Chapter 2480: Chapter 2544: Getting Beaten Too
This guy just wanted to show off and had to take Li Yifei down. If he’d handled things fairly after arriving, Li Yifei wouldn’t have made it hard for him, might’ve even cooperated. Too bad that first sentence out of his mouth pissed Li Yifei off.
So with that, Li Yifei had no reason to give him any face.
So Li Yifei chose to go straight to throwing punches. Yeah, the moment the instructor gave the arrest order, Li Yifei made his move. In the instructor’s eyes, Li Yifei, who was a short distance away, suddenly just vanished, and the next second appeared right in front of him, then a fist smashed out, slamming directly into the instructor’s jaw.
The instructor didn’t even have time to react before Li Yifei’s punch sent him flying. That punch was vicious, and Li Yifei had actually used a bit of strength, so while the instructor’s body flew out, his consciousness instantly blurred. But before he completed the flight, Li Yifei grabbed his leg and gave a light tug, yanking him back.
The punch and pull happened so fast no one reacted. If it weren’t for the sound and the sight of two of the instructor’s teeth flying out, they’d probably think what they just saw was fake. Li Yifei had already decided he absolutely wouldn’t show mercy this time: whoever came at him, he’d beat. And not just beat them—after the beating, he’d clean them up properly.
Turning black into white, covering for their own, while completely ignoring the truth of what happened—maybe this is how they usually do things, but today, no way. The moment something happens, they don’t think about solving the problem, they think about covering it up. That’s something Li Yifei absolutely can’t tolerate. So he made his move, and once he did, he had no intention of stopping easily.
"Nice!"
"Beautiful hit!"
"Bro, you’re the man!" The onlookers weren’t afraid of things getting big. Seeing Li Yifei standing there alone, facing over a dozen cops and still daring to throw down, and his first shot even knocked out the leader’s teeth, they secretly cheered even harder.
The cops the instructor brought were all stunned. Holy shit, this is the kind of big news you don’t see in years. This guy dares to throw hands all by himself? Are we seeing this right?
"Get him, go!" The instructor fell to the ground, his mouth filled with pain. As soon as his brain cleared a little, he shouted indistinctly. He’d actually been hit, and in front of so many people at that. There was no way he was swallowing this.
"You’d better think it through. Can you really handle what happens if you go through with this today? If you can, then come over. If you can’t, then back the hell off!" Li Yifei’s cold voice rang out, making them hesitate. This guy who just attacked was way too calm, not panicked at all. Did that mean he really was that confident?
In their doubt, these cops actually didn’t move. The instructor spat out a mouthful of blood, forced his throat to roar, "Didn’t you fuckers hear me? Get him! If he dares resist, shoot!"
"Instructor..." One cop looked at him awkwardly. He knew whoever objected now might get marked down by the instructor, but he still forced himself to say, "Instructor, mind your wording, there are too many civilians here. I suggest we take him back first and sort it out slowly, instead of handling it here..."
"Bullshit, you blind or what? Didn’t you see me get hit? This is assaulting a cop, it’s a crime. Are you even police or not? Hurry up and grab him for me!" The instructor got agitated and started talking faster. As he spoke, another tooth flew out of his mouth and landed not far away.
Some of these cops were close to the instructor. As soon as they heard him, they moved immediately. Standing opposite them, Li Yifei chuckled, "So you’re dead set on continuing your crap, huh? Then don’t blame me for being rude. I’ll say it right here: even if this blows all the way up to the city and the province today, don’t expect it to end peacefully. Anyone who dares come at me, I’ll beat him till he can’t take care of himself in daily life."
Whoa. The crowd of onlookers heard that and their eyes lit up even more. What kind of badass is this, to dare say something like that? That’s some next-level arrogance. As bystanders, of course they hoped the bigger the mess, the better. Only then was there a real show to watch. As for whether someone might die, they couldn’t care less. As long as it blew up, it was fine.
It’s not that they didn’t recognize Li Yifei, it’s that he’d just blurred his features. It was a strange kind of disguise, something Li Yifei had realized after waking up. So to outsiders, his face looked utterly ordinary, nothing special about his features at all, which was why no one recognized him. Otherwise, with Li Yifei’s reputation, people in Ning Province who regularly watched the news not knowing him would be pretty much impossible.
So if we lay a hand on you, we’re "doing evil"? The cops looked at each other. One of them spat on the ground, pulled the baton from his belt, grabbed the cuffs with his other hand, and stared at Li Yifei with a gloomy look. As he approached, he said, "Kid, you better behave. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. You hit our instructor, this is a serious incident. No matter whether you were in the right before, you’ve broken the law now. So be smart and come back with us to the station for investigation and handling. Otherwise, if you insist on resisting, we came armed. Bullets don’t exactly have eyes."
Li Yifei slanted him a glance. "You think I’ve never seen bullets before? Looks like you’re all in on this together. In that case, don’t blame me for not warning you. If you dare hit me, I’ll hit you back."
So there was nothing to talk about. The guy gripped his baton and walked toward Li Yifei step by step. A few steps later, he was right in front of him. Seeing Li Yifei not moving, he lifted the cuffs first, reaching to put them on Li Yifei.
"Pa!" Li Yifei slapped his hand away and shot him a cold look. The man instinctively tried to raise the baton to swing. Whenever they responded to incidents, when facing suspects, he never cared whether they hurt or got injured—he always swung first and talked later. But this time he didn’t get the chance. If Li Yifei actually let him land a hit, that’d be way too embarrassing.
The guy just felt his vision blur, and then his hand suddenly felt empty. In what seemed like just an instant, the baton appeared in the other man’s hand, already swinging back at him. He instinctively raised his arms to block, but he was still a step too slow. The baton smashed into his face with a crack, and he flew out with a cry.
"Thud!" Every cop present felt their hearts lurch. None of them had expected Li Yifei to be this fierce. Not only did he beat the instructor in front of everyone and then threaten them, he actually followed through and attacked again. This guy was way too hardcore.
"Fuck you all. You’re not going, huh? I’ll have you all disciplined when we get back!" When the instructor saw the only cop who’d acted get sent flying, he immediately blew up. After cursing them out, he yanked out his phone and started making calls, summoning the SWAT Team for backup. He had the authority to do that. Li Yifei didn’t stop him; he just swept his gaze over the wavering cops and said, "My advice? Back off a few dozen meters and just watch the show. Keep the scene in order. Of course, you can also rush me and let me beat you up. But don’t say I didn’t warn you—if I hit you, it won’t be for nothing. Whoever gets smacked is going to be even more unlucky afterward."
Hiss! The cop who’d just been knocked down had just managed to climb to his feet when he heard Li Yifei’s threat. A chill ran through his heart. Who the hell was this guy? How could he be this violent? Say he’ll hit back and then really hit back. Say he’ll throw down and then really doesn’t hold back. Damn it, that one swing damn near shattered his jawbone—his whole lower jaw throbbed with pain and he couldn’t even speak.
Running into a psycho like this, what good is it being a cop? So the guy wisely crawled away on the ground, quietly getting out of range so he wouldn’t take another beating.
"Fine, fine, fine, you’re all stepping back, huh? Just you wait!" When the instructor saw that after Li Yifei’s speech, some of the cops really did back off, he flew into a rage, now hating them too. The ones who stepped back, though, were thinking, Screw it, it’s not like you’ve ever done me any favors or looked out for me. Why the hell should I take this risk for you? I’m staying out of this shit. Who knows what kind of background someone this ruthless has.
Li Yifei frowned, just finding this instructor and that earlier cop absolutely ridiculous. They didn’t care about facts, didn’t ask who was right or wrong, didn’t care about cause and effect. Especially this instructor—his bias was so obvious it couldn’t be more obvious. Just because his pride got hurt, he was hell-bent on escalating things regardless of right or wrong.
Seriously... he deserved a beating. With that thought, Li Yifei kicked out again. Even though his foot never actually touched the instructor, the guy still went flying, skimming across the ground for over ten meters before finally coming to a stop.
To kick someone, you don’t actually have to make contact. You can still send them flying easily. The other cops were stunned again. To them, this was basically supernatural. The man only made a kicking motion; he didn’t touch the instructor at all, yet the instructor flew out. This had to be a joke, right? But the instructor wasn’t faking a fall to blackmail anyone; he might fake a one- or two-meter flop, but there was no way he could fake flying more than ten meters.
Freaky. Way too freaky. With that thought, they were even more determined to back away. So after a minute or two, most of the cops had retreated to the distance, supposedly "maintaining order," clearing out the area and pushing the onlookers back.
They drove the onlookers out of the hospital, leaving the field completely open for Li Yifei to perform. During that time, the instructor kept cursing at the top of his lungs, but it didn’t do any good. After a few more kicks from that man, the instructor couldn’t even curse anymore, because he’d been kicked so hard he couldn’t speak.
Thank god it’s not me. That’s what these cops thought with relief. The three cops from the very beginning felt this even more. Good thing they’d had some sense and hadn’t directly clashed with Li Yifei, and had apologized and backed down early. Otherwise, they’d be the ones getting their asses kicked.
It’s not that they hadn’t brought a gun. They’d taken one when they responded to the call. In Huaxia, guns aren’t needed for most cases. Social order in this country is actually very good. They’d assumed this was just some minor dispute. Who knew Li Yifei would dare to take on more than ten of them alone and actually start swinging.
By the time the cop with the gun remembered he was carrying, it was already too late. The instructor had been beaten to the point he couldn’t even curse anymore.
