t done, including ****** and all that, which he did all the time. His old man bought another villa elsewhere just for him, and that’s where Yue Liang usually lived—driving sports cars, living in a villa, having himself a grand old time.

"Fuck his mother, the Lambo’s totaled, I’m really fucking done here. There’s a meetup in the provincial capital next month and now I can’t even show up!" Yue Liang’s feet were up on the table, a bottle of imported liquor in his hand. He took a swig and started cursing. He still had two Band-Aids on his forehead. In a way he was lucky—given how the car crumpled, he came out practically unscathed.

A few young punks were sitting beside him. One of them had a shaved head, a big gold chain around his neck, and a shiny diamond nose stud. He took a heavy drag on his cigarette, blew out a smoke ring and said, "Young Master Yue, calm down. Cars get wrecked, you just buy another. As long as you’re okay. If something really happened to you, us brothers would be heartbroken."

"Get the fuck out of here, fuck. You think I’m crying over the car? I’m worried I can’t make that provincial meetup. We’ve only got the one Lambo. Now that it’s gone, those grandsons in the province will look down on us even more." Yue Liang cursed.

Another kid, still with a bit of a student look to him, said, "Young Master Yue, how about I go borrow one? I’ve got a cousin over in Black Province, he’s got a Lambo too. We could just swap plates when the time comes."

"Scram. What kind of shitty idea is that? You think I can’t afford a car, motherfucker? Borrow someone else’s? Tomorrow I’ll have my dad pick up another one for me!" Yue Liang grabbed a cigarette, lit it, and took a deep drag as he spoke.

One little lackey quickly jumped in to suck up: "Yeah, yeah, Yue Ye knows so many people. Get another one first, and then Young Master Yue will have two Lambos. Just park them at home, how badass is that!"

"Roll the fuck away!" Yue Liang was in a foul mood. He said that, but he also knew it wasn’t realistic. His old man did spoil him and never shorted him on money, but coughing up seven or eight million in one go for another car... yeah, even if they’d done it last year and again this year, doing it again now wasn’t too likely.

"Cool off, little brother. Your big bro actually planned to give you a surprise today, but then this crap happened. Sigh, if I’d known, I wouldn’t have rushed you." The man sitting on the sofa opposite them, legs crossed, was a bit older. There wasn’t a trace of apology on his face. As he said this, he paused, then let out a lewd little chuckle.

"Bro, this isn’t on you, I’m just fucking unlucky. If it wasn’t for dodging that old bastard, I wouldn’t have rolled it into a tree. Fuck his mother, if I’d known I was going to crash, I might as well have just run him straight over. Old bastard walking around without watching where he’s going."

"Young Master Yue, I’ll take some guys and find that old bastard and just waste him!" A lackey jumped up right away, eyes red.

"Get the fuck out. I’m already pissed enough that my car’s totaled and you still wanna go kill someone? Fine, go kill him, and then go turn yourself in after. Don’t fucking drag me down with you." As he said this, Yue Liang flicked his cigarette at the guy. The kid didn’t dare dodge; he grinned and said, "Boss, I was just mad on your behalf!"

"Fuck off!" Yue Liang swore, then turned to the young man and asked, "Bro, what surprise?"

"Take a guess." The man tilted his head and looked at him with a playful glint in his eyes.

Yue Liang grinned and sat down. "No way I can guess this one. Bro, since we’ve known each other you’ve given me too many surprises."

"Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. Remember that school beauty at No.1 High you had your eye on last month? Still remember her?" The man raised his brows as he spoke. At that, Yue Liang shot to his feet, clapped his hands and said, "Holy shit, bro, what are you saying?"

"What the hell are you getting so worked up for? The girl you’ve got your eye on, you think I’d try to steal her? Sure, you’ve had your fun with plenty of my women, but this is different. Those were all worn-out shoes—if you don’t play with them, someone else will. But this little school flower is different, still pure. I had people look into her. Not only does she get good grades, she’s got that slutty vibe too. Tall, great figure. You’ve got a good eye." the man said.

Those words hit Yue Liang right where it counted. He chuckled and said, "Bro, with you doing this... I don’t even know what to say. I really owe you one. I’ve been thinking about her for a long time."

Last month, Yue Liang had driven his supercar over to No.1 High just to show off, parking it sideways at the gate. Quite a few little chicks seemed interested in him, but Yue Liang didn’t care for any of them. Just when he was thinking the city’s top high school was nothing special, he saw a girl walk out who looked like a fairy. She was holding a book, wearing a white down jacket with fur around the collar. Yue Liang was stunned on the spot, instantly smitten. He walked over to try to chat her up, but she completely ignored him and just walked straight past.

Used to throwing his weight around, Yue Liang surprisingly didn’t use force that time, and he even stopped his lackeys from making a move. After going back, he kept thinking about her, utterly bewitched.

The man beside him knew about this. After that, Yue Liang brought up the girl again and again, always thinking of her but not wanting to just take her by force. This was when the male lead disease from romance novels kicked in—he wanted to move her with his looks and money.

The girl’s family was average, but her parents were decent people. She’d been taught since she was little to study hard and not hang around with bad types like that. When she found out what was going on, she immediately reported it to the school.

The school took it seriously and had the guards at the gate tighten security, not allowing any punks from outside to enter. Of course, this was also because the girl had good grades—she was in the honors class and a model student—so the school gave it special attention.

The girl boarded at school and only went home once a month. The time Yue Liang saw her was when she was going home last month. It’d already been a month now. He couldn’t get into the school; as soon as his car showed up at the gate, the guards would chase him off. Yue Liang couldn’t be bothered to bicker with those bumpkins. And of course, what he called "true love" did nothing to move the girl.

Now that the man brought it up again and even called it good news, Yue Liang immediately perked up and asked, "Bro, what’s going on? Don’t keep me guessing. Your little brother really... thinks about that girl day and night. Honestly, if you could help me get her, I’d do anything—go a whole month without ******, even go a whole year without touching any other woman!"

"Knew it—kid, you’ve actually caught real feelings this time. I know you too well!" The man stomped his foot and pointed at Yue Liang as he spoke.
