Chapter 1572: Chapter 1572: She Doesn’t Even Know What Her Own Son Looks Like
Chloe closed her eyes in pain.
Ethan was alarmed, "Kiki, what’s wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell?"
Chloe’s face was paper-white. She looked up at Ethan, reaching out to softly touch his tender little cheek. "Little Joy, Kiki is okay, don’t be scared."
Chloe quickly adjusted herself, not wanting to frighten Ethan. The two had a very pleasant class together.
Afterward, Chloe handed Ethan over to Mrs. Webb, "Little Joy, I’ll see you tomorrow."
"Alright, Kiki, see you tomorrow."
Ethan followed Mrs. Webb home, and she asked him, "Young master, how was Kiki’s class?"
Ethan nodded vigorously, "It was great! I really like Kiki’s class. I also really like Kiki. Kiki is so gentle, just like the mommy in my dreams."
Mrs. Webb thought Ethan missed his mommy too much, that’s why he saw a reflection of her in Kiki.
...
Ethan went home, had dinner, took a bath, and went to bed. The night had fallen, but his dad hadn’t returned.
Morgan came home very late. As the President of a country, he had many affairs to deal with. By the time he got home, Ethan was already asleep. He went to check on his son, then entered his own room.
A melodious ringtone suddenly echoed in the room, a call was coming in.
It was dark in the room with no lights turned on, and he had no intention of turning them on. Standing tall and distinguished by the floor-to-ceiling window, he held a phone in hand. The screen lit up with an incoming call from the Crawford family.
He understood the Crawford family’s intention behind the call. After all, they had expressed their wish a few days ago; they wanted to see their grandson, Ethan.
However, he didn’t agree.
He hadn’t reached an agreement with the Crawfords. Now, with the Crawfords calling again, his handsome face remained hidden in the darkness.
After a while, he answered the call, "Hello."
"Hello, President Ashworth," it was Serena’s voice, "A few years ago we had an agreement; our Crawford family has the right to visit Little Joy regularly. You can’t prevent us from seeing Little Joy, but it seems like you don’t want us to see him this time."
Morgan pressed his thin lips together without replying.
"President Ashworth, we miss Little Joy, and Little Joy must miss us too. Can’t you offer us this bit of family time? Little Joy has lacked love since he was young. You shouldn’t let him..."
"So you all knew that Joy’s been lacking love since childhood?" Morgan suddenly interrupted from the other end.
The line went silent.
With one hand in his pocket and a mocking curl to his lips, Morgan spoke in a low voice, "So you always knew Joy was lacking love, but what did you do for him?"
"Yes, I know Little Joy misses you and wants to meet you. But I’m also aware that he misses his mommy... all day, every day, every hour, and every minute. Should I also invite his mommy to see him?"
With that, Morgan scoffed, eyes filled with derision and coldness. "Oh, I forgot, Joy’s mommy is too busy, so busy that she hasn’t shown up in three years. I just want to ask her if she’s forgotten she has a son, does she even know what her son looks like?"
