Chapter 1132: Chapter 1131: Oddities

But she was the kind of person who spoke without a filter. After showing off her babies, she casually added, "Our names are great, unlike some folks, who actually name theirs Alice."

Yanran stared at her, waiting for her to continue.

"Don’t look at me like that." Ba Lv was not afraid of Yanran’s gaze at all.

"What’s wrong with the name Alice?" Yanran really wanted to know.

"That name is everywhere! My god, you seriously don’t know?" Ba Lv exclaimed dramatically.

"You—" Yanran was so angry she couldn’t get a word out.

"Isn’t it better than your Hai and Bai? Listen to that, Hai, Bai, so childish and ’elegant.’" As their teacher, Jiang Cheng heard this kind of bickering every day now. If it weren’t for the fact that the two forgot the fight as soon as they finished and got along right after, he would honestly suspect they might start a real fight over their pets.

"Alice, come here!" Yanran called to the Flaming Firebird.

Since her master had called, the Flaming Firebird had no choice but to go over.

"You, can’t you have a little ambition? Is playing with those two little things fun all day long?"

Yanran complained at the Flaming Firebird, but the movement of her hands gave away what she was really thinking.

Her hand kept stroking the Flaming Firebird’s chest, which was the bird’s favorite way of being petted.

"Be good, don’t play with those two little things, okay?" Yanran jerked her chin at Ba Lv’s back. "Those two little guys are fine, but their owner, pfft—" Yanran’s voice was not too loud or too soft, just enough for Ba Lv to hear.

Sure enough, Ba Lvluo exploded. She shouted at Yanran, "Yanran, what did you say!"

Yanran had achieved her goal and smiled secretly. She put on a look of surprise. "I was talking to Alice."

Ba Lv puffed up her cheeks and didn’t say a word.

"Dinner time~" Yanran put down the plates for the pets.

The Flaming Firebird was still relatively calm, but the two wolf cubs acted like they’d just heard the charge horn. They dashed forward, shoved their heads into the plates, and started gobbling down the food.

"Ba Lvluo, your two little ones eat like they’ve been starving for ages. They literally just had a meal not long ago, it’s unbearable." Yanran said it on purpose.

"They’re wolves, okay? Of course wolves are fierce. They’re not birds with tiny bird stomachs, haha." Ba Lv fought back.

"Exactly. Our Alice is a lady. A lady has to look like a lady when she eats, not like those hot-tempered types that splatter everywhere, right, Alice?" Yanran finished and covered her mouth, snickering.

"Who are you saying is not a lady!" Ba Lv had lost this round of verbal sparring. She knew perfectly well she wasn’t a lady type, but she still couldn’t swallow it and glared at Yanran. "Just you wait!"

Jiang Cheng walked out from inside. "Hey, all day long it’s just you two arguing, arguing, arguing! I can’t even read in peace."

Since the teacher had spoken, Yanran and Ba Lv didn’t dare say anything more.

"Look." Jiang Cheng pointed at the star system cloud chart in his hand and said to Ba Lv, "This is the planet we’re about to land on."

"Oh." Ba Lv looked at the chart in Jiang Cheng’s hand. "Bordeaux Planet, got it now."

"Teacher, what kind of place is Bordeaux Planet?" Yanran asked.

"I read the introduction for this planet. It’s a place with human civilization, and the people here have a particular hobby." Jiang Cheng said with a smile, but he didn’t say what that hobby was.

"You’re doing that thing again, dangling it in front of us, so annoying." Ba Lv only muttered this once her teacher had walked farther away.

"Coward, say it to the teacher’s face if you’ve got the guts." Yanran took the chance to hit her while she was down. Ba Lv turned around and made a face at Yanran. "I’m not falling for that!"

After flying for more than ten hours, Yanran and Ba Lv’s ship gradually started to see other craft around them.

They hadn’t seen any other humans for almost a month now, so the moment they saw people again, they felt an unexpected warmth and closeness.

The Flaming Firebird also stuck its head up against the window to watch the excitement.

"Come on, let me hold you so you can see." Yanran reached out to pick up the two wolf cubs. "Poor little guys, blame your short legs."

After a long flight, Yanran and Ba Lv’s ship entered the airspace of a planet called "Bordeaux."

On the public channel of the ship, a sweet female voice sounded. Speaking in the common interstellar language, she said, "Welcome to Bordeaux Planet. Please cooperate with our guidance and land at the designated location."

Lvluo replied, "Roger!"

Then, under the guidance of that female voice, their ship landed on Bordeaux Planet, a place they had never set foot on before.

When Jiang Cheng, Yanran, and Ba Lv finished the necessary procedures and stepped out of the hangar gate, looking at the scene in front of them, Ba Lv couldn’t help sighing, "The human world really is more my style."

Though they didn’t say anything, Jiang Cheng and Yanran very much agreed with Ba Lv’s opinion.

If it wasn’t absolutely necessary, who would want to stay away from humans?

Bordeaux Planet wasn’t very big, and in this star system its level of civilization was only about mid-range.

However, based on what Jiang Cheng and the others observed, the people here were clearly the type who knew how to enjoy life.

On the street in front of them, the pedestrians walked with an easy, relaxed gait. One small craft after another cruised along unhurriedly.

In the green belt along both sides of the street, there was a tall green plant every few meters. Between the trees were beds of blooming flowers. Next to the green belt, parasols were set up one after another. Under these parasols sat customers, all looking completely relaxed and at ease.

All of this made it feel like the people living here led very stress-free lives.

"We need to find a proper place. I want to flop onto a soft big bed and sleep like a log," Ba Lv said with a pout.

"Don’t rush. Let me tell you my plan, and if you have anything to add, you can say it later." Jiang Cheng pulled the two of them over to a spot with empty seats and sat down.

The enthusiastic owner came over right away and served them a few drinks.

"Wow, sour and sweet, it’s really good." Ba Lv took the first sip and couldn’t help praising it to the skies.

The supplies on their ship did not include things like drinks; they had only brought as much purified water as they could. So, as girls, seeing all these drinks really did make their mouths water a bit.

Hearing Ba Lv say that, Yanran couldn’t resist taking a sip either. It really was just like Ba Lv said, sweet and sour and very tasty.

But she didn’t gulp it down like Ba Lv. It wasn’t that she was being reserved; it was just the habit she had built up over many years.

She had lived on the Nameless Planet for a long time. On that barren land, she survived by hunting Wild Lu, always half-hungry, so she’d developed the habit of eating and drinking slowly and carefully.

Once the two girls put their cups down, Jiang Cheng finally spoke.

He knew that the long journey had been hard on these two girls.

Not just materially—what was worse was the mental side. Being stuck in the cramped space of a ship all day, doing the same monotonous tasks over and over—never mind energetic youngsters like Yanran and Ba Lv, even some seasoned travelers with experience might not be able to take it.

Jiang Cheng had plenty of travel experience and knew a lot of people. He had heard more than once about people who, after long journeys, became eccentric and bad-tempered; some even did extreme things.

Although Yanran and Ba Lv had complained along the way, other than that they hadn’t shown any other unusual behavior.

But their journey time was still very long ahead, so it was best to keep them from growing tired of traveling too soon.

That was why, now that they’d come to Bordeaux Planet, he wanted them to really relax for a bit.

Besides, Delbor Planet did have things that would attract them.

Not just the scenery, the food, and other entertainment.

"I still have to go to the Spaceflight Corps to check the local star system charts. You two can just wander around however you like, take your pick." Jiang Cheng said.

Yanran and Ba Lv exchanged a look.
