Chapter 2399: Chapter 2463: Type 3 Humans

Outside, the Saint Woman had already taken down three tall individuals. Although she was esteemed as the Saint Woman and seldom killed personally, it didn’t mean she couldn’t. In terms of lethality, she wasn’t much weaker than Li Yifei.

There was no sound from Li Yifei in the earpiece, or rather, once he went in and the door closed, there was nothing. So, according to their plan, no matter which step they reached, they would launch an attack in five minutes. Given their skills, it’s unlikely anyone in the base could stop them.

Hearing a noise from the house on the left, the Saint Woman stealthily made her way over. This time, she finally saw someone of normal height, a man with a Northern European face and a large beard, wearing a protective suit. The Saint Woman appeared behind him, lightly coughed to interrupt his humming. The man quickly turned his head and, upon seeing the Saint Woman, showed a hint of astonishment. The Saint Woman smiled slightly and struck instantly. The man froze momentarily and fell backward.

The Saint Woman grabbed his clothes to prevent a loud noise from him hitting the ground.

"Is this a research personnel?" She pulled off his headgear, frowned slightly, woke him, and placed her hand on his neck, saying, "You’d best not struggle, or you’ll die immediately."

The man’s body immediately froze. His eyes expressed terror as he looked at the Saint Woman, unable to believe such a beautiful woman could be so ruthless.

"Speak, I think you know what I want to know," the Saint Woman asked coldly.

Meanwhile, Li Yifei used the ID on his chest to smoothly enter a room, a large workshop. As he surveyed the scene, he saw many glass vessels, but some people were busy in the distance. Li Yifei didn’t approach to observe. From afar, he could faintly see what seemed like the shape of a baby in several glass containers.

It was reminiscent of scenes of clones in some sci-fi movies, but Li Yifei didn’t think modern technology could create clones, especially since it’s prohibited by law and ethics.

"Type II Person, this isn’t a place for you, leave immediately!" A voice suddenly appeared next to Li Yifei’s ear. He turned his head quickly but saw no one, instead spotting a speaker. Glancing over, he saw a camera aimed at him.

Li Yifei looked at the camera, turned, and walked out.

In the surveillance room, in front of a large glass window, Randolf pointed at the screen and said, "Bring this Type II Person here. I sense something odd about him!"

"Okay!" A subordinate immediately went to capture Li Yifei. Randolf then said to the person beside him, "I hear you’ve made progress, which makes me happy. I’ve already informed the Captain, and the Captain is very pleased, instructing us to expedite the research!"

A middle-aged man in a white coat showed a fanatic expression upon hearing this, seemingly extremely admiring the Captain. But after the enthusiasm, he began to worry, saying, "Lord Randolf, telling the Captain this early might not be appropriate!"

"Why?"

"Although the Type III Medicine has been developed, we cannot guarantee its stability and its effectiveness is unknown. We need repeated human trials to ensure safety!"

"That’s why I’ve sent the capturers to get more seeds for you, ensuring you have enough seeds for the experiments."

"No, no, Lord Randolf, just having seeds isn’t enough. Although we’ve developed it, it’s not the final product. We might still need to adjust the chemical formula and refine it. This takes time, even with more seeds."

"That’s your problem. If you need money, I’ll provide it. If you need people, I’ll capture them for you. If you need various materials, I’ll get them too. But if the research doesn’t produce results, you all better watch out!" Randolf said with a stern face.

The scientists immediately looked troubled and said, "Lord Randolf, we are absolutely loyal and devout to the organization. But science is science, especially with this research that’s at the forefront worldwide. We cannot be rash and must be cautious. Type II is powerful enough, and we are eagerly anticipating Type III. But if Type III has problems... that’s a big issue!"

Randolf raised his hand, pointing at each scientist, saying, "Gentlemen, I respect you all, and I’ve said my piece. I trust you wouldn’t want me to repeat it. So, proceed as I instructed. There are plenty of scientists in the world, and I don’t lack a few of you!"

These words left the scientists shocked, but they had no argument. In the end, an older man said, "Very well, Lord Randolf. We will accelerate the research as you said. But this means the precision of the medicine is uncertain. Currently, only one and a half seeds out of a hundred achieve the desired effect!"

"I think that’s already a high probability, isn’t it?" Randolf said, looking relaxed.

"That probability..." The scientists shivered slightly and stopped speaking. Even for this type of medicine, a success rate of merely 1% is too low to be considered a viable drug.

However, Randolf had given the order. As the most powerful and authoritative person on the island, when he speaks, others must obey. Disobedience means execution and being thrown into the sea to feed the sharks.

Many had suffered such fates previously, so those still alive could only endure.

Li Yifei sensed someone approaching him, likely having been detected by the video surveillance.

"Type II Person, halt, Lord Randolf wants to see you!" Li Yifei heard a human of normal height say. He turned his head somewhat woodenly and saw a man with a gun pointed at him.

Li Yifei nodded lightly. The man gestured for him to walk towards Randolf’s room.

Breaking into the core was a good opportunity. Otherwise, the moment he was threatened with a gun earlier, Li Yifei would’ve taken action to subdue the opponent.

Following the route, Li Yifei noted the path, seemingly going down six floors by elevator, likely reaching below sea level. After exiting the elevator and walking a bit, he arrived outside a room. The person went to verify his identity, the door opened, and Li Yifei saw Randolf. Randolf had an unusual appearance, eyes slightly bulging, with a large and broad nose. But most notably, two sharp teeth protruded from the corners of his mouth, resembling canine teeth. He stood around 1.9 meters tall and was very muscular. Despite the low temperature of about ten degrees, he still wore a vest, exposing explosive muscles.

One could immediately recognize him, as Li Yifei recalled Randolf’s aura.

Simultaneously, when the door opened, Randolf’s expression froze upon seeing Li Yifei, and his smile turned stiff, frowning at him. Randolf said, "I suspected something peculiar, but I didn’t expect it to be you!"

Li Yifei stepped in to see a few people standing, holding unusually shaped guns, presumably not bullet-firing but dispensing high-concentration acid or some liquid, with a small canister underneath for liquid storage.

Randolf’s sharp eyes focused on Li Yifei, filled with murderous intent.

Li Yifei walked into the room, and the door automatically closed. Despite being targeted by several weapons, he remained unfazed, having already silently summoned his True Qi Armor. As long as he protected his head, even if they fired bullets, the threat wouldn’t be significant.

Watching Randolf, Li Yifei said nothing, and the latter remarked, "Tell me your background. To dare come to my Randolf’s domain, you’ve got some nerve!"

Li Yifei still said nothing, and Randolf sneered with a grimace, saying, "Not speaking is useless. I can already smell you don’t have the unique scent of a Type II Person. You’re completely human."

"A dog, huh? You’ve got a good nose!" Li Yifei laughed, shedding the white coat and naturally recovering to around 1.8 meters in height. Randolf sized up Li Yifei, sneering, "I thought so. Now, tell me your purpose and background, and I might let you die less painfully. Otherwise, my scientists here have countless ways to make you wish for death!"

"I’m curious about their methods!"

"By removing your head, allowing you to experience surviving without a body for hours, maybe days, feeling nothing from your body..."

"Sounds interesting!" Li Yifei raised an eyebrow indifferently.

"Or have you ingest a newly cultivated protozoan. Once inside your body, they consume everything, turning it into a sieve. Perhaps a scratch would cause tiny fountains to burst from your skin."

"That’s slightly more exhilarating!" Li Yifei remarked.

"Still not satisfied?" Randolf said with a smiling face but was clearly enraged, snorting, "If not, I’ll make you a Type III Drug test subject. Now that’s truly exciting. If you’re lucky, if it succeeds, it’ll be the best outcome for you. Perhaps then, we’ll even become friends!"

"Type III People?" freeweɓnøvel.com

"You don’t need to know too much. Once you become a Type III Person, you’ll understand. Oh, I forgot, Type III People lose all previous memories, turning into a blank slate, understanding only simple words and commands. So you won’t remember today’s events!"
